Always wondered what made the idiot behind the counter at the auto parts store an expert. Nothing of course. Do they even offer them training? And yet those things still happen & people are still surprised.

After my experience with artisanal sauerkraut with sriracha, this is just as memorable.
I hope this works well for everyone. Here is a video of the Blue Angles, the US Navy precision flying team. It is from the LA County Air Show in 2014. My first command was at Miramar Naval Airstation in San Diego. It was there that I was able to watch the Blue Angles for the first time. For the first year that I was attached to Navy Fighter Weapon School, I worked on the flight line eventually becoming a Plane Captain. I really enjoyed sitting on the flight line watching the small fighter taking off and landing. After that, I was assigned in the Rigger shop where I took care of the pilots personal protective equipment. Good grief, that was a long time ago, LOL. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video.
My Dad was in the parts industry my whole life. They used to send them through classes for the various makes & known frequent replacement parts but nothing too technical. They relied on the manuals.Always wondered what made the idiot behind the counter at the auto parts store an expert. Nothing of course. Do they even offer them training?![]()
It will mess up lawn care equipment too! That's what we have here and down in Florida as well. I haven't seen real unadulterated gas in quite a while. Ethanol is terrible for your car. It will absorb humidity out of the air and rust your fuel lines and gum up stuff if you don't use the vehicle often enough. I have this blue stuff I add to the gas that's supposed to help keep the ethanol from causing problems. I'll look and see what it is later (tomorrow) and post it, if I remember.![]()
Oh, Honey, I know you want me to look out for myself, and I am. My eyes and ears are wide open in spite of me playing dumb as a doorknob. I'm at a field base right now. That's not the only place in the company. I'm a freaking survivor!!I'm not saying retire, just new job somewhere else. I've done the staying until the bitter end thing, & I've trained more than one new guy who turned out to be my lower paid & fewer benefits replacement so the company could cut costs to save the company. All ended in layoffs & having to find another job. I was being more loyal to them instead of myself. Not trying to be doomy & gloomy just saying lookout for yourself., Sweetness!
That's a damned sight better than I can play.I got a new toy today, a $200 12-string guitar

Why doesn't he like them?My lead mechanic is a former Navy man, and he doesn't have very kind things to say about the Blue Angels. I don't care. They still thrill the hell out of me.
Knots is like Celsius to me... I have to convert in order to get a feel for it. 40 knots is 46 mph.It was the 40 knot winds that followed the rain. How do I know it was running at 40? Because Nosy Rosy had to go look at the wind gauge in Ops because she was damned near knocked off her feet coming back from supper.![]()
I had no idea there was such a thing. PB&J for lunch it is!Good Saturday morning, Porchers. Did you know that today is
NATIONAL PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY DAY - April 2

I haven't seen the US Navy Blue Angels since I was too young too remember or appreciate fully, but I've seen the US Air Force Thunderbirds a couple of times since then.
Same difference, right?
((poster grabs popcorn, runs off to find a comfortable and protected viewing position, knowing he may have stirred a pot or two))
Home. Yay! Now shut work out of your mind & take care of yourself. Enjoy!Man on man!! I'm finally home, BUT, did it ever monsoon on us yesterday!! I thought I was going to have to float home. It wasn't so much the rain. It was the 40 knot winds that followed the rain. How do I know it was running at 40? Because Nosy Rosy had to go look at the wind gauge in Ops because she was damned near knocked off her feet coming back from supper.
I showed the kid as much as I could and crammed as much information as I could into his head before I left. I haven't quite gauged yet if he's blowing smoke up my .... yet on how much he's willing to work, but we shall see. He's not stupid and I stepped back as much as I could and let him do.
It was slow the last two days because of the weather, so I didn't get to show him some things, but, I left him with resources to reach out to if he should run into problems. Hell, they should have paid me extra OVER the overtime just for training. Training is draining!!![]()
Are you away from the East Coast, or is it just darker outside than you'd like? At any rate, hope you get your sunrise ASAP!I am still waiting for sunrise here![]()
