Here's the Spaetzle recipe I've been using for years.
2 C flour
1 t salt
2 eggs
3/4 C milk (add small additional amounts if batter is not runny enough to get through the spaetzle maker)

Stir to combine. The dough should be runny enough to start to drip through the holes in the spaetzle maker, but not so runny that it pours through.

Make sure the salted water has a good simmer on it (not a hard boil) so they start cooking right away or they'll break apart. Cook for about 2 minutes once they float to the top and scoop out with a slotted spoon.

ok, when you said like clouds, I was thinking you meant the biscuit type dumplings that float on top, did you mean the ones you roll out and cut and cook in the broth?

Yepper, I luv da phluphphy ones. Dem others are noodles to moi.

The next three days will be full of medical procedures. OH!! The fun! :censored:

At least you'll be able to practice your stealth vaping!

Who the heck doesn't like loaf of meat. Love a meat loaf samich! Like my loaf a little on the heavy side. Nit too much breading, after all tis meat loaf, not bread loaf.
I even have a heart-healthy, diabetes-friendly version! Just replace beef with ground turkey and bread crumbs with oatmeal. Voila!
awesome! nevermind bout the offer of a sleep aid! lol I'd had about 2 hrs sleep when the dog woke me up
I can usually go back to sleep if I wake up for a bathroom break, usually. Animals are a whole different story. They often don't let you go back to sleep, whether pets or grandkids. Especially grandkids!
Nope. No ZZZZzzzzzz stuff for moi. All natural works best. It's Florida, the hurts are slowly fading. Why do think all the old folks move down here? Won't go away completely but, definately better and to think I did some ladder climbing yesterday. Wiring up the place for home theater.
Glad you're feeling so much better. South Texas is supposed to be like that. That's why so many ex-military retire here. But, it's been hanging just above freezing lately. And raining.
Unfortunately, I won't be here for HO Sunday morning. I have some visiting to do that I promised. (Why do I do that to myself?) The next three days will be full of medical procedures. OH!! The fun! :censored:
Is it visiting you don't really want to do? Or, just need the rest more? Hopefully, your visits will leave you refreshed.

Medical procedures? Not so fun. But, hopefully you'll feel better in the long run. I'm glad you're getting it taken care of. Be well!
So, you late nighters - when you finally roll into bed around 6am or so - do you say Good Night or Good Morning as you crash for the night...
If I'm up for the day, it's morning. I used to work graveyard, and I always said 'Good mornin!' when I walked in the door at 10 pm.
We'll I gave a thought to bringing Miles to the Hangout ... but I think he's too young for all that pole stuff. We'll catch y'all another time. :)
Uh oh! It's already Sunday?!

Nope. Not even wit my cap on. Just hate it. And BTW, try findin' a capon today. Most kids never even heard of it. Or if you do find one it's the size of a chicken.

not fun at all, but so glad you're getting things seen to. Be sure to let us know how you're doing and what they say.

I always say nitey nite, so one day about 10 am when I was going to bed, I told my son nitey nite, and he said....ya mean day-dy day??? So that stuck for awhile. But jup, I say g'nite when I'm goin to bed and g'mornin whenever I get up. On the billet box thread I had said good mornin on there one time and little bird quoted it, apparently she'd noticed the time, and it was 5 something pm.

We'll I gave a thought to bringing Miles to the Hangout
that would be so kewl to see him in the ho some time!!

So...tonight is dumpling night :)
yummm I didn't have veggies and stuff here to do much of a soup or anything so didn't boil down the carcass this year. We have about one helping of turkey and stuffin left, but have some bbq meatballs that i'll probably put over some egg noodles for tonite.

but I will choose it over fish with fins any day. Never did develop that taste for fish. Shellfish I LOVE, but just regular fish... not so much.
Some fish I like, but I'm very picky about it. When I was a kid I loved London Bobby fish and chips.......but told my dad (who fished a lot) that I didn't like fish that came out of a river or lake lol

Here's the Spaetzle recipe I've been using for years.
thanks! I've never tried making them and need to get something to put the batter through, but have always wanted to. I wonder if a little poultry seasoning or some chicken base would be good in that too.

Yepper, I luv da phluphphy ones. Dem others are noodles to moi.
Jup the biscuit kind are the only kind for me! Cover the whole top of the pot with em, but then always have to make more when the leftovers are reheated. I love carrots in my chicken and dumplins too. and of course some taters. Used to put egg noodles in em too, but no more. But that and the taters did thicken it some. May try whoever suggested a slurry of the biscuit/dumpin batter.

Hey, ya can eat turkey wid your cap on...

Been up since about noon......but........mornin y'all!!

I won't make it tomorrow morning :(

As for banks being closed the Friday after Thanksgiving, not allowed. Banks can not be closed for, I think, more than 2 days in a row. I worked in the IT department of banks for many years (many years ago) and it was an FDIC rule, not the bank's.

So did I and you are correct!!!!!

Superman eats turkey with his capon.

wow Dave, that opening shot had some huge homes. <wavin back> ya shoulda waved again at the end though. :) Such a beautiful area out there
That area is a tad over half a mile from my house and I know a couple that lives in one of them fancy houses... told 'em not to shoot if they saw a quadcopter hovering around. That view came out particularly well today... very pretty.

Nice !
I never got around to getting a noodle maker...I just roll out the dough and strip cut with a pizza cutter.
Sometimes tho I just rip it into pieces after I roll it out
