Nice looking car Dave. Now at least you can go when you want to, even if it's not very often. I agree though, you should at least start it up once a week just to remind it of what it's supposed to do. Wouldn't want to really need to go someplace and find that the squirrels have taken up residence!

Congratulations, Bells! Not having a vehicle is one of my biggest fears.
Mine sat for 9 months & cost me 2500.00 to repair what would have been fine if I had just gone out & started it & let it run awhile & warm up. If you don't do anything else drive it to the mailbox & back several times a week.
I don't think my friends will ever understand that the only thing worse than doing things the hard way is doing what they tell me I should do (unless I ask for help).

Morning porchers!

Yah I know...what the hell am I doing up so early?!

Well, in a couple of hours my GD is taking me to check out a new home, I'd set the alarm but as usually happens, I awoke way before it went off! So now I'm dawdling around waiting:)

Sure hope i like it....it's a mobile home in a 55-over community ( no ignorant parents with heathen kids!) , lotsa wooded areas, a couple small ponds, with a country atmosphere, clubhouse with a pool and small library. If they don't play Euchre i'm sure i can get em started:D

Hope all of you have a great day and stay dry and safe!

Looks like a nice place Oldbroad! Crossing my fingers that it's already yours.

A mixed blessing to be driving again; I'd learned to navigate the universe quite well without a vehicle.
Very high mileage, 184K, but amazingly clean for its age. 2003 Subaru Forester; no unpleasant surprises at all on my drive home from Raleigh; drives great, very comfortable, everything that I've thought to check works well. Knock on wood. First time I've driven and first time I've had a working vehicle in 33 months.

Mike and Janet reporting in;

We spent the weekend in Steamboat Springs. It was about a 4 hr drive, but at least for Janet and I it was a very scenic drive.

Saturday morning we took a small hike to Fishing Creek Falls. That's Kaitlin our daughter and her finance Brian. Yuck - Brian will be deployed to Afghan in November. He flys an Army Medvac 'copter.

The afternoon was spent at Strawberry Park Hot Springs. There were 4 pools ranging from hot to luke warm. We kept switching between them as the mood struck us.

Then for dinner we went to a steak house where it was 'grill your own'. They had a meat cooler where you picked out you steak, then over to the grill to prepare it. Not many people at the time and we had the grill and a bottle of wine to ourselves.

And to surprise Janet, a candle on an ice cream dish that looked like a giant baked potato when it was served. Happy Birthday Janet.

Would the picture of you two scampering between pools would be too risque for the Forum?

Yep, they could be displayed. Clothing optional didn't start 'till sundown and by then we were on our way to dinner.

OK. None of my quotes worked. But, I'll do the best I can.

Kay, did you get the trailer? Tell us, tell us!

Legs, feel free to contact me anytime, day or night.

Chatty Rat, I'm so glad everything's working out so well. I'm glad you two are together for each other.

bigbells, I'm just curious why you're driving again. Either way, you paid for it. Do whatever you want with it.

Matt, I'm so glad your baby is doing well.

Mike and Janet, beautiful pictures! Happy birthday, Janet.

In case I don't make it back before Saturday, happy birthday, Cathy!

Kenna, is that what it's called? Tortoise shell? We have a cat that looks like it'll end up looking like that. It started all black as a kitten. But, now brown is showing through from her undercoat more and more. The kids call her Caramella.

bigbells, I can see why Papa Bear's would be hotter than the rest. But, assuming the sizes of the servings match the sizes of the bears, Baby Bear's should be the cold one.

Happy belated birthday, misswish!

I know I missed, at least, one quote. But, now I forgot what it was !

Haven't been around much. I've been a little busy. Working is fun, but tiring. I love all the new stuff I'm learning and that I'm such a big part of a small company.

Love you all!

Happy birthaversary to all!

I definitely have more important things to figure out than that. For instance, how could Papa Bear's big bowl of porridge be too hot, Mama Bear's medium bowl be too cold, and Baby Bear's small bowl be just right? This defies the laws of thermodynamics.

Nah, just need the details.

Papa bear is kinda macho, so gets his in his tin cup.

Mama uses a ceramic bowl, which sucked all the heat out.

Baby? His is in kid-proof plastic.

You typed finance when you meant to type fiance.

Zackly. Baby Bear's bowl must have been better insulated than Mama Bear's.

David O's post on the subject reminded me of the bottom-weighted insulated mug, with a Weeble bottom (it could wobble but it couldn't fall over), that I had as a wee tyke. Do they still make those?

bigbells, I'm just curious why you're driving again. Either way, you paid for it. Do whatever you want with it.
Evidently, it's so I can create an even balance between those who wonder why I wasn't driving sooner and those who wonder why I didn't wait longer.
