It was a stunningly beautiful day on the island today. Our first cold front of the year passed through, and it left clear dry skies and marvelous sunshine. It was a nice 74 degrees with a sweet breeze. I LOVE this place!! If I could just have my cat and my dog with me, I could care less if I EVER go back home. There's no city or traffic noise here. There's no traffic to talk about. I should have peeled the lawn chair out of my trunk and set a spell on the back of the flight line facing the bayou. I sure miss you folks in the HO!

I think when they're speaking French in the French Quarter they call that Joie de Vivre. Wunnerful!
That's adding something healthy to something unhealthy, not doubling down on the unhealthy. ETA: There were a number of years when I would play tennis with a cigarette in my mouth... my point of view was the same then as it is now. Something healthy and something unhealthy at the same time is better than nothing healthy at all.

You're absolutely right! The healthy may not undo the unhealthy. But, there's no point in compounding the unhealthy and having that much more to recover from!

Doree and I are fixing to get on the road for Virginia from South Florida. We're going to try and make this another "straight through" trip by splitting the driving duties between us. We've already "pilled" the cat and walked the hound. Another cup of coffee and it's "On the Road Again." Just mentioning this so you all can keep us in your prayers for a safe trip. I'll try to keep you informed of our progress and even post a few pics. Nice thing is that once I'm back in Virginia I will be back on the real computer and can join you all in the Hangout.
