My oldest said a word or two at around a year. Then he stopped. He wouldn't speak. He just pointed.

Then we moved around his second birthday, to a neighborhood full of kids. Within a week, he was speaking in complete sentences! It's all about motivation.
My daughter wasn't a talker. She just didn't have much to say. She did listen a lot, & when she did say something it wasn't baby talk. It's as tho she practiced in her head, & then surprised us. She did hum. No singing, but when she was playing & focusing on something she hummed. The more focused she got the louder she hummed. It ess hilarious!

She did hum.
I used to find myself dancing, then realize I was listening to music in my head. It turns out I was ALWAYS listening to music in my head. Sometimes music that made me dance. Sometimes music that would make me cry. Anytime I would stop and pay attention, it was there.

Last year my daughter almost lost her house. A series of events tore everything apart. It was a close call.

She semi-recovered, but has been limping along ever since. Slowly getting further and further behind. If only she could have just caught all the way up last year!

She may likely lose her house in about 30 days. She got drunk and told me tonight. I had no idea! She's been slowly falling further and further behind. Something always comes up. She's been trying to tread water month after month after month.

I can't believe she could stay so relatively calm and in control! You would never know she was in such a mess by how she acts.

I feel like such a spoiled child, thinking about my petty problems. Maybe it's time I got a REAL job instead of this convalescing, semi-retired c**p! They cut my hours months ago because business was bad. So, I haven't even been contributing other than picking kids up and a little housework. No money at all.

Of course, at this point it would be too late. All I can do is give her my tax refund when it comes and hope it helps. Although, it's a drop in the bucket.

She's going to try to call them tomorrow. She has been trying to call them. I don't know. I'm just kinda freakin' out right now.

All this while she's working lots of overtime, going to school, and raising her 3 boys. She's taking the same classes that she was trying to take last year when this happened, the 3 classes that she flunked because of all the stuff that happened. One of those classes is the last class she has to take to sit for her CPA exam.

Make it go away!
((((((((((all y'all))))))))) so sorry things haven't gotten better. Really hope the tax refunds will be enough to save the house and at least kinda get her back on her feet.

I'm so happy, I can spit, cause this morning at the cardiologist office, the doctor gave my man the go ahead to shed the LifeVest and resume all activities. Of course, he needs to pace himself......His EF rate increased to the point where the doctor wore a big grin on his face. His next appointment is in 3 months, at which time the EF should increase even more. :)

Prayers work!!!!! This man of mine weighed 149 lbs. 3 months ago, and was so weak, couldn't even hold our granddaughter Maria. Now, he is back to his normal weight of ±168 and has that devilish spark back in his eyes.

Praise God!!!
that's so wonderful to hear!!!

I should use my daughter as a model. She deals with it so well and keeps such a positive attitude.
No you shouldn't. She may just be burying it, and that's not good. I've done the same, and it comes back to bite ya when ya aint lookin.

Anyway, hubs had all kinds of tests prescribed by the cardiologist and it seems everything is fine. He just has a left branch bundle block. It may never amount to anything.
wonderful that nothing serious is wrong!

Today, that niece had twins... a boy and a girl, Aidan and Lida. Papa Zel looks a bit worn out but I'm pretty sure that mama Julie is more so.
Too precious! congrats on this and on your vaperversary!!! I love that "odds" commercial also.

For comparison, I'd rank Frank's as much milder than any of these in my list. Barely useful as a hot sauce.
agree. But it sure is tasty. I ate it on crackers one time cuz I just wanted the flavor. Jup it dripped through the holes, but it was good. I will say that as it sits and ferments, it does get much hotter. I bought a gallon jug one time......not my smartest idea.

I missed my own vapeversary yesterday! It's my 4th, do I get to order 4 gifts for myself?
Wahoooooo congrats!! and absolutely!

I started watching Good Morning Vietnam
Love this and have it on dvd. Have watched it a zillion or so times. Jup Garfield is good...have that on dvd also. But I think I prefer the second one......a tail of two kitties so make sure to check that one out also

I haven't been on the forum in several weeks.
good to see you! And was great to talk with you. We definitely need to do that a lot more often.

Just to confuse things, during the pre-op exam, the doctor found Atrial Flutter (AFL), so there was a big kerfluffle about whether I could stand to be anesthetized for the cataract operations. It turns out that expert opinion is that, yes, I can go through with the cataract operations, but then I MUST get something done about the AFL. This means maybe medication for the AFL, blood-thinner medication (@ $400/month forever), and maybe another heart-catheterization (yeecchhh) to ablate (burn) a gap in the nerve cycle to kill the short circuit that is causing the flutter. As Bette Davis is reputed to have said, "Getting old isn't for sissies."
hate to hear about the AFL. But glad the one eye is done and things are getting better with it.

shes going in for a test on ther arteries
glad to hear this. It floored me when the doc said no worries on the no or reduced pulse in her feet.

Some people will believe the most bizarre things, and there is no convincing them otherwise. I would prefer to let them alone.
Ron White said it best. You can't fix stupid.

Well, today was a 'Grand' day...

... at our youngest and only 'princess' grandchild (Dakota) school's Grandparents Day!!

And yes, shoulda stuck my istick 40 in da udder pocket...
that is just too precious!!

until I was advised that Smart TVs are not worth the money because the quality of the picture is about the same as on non-smart TVs.
for the most part that seemed to be true. But I was amazed at a cheapo 55" 4k smart tv that the kids got a couple years ago. it's a hisense brand. the only issue I've seen with it is that you can't add some apps like hulu. but we did a trial of hulu and weren't impressed. Unless we just didn't find everything it had. Anyhow, the pic on this hisense is really impressive. The tv was $325 I think, and it's got a better pic than the kid's other big tvs

Have ya'll seen the latest Geico commercial? How much stupider can they get? Now they are using Manatee's in their commercial.
jup it is stupid, but I love manatees.

He seems pretty good today, just a little bit of a runny nose. Lovely day for a walk AND it’s his 1st Birthday today.
wow just doesn't seem possible. What a cutie pie! Glad he's better.

I keep wondering if I should try to clean my windshield (maybe if I cleaned the outside, too, LOL)
welcome to the thread.

Well, I think I just set a record or at least a record for me. I just had one battery and one 2.5ml tank last me into the fourth day of vaping thanks to this cold...

Started getting my taste buds back this morning and definitely had to clean the tank since the stuff in there was getting kind of discolored... Probably could of made it a full four days if not for that...
hope y'all get over this soon!

My son was like that. Didn't talk really til he was 3. But he did everything late. Was almost 17 months before he walked. He's really smart though.

@subwaynm good to see you pop in.

Sometimes helpful to clean the headlamps as well ;)

Yepper! Fer a temporary solution fer fogged HLs (fer a month or two), wipe sum ATF (automatic transmission fluid) on da headlight lenses/covers. I finally replaced my headlight assemblies to eliminate da issue after several months of being cheap. What a diff!

Note: sum models have replaceable HL covers. But nowadays, it's an a$$embly unit.

Twix my cataract surgeries and new HL assemblies, I can now actually see and target da bicyclists dat fail to follow da same road rules as I...

I seriously just lost one of my mods. I had it in my hand yesterday. I've searched everywhere. I'm so mad I just ordered a new one. Does this qualify as "older folks" stuff? No doubt the second the new one comes I'll find it. So, if you see me selling a Pico, you know why o_O:mad::confused:

Welcome! Glad ya joined us!

I did that once. Lost a favorite mod, couldn't find it anywhere. Ordered another. 2 weeks later I was looking for something else and found it in a compartment of my purse I never thought to look in. Yea, some women and their purses!

I don't even have "purses." I have a "mini" purse. All it holds is my wallet, keys, phone, and a small vape. I checked all my pockets. I'm completely dumbfounded Waaaaaa :(

I hope you find it but if not, hey, you got another Pico. Can't go too wrong with that. I have 2 pink and 1 dazzling. That's my favorite one!

Yeah, but the inside is so much harder to clean!! Welcome to our little world!!

So sorry to hear you've got a winter cold! It's not the flu is it? I hope you're feeling normal soon, but don't over do it. You may start feeling better, but you're still healing. You don't want a relapse!!

I don't know if it's a case of CRS or just a distracted mind, but either way it's very frustrating! Over the past 6 years we've accumulated enough PV's that if we think we've lost one we don't panic and just wait for it to turn up. Over the years I've only truly lost 1 and unfortunately it was a ProVari. I was being very careful in the ladies room and put it on the toilet paper dispenser to make sure I didn't drop it anywhere and ended up walking out without it!! Unfortunately I didn't realize it wasn't in my purse for about 1/2 hour and by then somebody walked off with it. Didn't even turn it into the Lost and Found. Lesson learned. At home though the missing PV always turns up. Sometimes it's in the cushions, but mostly it's just on a table somewhere and we can't see for looking!! You'll probably find it when you're not looking for it!

When Desert Storm broke out my was in the area. Needless to say my stress limit was peaked. I lost the coffee pot one morning. I had one cup of coffee but wanted another. I looked all over for that darn thing. Had to stop and get a cup from the local donut shop. Of course, I had to pick up a couple dozen donuts for my troops at work. I finally found the darn thing in the freezer when I got home. Stress can do strange things.
I'm sure you will find your mod, probably right after you get a replacement.

Don't sell it! Put it aside for next time you lose your mod!

Same here. I always have a spare or two all loaded up and ready to go in my bedroom. Forgot one in the kitchen? No problem. Just use what I have where I'm sitting and pick the other one up next time I'm in the kitchen.
At home though the missing PV always turns up. Sometimes it's in the cushions, but mostly it's just on a table somewhere and we can't see for looking!! You'll probably find it when you're not looking for it!
Tube mods are the worst. They tend to roll up against things or roll up underneath the edge of a plate where it's invisible.

With tools, it has been my experience that when replacing a "lost" tool (really just a tool that I have misplaced), when I go to put the new tool away, I frequently discover that this is where I misplaced the original tool. Oddly, I can't pretend to put away a phantom new tool; I must really have a new, physical replacement in my hand. Sometimes this doesn't work. I confess that there are some tools that I have had to replace as many as three times before this method discloses where one of the originals has hidden itself. In a way this can be good; eventually I will have an instance of the tool in any location where I might look for it. (It also provides the opportunity to get slight variations of some particular tool; having a 10" long 1/2" wrench AND a 6" long 1/2" wrench just adds to your versatility.)

I can't feel that having an extra bit of vaping equipment is bad. Remember: backups, and backups for your backups. When I am suckered into attracted by some new bit of vaping equipment, I generally get one to see if I like it, and if I do, I get several more as backups for my newest EDC. I've never wished I hadn't done that. Equipment fails or wears out and it always does this at the most inconvenient moment. (I carry a complete kit of replacement and repair items - including e-juice and charged batteries - in my car. Even if something breaks down while I am away from home, I can get back to vaping in a flash.)

For new vapers, equipment failure (or running out of e-juice or charged batteries) is one of the commonest reasons for backsliding. It is just too easy to go out and get a pack of smokes. Backups, and backups for for your backups!

More on tools:

I'm a hobby machinist and metalworker (and to a lesser extent a hobby woodworker) so I have multiple shops (I do electronics as well). I have fairly complete sets of general tools in each shop. I also have specialized sets of tools by each machine (lathe, milling machine, bandsaw(s), tablesaw, chopsaw, sander, planer, jointer, wood lathe, etc.) to fit any bolt or screw that needs regular adjustment or tightening on each machine. If I don't make up these specialized sets I find that there are always tools missing from the general sets and have to track them down when I need them.
