Mrs Semi works for me until Semi says it's ok to use her real name :)
He's pretty careful on privacy issues.
Amy, I agree. I knew we had something we were calling her. I couldn't remember what it was.

Semi should be asked before putting his wife's name out on the internet......I would not do that without first asking.
Seriously you two? Where did I ask for, or suggest using her real name?

How dumb do you think I am?

Darn, was working on a reply to iffy and hit the wrong button and froze my phone!

Tampa show is the weekend of June 17/18. Anyone nearby that wants to check out a dog show, stop by the Tampa Fairgrounds and look for vendor Gear To Go!

I am not showing Geordi right now. His breeder and I have agreed to wait til he grows up more (he's gonna be nice!) and trained (both him AND me! Showing a dog in conformation is a lot harder than it looks!). She said "remember, you are training a Special, not a class dog". In other words, once he earns his Championship he will be good enough to keep showing as a finished Champion. Both my other Tervs (no offense Tasha) were very nice and well deserved champions, but not really the quality and showiness to keep competing. Geordi, well trained and with attitude, could do very well. So we are working toward that goal. Right now he is still too "puppy". If I wait I won't waste as much $ on entry fees  And have more fun!
That sounds great! He is alteady beautiful!

I lived in Lubbock for about a year and a half. My son was born there. My ex was the north end of a cow going south and Happiness was Lubbock, TX in my rear view mirror! (or out the airplane window).
I once lived a ways north of there, and I know what you mean!! God-forsaken area of the country. Since Russ has deeper roots there, he might like it better.

Well, I've gone beyond too tired to participate to downright brilliant bordering on idiot, so I thought I'd surprise Chey and try to transfer the videos of the Odyssey trip onto the laptop so she doesn't have to do it tomorrow...all I had was a couple of fuzzy pelicans...they weren't fuzzy but my videoing was...and then I discovered the video i did of my place around Christmas this past year...I'm going to play it ( somehow I figured out

Virtualbox is free, has decent documentation, and good online support. (At least it did when i was using it heavily)

VirtualBox – Oracle VM VirtualBox

this might be a good way to transition to linux. it allows you to dip your toes into the water before taking the cold plunge. installation of Virtualbox as well as distros is pretty straightforward.
Well, I spent the weekend at my brother's house working on my computer.

We first set up a dual boot with Win 10 and Linux Mint. But, when we rebooted, Win 10 took over the computer again and made it almost impossible to get back into Mint. So, I told my brother to wipe out Win 10. He tried a copy of Win 7. But, it was too outdated to reliably run my new computer.

We finally just wiped out everything and installed just Linux Mint. I'll probably add Fedora later, just for a little variety. But, for now Linux Mint it is.

And, I love it! It works so much better than Win 10!

It is a little more complicated than Windows. But, the basics very simple and user-friendly. The rest is just more like the old DOS days, command line stuff. Except that in Linux it's called terminal instead of command line, and it all feels very familiar.

If I can learn to use Linux, anyone can!!

Well, we headed over to Orlando yesterday - going to make the trek home today. I cannot in any words express my thanks to everyone for making my wife (and of course me) feel so welcome. She has not stopped once talking about her great time...

We went to SeaPeach's house yesterday and spent a couple of hours with her husband and Deb. Had a great time again. Missed the lunch with Ken, but now know he is local to Orlando so we can have future opportunities when we drive through the area. We are really looking forward to meeting up with more porchers outside of the Odyssey scene. We hope we can set a few up here and there - we do a lot of traveling from time to time...

Semi-'s wife took so dang many pictures you might just need another server added the the ECF server farm to host just her pictures.

She had a lot and I mean a lot to take pictures of...

and that is the truth!!!:DWhat a joy that woman was!Just a ball of energetic fire!

Hah! She still has plenty left...

We've got to stop calling her Semi's wife. I know she has a name!

Mrs. Semi?

That will work... :)

Or, since she's shorter, Demi Semi? ;)

NOT!!! :eek::D:cool:

Good morning, all. :)

Well, Friday's "go yell at nurses fiasco" went well and was actually productive. The intent was to get a renewed pain med prescription and verify appointment rescheduling for today. After a mild bout of "runaround" and subsequent increased fervor at voicing displeasure, we met with the "Nurse Manager". End result: prescription was refilled, and instead of rescheduling the appointment, they worked her into the schedule Friday. So we got all of the paperwork and bloodwork done so that she can start the new chemo today. :) We were also given more options to use for contacts, in case this is ever a problem in the future. It was pretty much smooth sailing for the rest of the weekend.

Very happy to see that everyone has made it back from the Odyssey! Have thoroughly enjoyed all of the pictures and stories! :)
