Gorgeous! Those two sets of freezing weather just about drove me packing to move to Hawai…well not really but I thought about it.

A friend gave me a brug this year, really small but it's growing. No idea what color it will be.
Yes, indeedy those freezes made me realize that I would be starting on a clean palette.

Those brugs are very heavy feeders so make sure you fertilize 2- 3x a week.
I use MG Tomato fertilizer cause they are in the same family....nightshade.....and my gardening buds use it a lot with a great deal of success.......I also use alfalfa pellets mixed with perlite added to my 2 cu.ft. bag of soil. Just mix em all up for an extremely rich and fertile soil.
Right now, I have about a dozen+ shoots, some named and registered, some NOID (no id).
Anyway, back to your original broadcast on the Porch.

So....I ordered two 22" planter pots, and then proceeded to stay up all night...trying to decide what plants I want to put in them...o_O My silly dog decided that I shouldn't sleep past 8 AM and was quite vocally insistent about it, so....here I am...

Thinking about getting an epiphyllum for either a hanging pot or elevated on a plant stand..:)
I have a cereus also an epiphyllum. A neighbor gave me a slip about 40 years ago. It blooms every year and the scent is magical!

Thanks for the fertilizer tip.

Funny about the term NOID. It's used a lot in the orchid world so I always thought it was an orchid term.

I even thought of taking up drinking again but 2 beers and I felt sick. So I had a couple of cigarettes also same effect. Going to try a different beer, thats the answer.

Sort of reminds me of the Nazi's. What do you do with the old and crippled people? Why kill them of course.
Legs, should you be cutting back so much, since it is your choice? I know that health problems can contribute to depression, but I suspect that you are making yourself sick by cutting yourself off from the helps available.

Heres another tidbit of info. Of all the OD's with this terrible, tragic epidemic only <25% of them were people who were on them legally and didn't abuse them, so cutting back the Rx's isn't going to make that much difference, it's the other 75% that died from H and illicit Fentanyl and Crack and the other stuff. But the funny part is the American people who don't need them almost unanimously think it is beig caused by overprescribing, this is thanks to the propaganda machine. They have no idea its the hardcore people.

But hey they have another Football entering the arena. Adderal which has become a prescription that is mostly prescribed to ADD and ADHD of whom are mostly adults now not kids. Figure that one out. Maybe I need that one.

everything reminds me of what a weak person I am for getting hooked on these things and how the majority of others don't have this problem and don't let it bother them.

I don't see you that way at all, Legs. Dealing with chronic pain does NOT make one weak, at all!! And I suspect "the majority of others" blithely go along with whatever the doc prescribes, after all, they are gods, right? Choosing to do nothing is, perhaps, "weak." Choosing to do something different to deal with a recalcitrant problem is a positive step, whether or not the steps first chosen work as hoped.

When I got in my mood which I know is caused from anxiety I thought to self, self take a xanax thats what they are for. I have been saving them and taking less cause that is what the govt recommends. Sure as heck after a short nap that come few and far between I felt fine. Amazing

The problem being the govt has the docs so scared of prescribing, I've read a lot of stories of older Americans being cut off but one really stands out in my mind. It was written by a daughter whose mother was on meds for pain which she also had many maladies to warrant them. She started having panic attacks in her weaning and went to a pulmonologist because she was having them so bad she couldn't breath. Her first doc heard that she was prescribed Ativan for her panic disorder and gave her the choice of one or the other. She decided on the Ativan because it scared her not to be able to breathe. During this process she got so much pain she had to use a walker to get around at all, on her way to an appt she tripped on her walker fell and broke her hip. She was 69, admitted to the hospital which with her breathing problems she acquired pneumonia. She died from that. But like her daughter said, if she had been able to take her pain meds the whole thing wouldn't have happened. The daughter of course blames the doc that wouldn't prescribe if he had she would still have her mom.

This is the kind of thing that happens everyday in this country, many are much more gruesome tho. To me it is insanity, to be able to treat something that not being treated could cause death, then not treated because the govt scares the medical community so bad they won't, not because they can't because there is nothing they can do. Because of fear instilled by the govt, same one that if they had this their private physician would give it to them. But they are special
