@Iffy I have a Pride Backpacker now. My last one was demolished when I totaled my van. It is mounted in a Chrysler Pacifica and was installed WITHOUT drilling any holes in the car body or destryoying any of the seats. That's a step up from the previous one that was crammed into the van with a shoehorn. Happy for you that you're getting a replacement!

Well da 'breaks' are keepin' on keepin' on!

Da Tahoe got rear-ended today. Thankfully no one was injured and da truck (mit new paint job) wasn't harmed. Da brighter side is dat we're gonna get a new mobility scooter lift! View attachment 755009

Ginny, luv da G-baby/Granny pics! View attachment 755011

Geez, lately if it wasn't for bad luck you wouldn't have any luck at all! The good news is that bad luck doesn't last forever! Maybe the new mobility scooter is the beginning of the upturn!

Ok. We are officially moving weekend after next. Bad news is that it's an apartment, not a house.

It turns out that my daughter can't get an FHA loan to buy a house until a full year after she was behind on her other FHA loan. So, not until February or so.

She had already given notice here. So, until then we're moving into another 3 bedroom apartment. True, that means we have to make an extra move before we get a house. But, also true, she'll be very happy to get out of this nasty apartment. She hates this place.

We were hoping to, at least, rent a house in the meantime. But, it turns out her credit isn't as good as she thought it was. So, she'll be working on that while we're living in the new apartment. It seems your credit has to be better to rent a house than to buy a house. But, to buy a house, the better your credit it, the better interest rate you can get.

I haven't been in the new apartment yet. I do have a copy of the floor plan though. The rooms all look a bit smaller than this apartment. There's no question that there's definitely less closet space. We may just leave some of our stuff in storage until we buy a house. Or, maybe use this as an opportunity to thin out unnecessary stuff.

Obviously, not gonna be working on a garden any time soon!

Glad to hear at least you'll be out of the apartment you're in. It sucks to have to move twice, but what might help is to thin stuff out and then pack things that can stay in storage for several months and just don't unpack them until you do get a house. You won't have as much room for all of it anyway so this could actually be helpful. I hope things come together for you sooner than you expect.

I was able to go through settings and disable the touchpad on my laptop. My palm would touch it and cause weird things to happen.
I was the same. I have a Win 10 laptop and installed a blue tooth mouse. Heh at my age (67) and my fat arthritic hands the touch pag was a Pitta

I hated the touch pad, but forced myself to get used to it. The biggest problem was accidently touching the pad with the palm of my hand and the curser would jump to a random place in the text. What? That paragraph makes no sense! Arrrrrgh! I finally had enough and got the wireless mouse. That's lovely until I need to move the laptop to another room or out on the deck and invariably leave the mouse behind requiring another trip back to get it. Sigh. Just ain't no pleasing me!

Moving is a pain. We moved 5 times in 8 years. In the end when we both retired and got our retirement money (Superannuation) we moved out of the big smoke into a quaint rural town and purchased a house outright for cash. It depleted our retirement funds considerably and we now live on the smell of an oily rag but at least we will never have to move again. No more #&_§¶£€ Landlords. Lol, talk about downsizing possessions, even when we trashed 45% of ours it still took 2x20ft containers for the move. Congratulations on your new apartment. Hope you be happy with it.

Wow, 5 moves in 8 years ... that's nuts. Do you ever get a chance to fully unpack before packing up again?

Well shucks! It'll work out, DH. It's good to find out the things that are lacking & get them cleaned up in the meantime.

Wow we have 4 Grandkids 1 Daughter 1 GGson here all the grandkids are 17+. Needless to say it's been hectic. They thought they had better come and spend the weekend with Gramma while they can. She has been having a great time taking care of baby. Loving every minute of it. Just have to watch she doesn't get too tired but she is holding up well. Hopefully this is going to be ok but she needed it.

Wonderful ... it can get a bit crazy with all of them around but surely it so nice to see them all together.

This made me smile, Nancy really enjoyed when our family came to visit. A time she really should have stayed in bed she would stubbornly stay in the living room with our kids and the grandkids. The grandkids were 13 & 14 at the time. I took loads of pictures and she always had a huge smile all the time, The kids all ask for copies of the pictures. I loaded up numerous thumb drives.
I wrote this yesterday I just noticed I hadn't hit the Post Reply button. Old age, isn't it wonderful?
