I think something needs to be added about Kale.
Love your sense of humor... you've made me laugh so many times. How about quinoa? I'm not even sure what it is... I probably like it.

If his doc hasn't recommended good arch support inserts for his shoes, I recommend he look into it.
I've worn custom made insoles for 40 years and swear by them. Although they're expensive, I'm only on I think my fifth pair in those 40 years, which makes them pretty cheap on a prorated basis. I think the pair I'm using now, which I got in 2010, was something like $350, about half of which was covered by insurance. This pair will last many more years.

The custom insole route is great, but they're pretty expensive. The Superfeet run about $50-$80 depending on where you buy them. Our son worked at REI and said they had people come in with Rx's from their docs for these things and when Mike asked his foot doc about them he said they're great for proper support which will help avoid bone spurs and plantar fasciitis . Our son even wears them all the time now. Looks like they should last a good long time.

We're off shortly to go pick up Miles. When we get up early to do this it feels like it did when we had to get up for work!!

Quinoa is a grain that's high in protein. You cook it like you would rice. I think it's pretty bland by itself, but you can add things to it. There's recipes for eating it hot or cold.

Johnny, I truly hope that the "Old Timers" don't get tired of a re-hash, so to speak .. and I also truly hope the "New Timers" will gain some degree of insight into the guy that took those early steps back when the roots were still taking hold .. and, when and if the need ever arose again for any of us, and I had the material to work with, I'd do it again (if I were able) .. there is a certain Native American guy that I always think of when I re-play the TX vid ..

I think that anyone that reads will it will garner what Tex really meant to a good many of us and will never tire of it. If anything - they will hope that some day they will be remembered as graciously.

I found it. I couldn't find the reply button for the longest time in the other thread, and couldn't figure out for the longest time what was wrong with my eyes that I couldn't manage to find the reply button...lol.. but even if I am sometimes slow on the uptake, I did manage to figure it all out..

Therefore, TA DA! I have arrived! (insert evil laugh here)

.....Matt....what are you doing up this late ? :(
Up this early actually. One of the phones got a couple of messages and woke me up. Now I was up so I was just lounging in the bed. Had to do something to break the boredom as I obviously wasn't going back to sleep. It'll be naptime this afternoon for sure.

Similar to rice then, you cannot just eat plain rice or its rather yucky.. but cook it with some whole spice in it; whole nutmeg, cardamon seed, whole clove, a cinnamon stick, a bay leaf, some salt and you have a lovely side dish! (or for a change up some turmeric, a bay leaf, salt and a cardamon seed or two with whole anise... and the list goes on for more change-ups!)

So I would assume some playing with various spices would be in order for Quinoa cooking as well!

:)

No chance of that for me. Some enjoy favored child status but I'm not one of them. I actually find the worship a little annoying but there's no reward in criticizing it. That's OK, it is what it is.
