Would she fit in one of the soft sided pet carriers that are the size of a carry on? I've seen people fly with those. Maybe talk to your vet to see if there's a mild sedative, not for her to sleep, but to keep her calm and try the carrier. Her personality would have to be mellow though. Can you take her with you to Ginny's mother's? Or bring Ginny's mother to your house?
Yeah I think she would fit ok but she is far from mellow. I think she needs therapy LOL, IDK for sure how she would handle the whole thing. We thought about driving but its 1600 miles not sure how that would be either. Plus if I went I probably couldn't set foot outside. Too Hot! Plus to go to the spare bedroom its a lot of stairs which IDK about either.

No her mom is 90 and can't be here we have stairs. She is not calm but was thinking if she had tranqs she might be. If you go SWA you can get a 5 hour flight with connection in Phoenix. No straight thru to El Paso. Don't know how her moms Ahole caregiver would feel about it, Ginnys brother. He thinks that his place now, which of course its not
There sure are tranquilizers a dog can have for travelling. Depending on the dosage they csn keep them just mellow or snoozing. We used to prescribe them for dogs at my clinic all the time.

Legs be sure to ask your vet about them. Also one thing we used to suggest to clients who were traveling with their dog for the first time was to give the dog a dosage a few says before the actual trip to make sure that dosage achieves the result you want and that there are no problems.

Kratom is on its way to being classified an opiate. I have been warned to stay away from anything that masks pain, because it is a message saying "Don't do that!!"

The prosthetician was behind schedule, spent a lot of time with the amputee who was before me. I have another appointment in three weeks, and can cancel if I have no problems. I am supposed to wear it for an hour and a half, three times a day, but given that my body is adjusting fine to the boots I have been wearing, I am going to full-time quickly. Will probably be using an over-the counter brace on my left to be able to get more walking in without problems. I borrowed a hair-dryer from a neighbor to stretch my crocs to fit.

Yep I think snoozing or very mellowed out would be good. Could take her out at Phoenix but the layover is fairly short there.

I wish it wasn't so hard for me to do things. Seems like everything is a hassle anymore. I'm trying to stick with this diet of eating the right time, one problem I have is like today started eating at 1 finally got done at 3:30 now I will be full till 6 or later, if I drink my next shake I won't be able to eat till 8 or later, if I don't might be able to eat around 6 or 7 but only one shake. I can't take my meds on a full stomach or eat directly after or they don't work, can't sleep well at night but when I get up at 0430 I can sit in my recliner and sleep till 10 so I don't get started with a shake till then. I can't drink coffee so have switch to Green tea still has some caffeine which helps. So all I drink anymore is Perrier and Tea. Found some really good tv dinners of sorts, Stouffers Classics. They are just my size and actually taste good. That's what I end up eating for breakfast.

This whole thing would be easier if my damned stomach would empty faster. I lost more weight then I had gained, went from 138 to 141 pre radiation after 135. My BP at last doc appt was 132/28 cardio said thats not unusual for heart patients. I've been avoiding going to the VA at all because of the flu, I have a friend who got the flu, she had the flu shot, but she has a bad tricuspid valve that has been repaired and she is around 70 also, so hoping she will be ok, she lives near Atlanta. Definitely don't need the flu.

Well my alarm just went off for dinner and I'm still full from lunch. I have to have 5 alarms set to remind me to take protein, eat lunch and dinner, take symbicort.

I really have no problems at all compared to Iffy who I think of often. I feel so bad for him. My life is fairly simple compared to what he is going thru.

That figures I thought it was made from the leaves of a tree that grows in another country.

Yep you are right, now it doesn't have to be from the poppy it just has to be a synthetic that reacts with certain receptors. It's sort of like vaping and tobacco. I just don't get it anymore. It is made from the leaf of a tree. I just heard about it from a friend that people use it to lessen the withdrawal effect, again like vaping and cigarettes. Hey maybe the govt will shut down at midnite anyway.

Well Gabapentin has also become a drug of abuse so no more of that. Cut back on the Tylenol also it is next. Oh and Duct Tape also under the right circumstance. Ya know I never knew we elected so many physicians to office. I'm sure feeling better now that I know our medical problems are being cared for by politicians. The Gabapentin is really true. Well sort of there is a website about that. When I took it it gave me the shakes really bad, which was weird. Next is anesthetic free surgery because it is better for you. Well I'm glad I'm within the guidlines set by the politicians now.

Ok, how about a house sitter to stay with the pup and you go to Ginny's mother's? We check a local site called Nextdoor and have found helpful info and recommendations. Dog sitters and dog walkers are often looking for work and they're more trustworthy if they're local. Just ask on the site. We have a neighbor's daughter come here to bring in mail, water plants, take care of the house and our cats while we're gone and she's wonderful.

You know Janet read this and it reminded me of an old Bill Cosby record talking about his parents. His parents didn't believe in babysitters, he said their idea was, What leave my kid at home with a stranger I'd rather leave him by himself. It was a pretty funny record. He really was a pretty funny comedian back in the 60's. Some of his stuff, others meh.

Last year my daughter almost lost her house. A series of events tore everything apart. It was a close call.

She semi-recovered, but has been limping along ever since. Slowly getting further and further behind. If only she could have just caught all the way up last year!

She may likely lose her house in about 30 days. She got drunk and told me tonight. I had no idea! She's been slowly falling further and further behind. Something always comes up. She's been trying to tread water month after month after month.

I can't believe she could stay so relatively calm and in control! You would never know she was in such a mess by how she acts.

I feel like such a spoiled child, thinking about my petty problems. Maybe it's time I got a REAL job instead of this convalescing, semi-retired c**p! They cut my hours months ago because business was bad. So, I haven't even been contributing other than picking kids up and a little housework. No money at all.

Of course, at this point it would be too late. All I can do is give her my tax refund when it comes and hope it helps. Although, it's a drop in the bucket.

She's going to try to call them tomorrow. She has been trying to call them. I don't know. I'm just kinda freakin' out right now.

All this while she's working lots of overtime, going to school, and raising her 3 boys. She's taking the same classes that she was trying to take last year when this happened, the 3 classes that she flunked because of all the stuff that happened. One of those classes is the last class she has to take to sit for her CPA exam.

Make it go away!

Oh my gosh Dancing ... sure sounds like her problems won't go away fast or easily ... but I'm hoping for the best outcome and it starts moving in a positive direction.

Thanks, Mike. I just wish I had known earlier. I may have been able to help more. I'm sure I could have, at least indirectly.

Will see what happens in the next few days.

Actually, she can come up with a fair amount now and most of it by the end of the month. So, it's gonna be real close. Theoretically, it should work. I think. She'll just be behind a little bit at that point. I hope. I think. Fingers crossed.

It is income tax time, after all.

I'm so happy, I can spit, cause this morning at the cardiologist office, the doctor gave my man the go ahead to shed the LifeVest and resume all activities. Of course, he needs to pace himself......His EF rate increased to the point where the doctor wore a big grin on his face. His next appointment is in 3 months, at which time the EF should increase even more. :)

Prayers work!!!!! This man of mine weighed 149 lbs. 3 months ago, and was so weak, couldn't even hold our granddaughter Maria. Now, he is back to his normal weight of ±168 and has that devilish spark back in his eyes.

Praise God!!!
