Oh wow, you going to have casts on both arms? Man, that reindeer really did a number on you. Hope you feel better soon.

I know "The Rat" has been missing lately but all is going very well and I can't remember when I've been this darn happy. Hope everyone has a wonderful day doing whatever it is you want to do, with whoever you want to do it with, while eating whatever you want to eat. And think about me while you are at it because the only thing I have sweet to eat is a $47.00 fruitcake that is missing. . . the fruit. (guess they thought I was more nutty) Not to mention I drove 120 miles to get it. Which proves it!

Well..I guess I can't bore you with a little video of my home and Christmas decorations, sorry:D

I tried a few times with the cheap camcorder i bought..even my GD couldn't figure out the dang thing...took it back for a refund, got out my lil Trac phone last night, waited for the outside timer to turn on the few decorations outside...finally, well after dark, went outside to see what the problem was...the outside outlets...both of them...stopped working.

No problem... this morning I got out my lil cheap Tracphone and videoed my lil ole heart out...Christmas music, the outside( minus being lit up), the tree in the sunporch all lit, so on and so forth...played it back...great job Kay!.... went to get the cord that plugs into the puter....no cord...no where...

S'alright...there was some cussing on it anyway....

When my daughter was young - her friends in school told her that there was no such thing as Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and all the other little things that add a touch of excitement to a child's life. They told her that only dumb kids believe in those things.

Well, she asked me about it and admitted she had caught me putting extra presents under the tree the year before late at night and kind of knew and one time when I was putting a silver dollar under her pillow I had woken her up, but she pretended to still be asleep because she still wanted the dollar...

But, what she wanted to know was how long was she supposed to believe.

I told her you believe as long as you want to believe, because once you stop believing then you will lose that little bit of magic (excitement) that comes from believing. The thrill that comes from seeing Santa or rushing out to see what Santa had brought. The clutching thrill you had when you found that old tooth replaced with something shiny under your pillow. The jumping joy and excitement from finding the most eggs during the hunt... All a touch of magic.

This is getting a little long so I am going to cut this short with this...

I am 59 years old and I still get a small thrill from seeing Santa in the mall or watching the kids in line. I still volunteer for coloring the eggs for the hunt and I am a very good hider.

To this day, I still want to share in the thrills that I had when I was a small child with whoever I can... I still believe and I want others to still believe.

Sometimes and I mean just sometimes I wonder why I bother, then I see the small smiles, the excitement the kids have and the warmth coming from the people around the kids and I know why...

So, I have just one thing to say to all. If you are feeling down today - find a child (call one on the phone) and say Merry Christmas to them or ask them what Santa brought them. Their energy might and I do say - just might restore a little bit in you today and you may also remember and retain the joys you used to once enjoy...

Merry Christmas...

Beautiful...absolutely beautiful...thank you!

Good Christmas Morning, Porchers!! My Christmas joy comes from just being home.

Last night for the first time in 8 years, I was able to attend the family annual Christmas Eve dinner. Every year it used to be at my father's house, but now that he and my step mom are getting up in age, we do it at her youngest son's home.

It was fairly quiet and low key as a lot of changes have taken place in 8 years. Children grow up. Others move away. Still, I needed to see my father and step mom.

There was plenty of shrimp and crab gumbo, boudin, and potato salad. And, of course, my step-mom's famous pecan cake. I was tired, but I was at peace.

What a grand time you had...I'm happy for you!
