This morning's nature observations created some interesting but odd pictures as I tried with very limited success to hide from these skittish creatures and use the proper magnification for pics that I had to take quickly, often before the camera was focused properly.

This lizard is about 9" tip to tip (nose/tail) and brilliant green. Greener than Kermit the Frog. Neon green. Anoles I've known all my life. I really don't think it's one. Might be but, if it is it's a genetic mutant. Easily stands out against a lush St Augustine lawn. Believe me DE lawns DE be lush round here! Watered every other day, rain or shine (nincowpoops!)

Yeah, that's completely true, but the microwave can do a rather remarkable job of getting them close to what they were.

The thing is that I will be closer to being the same tomorrow as I am today if I curb my impulse to scarf down most or all of the dozen. Been there, done that, lots of times.

Reminds me of being stationed in Key West. I don't if they've widened the Overseas Highway but in 1980 it was two lanes all the way to Homestead, Florida. Kinda scary if we'd ever had to evacuate. Luckily never did.
