Matt, hope you and Doree got home safe and without hassles this morning. Good idea to stop and rest for the night. It's safer not to exhaust yourself.
We made it home in time to eat dinner and watch "Boogying with the Has Beens" (Dancing with the Stars) and a nice night in my comfortable bed. The one down south is destined for the dump. It's terrible. Hard as rock and cheap to boot. Thanks for all the birthday wishes and anniversary congrats. This was the lowest profile birthday I've ever had. No celebration and nothing but a card and a 600 mile drive. Not what I would call fun but, as you get older you don't really care as much either.

As for butter vs margarine, butter is better for you. Proven fact, less Trans fats and artificial junk. Plus I just like the flavor better. It's like anything really. Moderation is the key. Eat a pound a day of anything and it's eventually going to clog up the works and kill you. ;)

Now that I'm home with a real computer I will try to get into the hangout more often. Maybe even this evening. The Wednesday night TV shows are all premiering tonight on ABC and I don't really watch any of them. I'll have to keep the noise down though as Doree watches all of them.

jup! My son and dil use butter, so that's just one small thing I love about going to their house. and now ICBINB is just as pricey as butter. Some of the store brand butters aren't that great though. Wish we could easily get and afford danish butter, have heard that is soooooo good.

When you've milked the cow, churned the butter, or hand cranked the ice cream; it all tastes better. But its been 40 years since I've done any o those. I was fortunate enough to have done any of these things. Maybe after the Apocalyptic war I'll do it again.

I'd say the one big thing I'd miss is the Back Porch and the Hangout. And microwave popcorn, even if it can't hold a candle to shaker popcorn. Oh and I make my own candles. I guess I need to start making my own juice sometime and quit be a scardy cat.

have done the other stuff, but not milked the cow. But I did go back to regular popcorn when I still had my apt. We use the microwave stuff here. But even the heavy whipping cream isn't as good as what you'd get from a dairy
