Spoons for sale!!!

Huh???

Good morning everyone! Hope you all have a wonderful Monday. No more fires ok? Gotta go for a 24 hour halter monitor today. As a medical test goes it's pretty easy, just a pain to get that sticky stuff off the skin afterward. After my first shower after having those leads removed I caught my reflection in the mirror - OMG! I'm bleeding!! Each spot was bright red! Turns out it was the red fuzz from my towels. Sheesh, scared myself.

Here are some TV shows withdrawn from the memory bank, from the same general era as I Love Lucy and I Married Joan: My Little Margie; Topper; The Gale Storm Show; Pete and Gladys; Perry Mason.
I remember all those shows! I was really young, maybe up to 8 yo when they faded away. Then came Hazel & Dobie Gillis.

Don't remember Pete and Gladys, but do remember all the others. How about Medic, Dr. Wellby, The Millionaire (I'm still waiting for Michael Anthony to show up at our door) The Honeymooners, the Red Skelton Show, Groucho Marx, Queen for A Day, the Jack Parr show. Actually, I was surprised a few years ago that my 30 year old daughter was very familiar the I Love Lucy Show. Here she'd been watching the reruns for awhile. I guess some young'ns do appreciate real comedy.

Allll of those were such great shows. most things now are just lame, not really funny. Actors trying to "act" funny instead of really being funny.

It's a natural tendency for "older folks" to dismiss current talent and praise only the talent that was around when we were younger.

I never have subscribed to that philosophy. Considering how long I've felt that "different" does not mean "worse", I believe I can safely say that I will always appreciate the old AND the new, as well as everything in between.

JMHO: This thread spends too much time for my tastes being critical of today and remembering yesterday through the rose colored glasses that are lent to history the further removed it becomes.

I thought that after a certain age women didn't wear halters? Good luck with the test. I've had the privilege of wearing that device myself. I didn't enjoy it and it didn't record correctly the first time so of course I had to wear a different one again. PVC. Premature Ventricular Contractions. Doc says they're ok as long as they are singular. Don't want too many in a row.
