Sooner or later a TC device will come out that works well with Kanthal. I don't really see why it's not already possible. I understand that the change in resistance is too small when the temperature of Kanthal changes, but measuring smaller amounts is not beyond the next technological advance, in my opinion.

Or maybe I have no clue. One or the other.
Yeah with a TCR of .00002 makes it pretty hard to use the resistance method. My understanding the higher the TCR the better it performs with TC. Ti works well with .00365 nickel with a TCR of .00600 is the highest of what is available I think but it is hard to work with compared to Ti.

News media makes it worse. 24/7 reporting on how horrible it is just makes the animals gloat. Calling them terrorists makes them proud. Calling them cowards makes them laugh.
Why not call it like it is. Fools, ignorant, un-educated, naive, stupid, silly, whatever.
Gary that is truly not a bad idea. Call them what they really are.

If you look at Russell's post that started the music that made a bunch of you jump on the bandwagon, you'll see that the very first thing he mentions is France's acceptance of immigrants from the Middle East.

What country suffered the worst terrorist attack so far? Does it make sense to blame other countries when terrorist atrocities take place within their borders?
Here. The World Trade Center. Killed thousands.

Yeah. Right now all the media is doing is patting them on the back and giving them "attaboys".

Anyway, we'll sit down Tuesday and discuss everything, and I'll get to see the MRI and talk about treatment options.

However, there is a new twist that I have to get with my primary physician about. There is a nodule (whatever the hell that is) on my thyroid.

So glad you're addressing your medical issues!

Now, just kick back, relax and catch up wid all da porch gossip...

Playing with the camera settings on my drone. View on YouTube to read my comments on what I was doing. Blue Danube music track. Over 9 minutes long. At one point I invade one of my neighbors' airspace a fair tad.

That stability is absolutely astounding! Any breeze during the flight?

Oh, how I would luv to try one out on da water for fish scouting!

... but one thing that must be done is a massive social media pushback to match and counter the sophisticated networks that terrorist groups have in place.

Yepper, that will surely limit the disenfranchised religious radicals' recruitment and resolve a near fourteen century 'dispute'... not

And i DON'T see our current administration doing anything more than borrowing money to send to france to hire grief councilors and community organizers, then launching an in depth investigation to determine what france did to anger the islamics and how it should apologize.

No, blame the terrorists. No matter where they come from. But don't avoid where their influence & inspiration come from & stop allowing them to immigrate.

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
Since my head has begun to clear some from last night, sweeping away the cobwebs from too much drink and the two fine young ladies that kept me up till 1:30 AM ..

The atrocity in France, of which I got caught up on this morning VIA CNN and some of the commentary that's cropped up here ..

I speak as a Veteran and a Patriot ... There are good, law abiding Muslims here in the USA and all over the World .. people that believe in living their lives as best they can, providing for their families, holding down a job, reaching for their dreams .. no different than you or I .. they have not earned, nor do they deserve, to be placed in the same mold as those in a small minority that choose carnage and destruction .. this is racial and Religious bigotry plain and simple from anyone that suggests differently ..

Although it seems to always get overlooked, this is a Religious War .. with roots that go back into the far distant past .. when an event of this magnitude unfolds, there is an outcry, a demand, for some sort of immediate payback .. yet, if we were to somehow eradicate the source, can we deny that the snake would simply grow a new head .. ?? This is a Global issue .. since the Web has provided the voice on a Worldwide scale .. yet, would we advocate a policy such as China in quashing the free flowing exchange of information VIA the very medium we are using now .. ??

How do you stop a Ghost, how do you stop a zealot that is ready, willing and able to sacrifice their own selves for a cause .. ?? How do you change the hearts and minds of a select group .. ?? When, in History, since the end of World War II, have we been able to win .. ?? I came back from a no-win War, our troops in Korea came back from a no win war, our troops in Iraq, our troops in Afghanistan .. Americans sacrificed their lives .. yet, what has fundamentally changed .. ??

I wish I had an answer .. the one thing that I do know is this .. we as a Country cannot be the Police for the Entire World .. nations that exist at the heart of these problems must be willing to do what they feel needs to be done or face continued problems into the future .. and that needs to include education, quality of life and compassion, because the recruitment of zealots comes about thru despair, disenfranchisement and a feeling of lack of power within their daily lives .. it is not thru force in the Modern World that we can change hearts and minds .. if that's not abundantly clear at this point, well, I suppose it never will be .. it's a slow process, and could take more than one generation, but the pay back is worth the commitment .. and in the end, we will still always be left with a faction, hopefully very small, that would still choose carnage and destruction ..

Hello All. I'm so far behind in here that I don't think I can catch up. Welcome newcomers. I'm way behind with that and I apologize.

Robert, I can empathize with what you have going on with your wife. Bless her hears, and yours too!! This too shall pass.

I got in early Thursday morning and didn't hit the bed until 8 am, so Thursday was pretty much a wasted day.

Yesterday I went in and found out the people had been trying to reach me all week to set up a time to discuss the results of my MRI. They didn't have my cell, so I never got the message. Anyway, we'll sit down Tuesday and discuss everything, and I'll get to see the MRI and talk about treatment options. The basics, at the moment, are that I have some bulging discs in my neck. That's nothing new. They just got worse is all, and they're pressing on nerves. However, there is a new twist that I have to get with my primary physician about. There is a nodule (whatever the hell that is) on my thyroid. Right now I'm just in a blissful state of "don't give a damn".

I am in a state of horror over what happened in Paris. I can't say that I'm surprised. I'm just waiting for it to get over here. It's just a matter of time. With the administration that we have, I don't see them doing much. I could go on a rampage about that, but I won't. I do know that I'm sorely tempted to go "conceal and carry".
I'm about to start the same process for my back d neck, Roto. I'm not going to be able to make it to Florida I don't think. I.m not going to plan on it. I have to get these things taken care of before they get worse. Coupled with the RA it's not good. RA I can deal with. But my back is what keeps me from walking right, d I know it.s causing wear where there shouldn't be any.

Surely wouldn't want to offend anybody! :-x:-x:-x
I don't care who's offended. And I'm sick of all the reverse psychology involved in trying to be offended over every little thing, along with all the phoney tears. Boo hoo. The country elected someone with no wisdom or courage to recognize a problem & act on it. They are more interested in adding to their own pockets & contolling what I do with my own life. Bs is bs, no matter what country it's in.

I love these videos, Bells. The differences when you change the settings is amazing. The clarity & views are awesome.

Whether the terrorists were foreign or domestic is irrelevant, the policy of appeasement and the fear of the perception of anti islam has contributed to the view that france is an easy target. Im just saying that the french government could have nipped this kind of thing in the bud early.

Well, from what I understand, France is highly capable to thwart terrorism. Thing is, how do you stop something like this? The only thing preventing this from happening here (so far) is an ocean. Over there they can just walk to their target.
Killing them won't help. Simply because it's really impossible to get them all. The only way to fight it is to change their mentality. Which is pretty much impossible as well.
There is nothing stopping them from doing it here. We are capable as well, we just aren't doing it much. We react afterward.

Unfortunately, the belief that something could have been done does not provide any help determining WHAT could have been done. Some simplify the problem by calling terrorism the result of appeasement when Democrats are in office, never mind the fact that going to war under Republicans has likewise not stopped terrorism.

Personally, I blame the terrorists. There are no simple solutions, but one thing that must be done is a massive social media pushback to match and counter the sophisticated networks that terrorist groups have in place.

No one has mentioned Party affiliation or blame. I think we've made it clear the terrorists are to blame & the government isn't doing enough.

Yep. There is strength in a president who has a better understanding of the Muslim world than most. Terrorists have no right to call themselves adherents to any religion. It is only an excuse, borne out of self-worship. But, those religions which refuse to anathematize terrorists are at fault for negligence.

Other than scale, what's the difference between the religious extremists in Paris and the ones here who blow up abortion clinics?

There's been a lot of breeze the past few days, including this morning when I took that video. Yesterday was REALLY windy. The gimbal is really capable and the video remains smooth. There is a slight horizon tilt as the result of some software glitch for which I know there's a fix. I'll investigate that later today I think.

The ability of the aircraft to handle wind is amazing. Without GPS the quad would be increasingly difficult to handle as wind speed increases, but the video would still be stable.
