For those that are interested, the interview went ok, but he had no openings, he is going to send my info to another store that does.

I'm hoping LA is right! So, these were actually in fashion? I just thought I had to wear them because I was in Catholic school, to go along with my uniform.
I've had 2 packages from China that tracking said were 'Processed through sort facility' in Los Angeles, that now say 'Origin post preparing shipment' in CHINA! I have another one with the same Los Angeles tracking. I hope it doesn't end up doing the same thing.
Slow is one thing. This is another.

Saddle oxfords! For the life of me, I can't think of the shoes name .. somebody chime in .. ??
And cheerleaders, d every other girl in the US. Bobby socks & saddle oxfords. They were called saddle oxfords.....and I only know, because just like Teresa.....I had to wear them with a uniform for a Catholic girls school......and that's the only time I had those clunky things on...
Just a little side note....these were what the bobby soxers who swooned and screamed over Frank Sinatra wore...![]()

Good! The manager must have been impressed with you. Good luck!About the same
Unfortunate? Maybe, maybe not.I was one of the unfortunate ones. Went to public school. The culture was --- let us say-- different. There were only three of us cat-liks in a class of 60. By the time I got to a Catholic college, I was too confused to benefit.

I went to Catholic school for first grade. Because it was a private school, I could start school a year earlier (My birthday is in mid-October). I have relatively fond memories of that school year. I loved the sparkly, diamond-like rosaries that they sold on campus. My mother had to tell them to stop letting me buy them.
However, I was then sent to parochial school (like a public Catholic school). From Sept.'63 through May '65 were the worst 2 years of my life. I blocked out all of it and the years prior to it. Memories didn't start coming back until I was about 9 months pregnant with my first child. Hormones, I guess.
Yep, saddle shoes. Were the thing in the mid 60's, too! Scarred the left one playing muffler on boyfriends motorcycle......All I know is I seem to remember them being all the rage for females for a time in the 1950's, early 1960's ..
Unfortunately I've got a couple of ulcers that say I shouldn't take ibuprofen and I'm on aspirin therapy so aspirin is also out of the question. Oh well, what's a mother to do?I used to get sinus infections constantly. I haven't had a single one since I started taking aspirin/ibuprofen (something that reduces the swelling in my sinuses). Sinuses must be kept open and allowed to drain!
Of course, that suggestion does no good once you already HAVE the infection.

Wait ... wait ... these were mandatory when I was in high school (public not Catholic) to be part of the "in" crowd. Wore with button down shirts with a loop on the back and a horseshoe belt buckle. Yep that was the garb of the 'in crowd'. Unless you were a motor head ... then it was Converse sneakers or ankle high work boots.

Oh my !!! Did your poor mother have to iron that nasty oxford cloth those shirts were made out of ? or did she make you iron them yourself ?.....![]()
They don't know why, but she has severe pancreatitis with sepsis, gall bladder infection, lung infection and is still on the ventilator. Thank goodness her parents are here now. Gosh, what they must be going through. She is slowly improving but will be in ICU for at least a few more days, if not another week or more. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. So glad to know her parents are there for her now!
Any improvement or diagnosis?
