Sounds like he did all that it said to do, it's just stuck. Google showed me that it's not an uncommon problem, and that an update would fix it, but it didn't for him.

Morning, having my wake up cup on the porch. Winter is definitely coming to au. They are only now catching on to ducted heating / cooling in new builds. So one has to dress accordingly. Thankfully, we don't get freezing temps, but I've been pulling out the throw blankets.
Time to guess at a few new flavours to order, something to break it up a bit. Galls me to spend 30$ shipping on 20 dollars worth. I can't bring myself to order premium brands. They can't be that much better, all made of same ingredients. wishing I was home and could just shoot out to the shops and pay and go. Australia can be quite inconvenient at times. If anyone calls me mate today, I'll get my frying pan out. Cheers all.

Well I just caught this and I told him the things I would try but have never even heard of this problem before. He has a Renegade which is a mod that is sold by Varitube where I buy all my SX's and it has the same chip as my M's but like I say mine all work perfectly. I rarely go out of Joules mode but tried all of mine and no problem. I did find out there is upgrades out for my M's and ML but not really interested it's just for their illusive Pure atomizer that hasn't showed up on the market yet and I have the setting on my ML if I get crazy and get one. I'm perfectly satisfied with what I have.

You do need to carefully read descriptions. If it's listed as "authentic" it will be, if listed as "style", it's a clone. Some of which may be well made, so look at some of the feedback on a particular item.
I've ordered from them about 12 or 15 times. Three years ago I placed four orders within a 2 or 3 week time period and never received 3 of them. They were small orders, so at first I didn't notice, then I forgot, then I procrastinated. By the time I got around to creating tickets, it was almost a year since the orders had been placed. They issued me credit for the entire amounts, which was only about $25 total. If I'd reported it quicker they'd have given me a refund instead, but I had no problem using the credit.
Fasttech seems to periodically have shipping difficulties, but I've heard of none in the past year or so, and even when those difficulties existed, their customer service was on the ball about issuing refunds or credits.
After trying many positions, getting a rolling laptop cart, sitting on various height pillows, realizing that this dang laptop is way too heavy for me and the keyboard is way too far back cuz the whole dang thing is just too big, I've come to the conclusion that bigger is not necessarily better.
So now I'm on the hunt for a smaller laptop
This time I'm gonna physically check them out to make sure that they're not too heavy to cart around easily!
I have an older desktop for the serious stuff; a laptop for watching TV and surfing; a tablet that is too big for doing the things I can now do with a smaller tablet. The moral of this story is that I, too, did not think before I presented my credit card and begged the salesperson to give me that shiny PC. The smaller tablet is just the right size to put in my "dialysis comforts" bag along with my warm throw, a small bottle of apple juice, Ritz peanut butter crackers, cell phone and ear phones. (3 days a week............3 1/2 hours MWF)

Here is something for the NASCAR fans.
I'm a few pages behind but had to share this little bit of NASCAR trivia. I will get caught up tomorrow while I'm on the patio smoking a couple racks of ribs and a spiral cut ham. They have been rubbed down and are marinating in the fridge. Dinner will be when the ribs are falling off the bones. I have to admit, there are some aspects of smoking I haven't been able to give up.
