Pat..thanks so much for sharing all the pictures of your family!

I'm so glad that all of you got together! And I LOVE the psychedelic legs!:D

You are, without a doubt, one of the strongest people I've ever had the pleasure to know.

Well Ginny is getting her head either shaved or a buzz cut today. This is a sad moment for me. In a weird way it kinda makes thing more real. Now I was trying to get to the phone and hooked my foot and twisted the hell out of my knee. This is just great. Alyssa leaves tomorrow.

Look at that "LOVING" sparkle in her eyes and that gorgeous smile too . . . :D
(AND - NO I am not talking about the glare of light on the glasses, past that - the sparkle is in her eyes . . . ;) )

If I didn't see the oxygen tube, I wouldn't know she was going through anything . . . Just Sayin' . . .

So....all this rain, but...my plant pots in front are under a roof...and my being in bed for several days hasn't been good for them...The big pots are fine, but my poor hanging baskets look fried and I'm crossing my fingers they can make a comeback...

On the other hand...my veggie pot is in back and I've had to keep pouring the water out of the saucer to prevent root rot...o_O

Yes, I've been playing the switch-the-dish game with my plants too. Amazing how much rain we've gotten! I ended up just leaving those drip plates out from under the pots. A couple of my plants blew over in the wind yesterday so I had to scramble to get them potted back up. The good news is that my Gerber daisy is doing fantastic! Should be getting a bloom opening any day now which is great since I'd left it in the sun and the plant was all but dead not that long ago!

Oh no Legs! Is it possible to wrap your knee or does the prosthetic give you enough support for that? Did you put ice on it? You didn't hurt anything else did you? Maybe this would be a good time to talk to the doc about having someone come in to help you after Alyssa leaves.

Ginny is gorgeous!! And she's got just the right shaped head for that "style". I once was in line behind a young lady who just had stubble on her head and wished I could look that good. Now I'm looking at Ginny and thinking the same thing! Just think how much easier it will be not to have to deal with washing, drying and doing hair! I know, we've spent a lifetime dealing with hair and letting it identify us. Maybe it's not so important after all. Tell Ginny I said it's a perfect look for her! Bald really is beautiful!!

She's ready to do it, Legs. Hair is the last thing she wants to mess with for the moment. The impulse to stand in front of a mirror & fidget with it is built in to women. If she's feeling bad it's just a source of irritation & very draining. If it's not long enough to do anything with it takes a load off & she can ignore it. This does not mean to you what it means to her. It's not a bad thing. She has taken charge of what goes on in her life in this time. You need to get on board with her decisions. She's not going to wait for it to get patchy & ugly. She's deciding to take control get that crap off of her head when she's good & ready, not when chemo decides. Plus s h.g.h exs not shedding hair all over herself & everything else. GOOD FOR YOU, GINNY! [emoji122][emoji122][emoji122]

A small triumph:

My electric dryer stopped stopping. As soon as it was on the end part of a cycle, where no heat was being applied, the timer knob would not advance, so the drying would just keep tumbling the clothes endlessly, albeit without heat.

For a while (no, I'm not going to tell you how long a while) :pervy:, I've been dealing with this by setting the timer that's on my microwave so that I'd know when to go stop the dryer.

A couple of weeks ago, I finally got a properly routed dryer duct, which involved cutting holes in the house. The holes existed previously, but they were not aligned... the kind of thing you might expect in a doublewide mobile home. So, for 25 years I've been using one of those not terribly safe plastic dryer duct hoses, because it's the only thing that could be contorted enough to go through the unaligned 4" diameter holes.

Now, with a properly routed duct made of metal, the time had come to do something about the improper functioning of the dryer itself.

Dozens of YouTube videos and a new control timer later, the problem was not solved. I returned the timer, and ordered a resistor on Ebay. Eureka! A $10 part that was quite easy to replace got things right! Yay! It definitely gave me a feeling of accomplishment to diagnose (read: take a wild guess) what the problem might be.

On Monday, I'm having 50 cubic yards of rock delivered. The plan is to make my 800' "driveway" (read: dirt path) less susceptible to the elements and more conducive to 2 wheel drive vehicles, such as those driven by UPS and FedEx. :)
