It is, in fact, Friday and I'm over due for some R & R .. so, I will likely leave the shop soon and visit an undisclosed locale for some company and a few libations, bringing a small stash of one's and five's with me .. in the event the Spirits Move Me, I may knock on the Hang Out door, depending on the lateness of the hour and my ability to conduct myself in a Gentlemanly Way .. it has been some time, so I simply wanted to give Fair Warning .. ..
Several days back, I shared an exchange of poignant messages with a Fellow Traveler of the "Geezers and Good Women" thread .. initially discussing a spot I know on the East Side of the Mississippi where I sometimes go with a lawnchair before sundown and just sit and watch the sun go down .. I shared a photo I took that evening, so I'll share it again here .. as the sun sets wherever any of you are, here is a little slice of the St Louis skyline ... I hope you like it ..

wait-- we're supposed to act gentlemanly in the hangout? uh oh...
the last time i saw the arch was over 40 years ago. as i recall it was the same evening light. it was memorable because the clutch on my '64 bug went out just as i spied the arch. made it back to cali without a clutch and drove it that way for another year to college.

Good to see ya Willie, thanks for the tunes!Pokes head around the corner, says "Hi, I'm Willie .. for those of you that may remember, I sporadically maintain a recliner on the Back Porch .. although said recliner is obviously dumpster material in the eyes of some, others seem to not be bothered by it's age, decrepitude and generally worn look .. some things in life serve good purpose as a metaphor while doubling as a seating surface, and sometimes you have to kind of wiggle around a little to find just the right comfort zone ..

I haven't yet developed an appreciation for the accordion, or for polka and other music that I loosely call beer hall music. An effective refutation of that truth can be accomplished by continuing to look for something after you've already found it.And I've always been confused on our search patterns. Object are ALWAYS found in the last place you look so why not look there first??
I started out the pilot hitch right today. I walked in, looked at the lead pilot and said, 'IT LIVES!". His reply, "My first day back on hitch and you're already starting ''''ish. Hey, it's my job. Somebody has to do it!!

Pshaw!! It's just Tuesday for me. It's only the second day of a seven day work hitch. We've already got one grounded and I'll be unloading a transmission for a407 Bell Helicopter tonight, along with other various assorted materials that I ordered yesterday and didn't get last night.
I've been going to supper every night with my mechanics. It's been open season on Debra. Tonight I was in the middle of mechanics And pilots. Good thing I dont' take them seriously and have good sense of humor. I was getting it from all sides. I just can't take these guys anywhere!!
