Yea, they built a few exceptions into the law - if they are considered heavy duty, dimmable, 3 way etc. they are still allowed - they can also be imported - just not manufactured - that is why you can find them readily on line...
Remember - there is always a loop hole with everything... nuff said...
You know I'm amazed at how many things you can watch online. I can get nearly everything I get on dish and HBO is $5 cheaper. The one thing missing is the locals. I am pretty sure Dish doesn't have an option for locals only you have to sign up for their cheapest package which is basically online sales and religious and locals $34 a month.
I can only get the 3-way at our store. The smaller ones are some kind of energy efficient ones and CFLs, but they don't seem to be selling very well. Never liked them. I like the LED ones much better.
Well, since we are at the start of a new year and I have not provided an update for awhile - I figured it was about time to do it.
The current Back Porch thread Part 4 was started by MikeE3, on Aug 23, 2015. Approximately 132 days ago.
We are currently at post number 13,550 - so that means we have been averaging about 103 posts per day fairly consistently.
Now we have had slow days with only a few posts, but there have been enough busy days that the slow ones got drowned out by the following rush of posts that followed.
Topics - to many to lists - a plethora of random thoughts have been diced sliced and chewed over the last 4.5 months. We have made a lot of new friends over this time - Welcome to all of them and to the lurkers that still have not come out of hiding also...
We are currently approaching the end of this thread and the startup of part 5 around the 17th of this month.
@MikeE3 You might want to start getting your thoughts together now... It is just around the corner and coming up fast.

Nope they cannot be legally imported for resale in the USA after the specified date for each type of bulb. Unless they are listed as speciality bulbs. And they are legally required to meet certain specs for the specialty classification.
however an individual might be able to buy them from a foreign souce for persoanl use. Not sure on that. But a retailer cannot legally import them.

Most of what I have are on my PC from years of collecting.
Well I see Dish has something called the welcome pack for $20 a month which has about 2 channels we watch plus the locals. Roku I can get Sling with HBO,Starz and several others both ESPNs History TLC TMS lotsa stuff for $40 plus Netflix and Amazon and I would save about $50 a month. I am getting to really like Amazon they have some addon channels too so I could save $30 a month and have HBO Starz, Showtime, Max plus all the movies they have and series. Amazon has really changed up its programming. Plus free shipping of all the goodie you can buy. Worth thinking about. All we get now on Dish is HBO and a ton of crap we don't watch or listen to 50 music channels 25 religious channels, 20 shopping channels. Sheesh all I want from dish is the locals.$110 a month and still have to pay for netflix and amazon

My new year started out with a BIG ole bang!!!!!!!
My GD got the mail for me a few days ago...nothing good, flyers...tons of flyers as usual... a few letter-size envelopes, one from Medicare and one from GM....Medicare was my latest statement and I thought GM was basically some legal jargon but a little bit ago I decided to open them anyway...good thing I did....
inside the GM envelope was a check for $500.00!!!! Some legal jargon...but who cares!
