How in the world did the kid destroy an Otterbox? My phone died before the Otterbox could even think about wearing out. Everybody laughed at my hot pink Otterbox, but I didn't care. It was on sale, and that was when I was still running parts, so yeah, it kept me from destroying my phone.

I haven't had a working oven in over ten years. When the Sears guy came over to see what was wrong with it, he quoted me something along the lines of $500. Heh heh. I just looked at him like he was crazy and said, "Well, for that much money, I can buy another one!" Therefore, it didn't get fixed. My BIL tried to fix it for me, but that didn't work.

I went out and bought a good sized toaster oven that convection bakes. The only thing I can't cook in there is a turkey. Stoves these days are NOT cheap!! The stove top works, so I'm good.

I know it's not funny, Kenna, but I can picture you firing off that extinguisher into that oven. Heh heh. And people say vaping is dangerous.

So, Roto, you turned it into a heavy duty cabinet????

I had a friend who had a perfectly good, functioning oven that she stored pots and pans in. Said she never baked anything so why not? Of course this was also the friend who dropped heavy things on the glass top stove and broke it several times. I think she's just too dangerous to be in the kitchen!

Um... we always used the oven for storing oven things. Cookie sheets, roaster... etc. Anything used to bake really. Only need it when you're going to bake so why not? Gives a lot more cabinet space.

She needs a cast iron stove top!

Well the death of Otterbox started with a torn usb cover, which by the time he told it was ripped up to the screen. When I went to photo it for replacement the ear phone cover was gone and he'd put a hole in the back of it "?" obviously he and friends at school were messing with it and fubared it. So a new screw down Alum. case and a threat of a sever beating should arrive by the end of the week.

Maintenance came & replaced the element, but i'm not trusting the oven, now. It burned & broke at a spot about 2-3" from the plug in the back. I'm afraid that the plug is the issue, or was damaged by the heat from the fire.
oh dang sweetie, so glad it wasn't a huge fire, and no one was hurt. I'm with everyone else about seeing if you can get em to replace it. Sad part is, they'll likely put that one in another unit where no one would be the wiser.

We've been using this for 2 years now. We did do a ham in it, just had to cut the ham up first. Also use a double burner hot plate. Of course we don't cook a lot. But this toaster oven will even hold a 9x13 glass pan if it doesn't have the handles on it, and has the convection I believe.

and I would be the one to roast the pans! My mom and grandma always had the cast iron skillets stored in the oven, but I never had those, so never got in the habit of storing them in the oven. My sil did however, so many years ago when she moved in with me, I turned the oven on to heat while getting the stuff ready that I was going to put in it. soon started smelling burning skillet! lol She did that to me quite a bit.

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes!!! Sushi birthday cakes look like fun! I had a great time...listened to a swing band at an outdoor venue - fabulous!

Kenna~ your oven mishap would have scared me to death! My friend's house burned down when I was about 10 years old. The kids started a grease fire on the stove. I'm super paranoid about leaving the oven/stove on when I leave the house. So glad you're okay!

Have an awesome Monday porch family!!!!!!!
