ya like a lil pie with your whipped cream???
I have a handmade notebook from my grandmother with recipes. Gotta dig it out and see what's there. It's been a long time. I know Grampa's recipe for sauerbraten is in there (his parents were German immigrants).
oooooooo I'd love to see her recipe for the red cabbage, sour kraut and spaetzle! Also maybe a sauce for the jagerschnitzel. We used to have a wonderful German restaurant here, but the cook moved and it went wayyy downhill. ooooo and if she has one for potato soup if it has bacon etc in it. Hmmmmm can I send ya some $ and have ya photocopy the book and send it to me??? heheheh j/k
Yepper, soggy dumplings become really loose noodles.
ok, when you said like clouds, I was thinking you meant the biscuit type dumplings that float on top, did you mean the ones you roll out and cut and cook in the broth?
All the neighbors' horses and all the neighbors' cows

We've got Miles overnight by ourselves for the first time and he's got a persistent cough that I'm hoping is not going to have him up during the night.
hope the lil guys not gittin sick!
Well, I had my belated Thanksgiving Day today, and it was well worth the wait. The only traditional thing we had was cornbread dressing, which I made. My daughter did a Spinach Quiche and a Corn and Crab Bisque. It was all SO good. Two women in the kitchen, and we didn't kill one another.
kewl!! Glad you had a great supper and family!
Use canned biscuits
