Meet Me in St Louie Louie
I'd like to take a moment to recall that today, February 3rd, 1959, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. "Big Bopper" Richardson died in a tragic plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa .. Valens was just 17, Waylon Jennings was playing bass in Holly's Band the Crickets and gave up his seat on the flight to Richardson .. Dion DiMucci of Dion and the Belmonts was the only one not on the plane from that nights concert "The Winter Dance Party" ..

The Concert was held at the Surf Ballroom, Clear Lake Iowa .. now, Sacred Ground for any Rock Aficionado ..

The tragedy was forever immortalized in "American Pie" by Don Mclean

Good morning Gracie. Hope you have a great day. I've got a doc appointment today. Hopefully she'll take care of this sinus infection and help with the pain med quitting. :)
sorry to hear about the sinus infection. How's the pain med quitting going?

My leg is still screwed up but I'm able to hobble around with a cane. Just can't believe how stupid I was by doing this and I'm paying for it now.
Honey please don't say you were stupid for doing, it's one of those things. Sorry it's still so painful, but I do wish you'd see a doc. Mighta damaged something.

PSA ... Although the Old Brain Cells are not what they used to be, I'm pretty sure @Semiretired / Phil mentioned in a HO discussion in early January they would be leaving for the Philippines around mid-January ..
we all know my memory can't be counted on fer nuttin, but I thought they'd pushed it back to the first week of Feb. Not like him to take off without letting us know. But mighta just been too busy and rushed.

Willie, you brought back such a bitter-sweet memory for me.....I had been out of high school less than a year when that tragedy happened, and it still brings so much sadness.
But on a brighter note, it's good to hear these tunes!

Jup such a sad thing.....the day the music died. that and the crash that took Patsy Cline, Cowboy Copas, Hawkshaw Hawkins, and her manager

For those that are interested, the interview went ok, but he had no openings, he is going to send my info to another store that does.

If you know which store, it wouldn't hurt to grab another resume yourself and stop by. Let THAT manager know you interviewed with the other one and were told you could be a good fit.

Hi all thought I would check in. I've been lurking in other threads and one thing I have found is with the abundance of cheap high power mods it has definitely put them in the hands of people who never should have them. A lot of them have never even heard of Ohms Law and it shows. Oh well something else to give us a bad name.
My leg is still screwed up but I'm able to hobble around with a cane. Just can't believe how stupid I was by doing this and I'm paying for it now.
I'm not good at going back 10 pages and reading so I will just say hope everything is going good.
My wifes prescription for her pain meds which has to be mailed in has somehow gotten lost in the mail so she has to get a 7 day supply till the USPS decides that it is lost. It was supposed to be here the 28th and no word since it left MO on the 26th. What a hassle. I think it's crazy that she can''t get a 30 day supply at the pharmacy she has to use mail order and they send them 1st class sign required and the PO won't consider it lost till 30days after it was last scanned. Somebody probably stole it and sold it and made themselves $1K. What a hassle. I mean it's obviously missing cause I ordered something from Florida on Sunday at it is going to be delivered today. I can't wait for my leg to get better. All this pain to save 10seconds. Sheesh.
Legs, di you not get a tracking # when it's mailed?

After Xmas, USPS has been a disaster. Had an order (actually more than one) shown as picked up on Jan. 4 by tracking. Week later... picked up on Jan 4. Few days later, delivered. Just checked tracking today (no clue why). Shows... picked up on Jan 4.
And yeah, I almost always set it to send me notices on progress. Got... none.

wow, no notices and still not there a month later? And I'm assuming (g'head and joke) that it's NOT coming from China! That's absurd.

Then, I guess being interviewed for a job that doesn't exist is not a total loss.

I get that at times. They just don't scan them & then if there is no investigation opened for a lost package they clear them & show them delivered. I figured out that my post office delivers most of the packages in the afternoon, but doesn't release the delivered info until around 4-5. I usually go in the late afternoon after 3 if I get an sms showing it was scanned as leaving N. Houston that morning. I may get the delivered sms at 8pm after 8 already picked it up at 3. My PO as very disorganized with the package deliveries. If I see it left N Houston but don't have a delivery notice & haven't any reason to go pick up mail, I open an investigation d make them go through that process. That way USPS has record for performance reviews on this contractor for when it's time to negotiate a new contract. Things have improved somewhat over this time last year when it was horrible.

is that a smart phone app, or can you set it at the usps website to notify you so you can check your email with a computer the same way?
