Maybe have a look at the Logitech K520 (or whatever the latest edition is.) Full size KB and mouse, low cost, good tactile feel on the KB.

I was just going to recommend the same thing. Can't go wrong with Logitech!

Does anyone have (or know of one) a full size wireless/bluetooth keyboard they'd recommend?
Yesterday I picked up a Microsoft Wireless 850 Desktop keyboard mouse combo from Best buy for just under $30 after tax. The keyboard and mouse use the same USB transceiver so it only ties up one USB port. It is a full-size keyboard that performs well with my fat fingers. I am used to a smaller Laptop keyboard so it will take me a while to get accustomed to. The mouse is also a bit larger than I prefer. I was a bit surprised that the batteries supplied were Duracell. One thing I really liked was the fact that the keyboard and mouse were plug and play.

I have a Logitech K360 works very well with a Logitech M570 trackball uses the same usb dongle. I have been very happy with both the trackball keeps not working with the ball part of it not making the cursor move correctly but I have had it for quite a while. They were under $50 for both.

Pat,

Have you removed and cleaned the ball with alcohol? Used to have to do that occasionally back in da days of yore; plus sprayed the potentiometers with contact cleaner.

Many times Johnny. I have to do it about once a month and sometimes it works but a lot of them I have to rub it on my forehead. It seems to be getting worse. Not sure if I may have screwed it up cleaning the little window inside by cleaning it with alcohol or what, but it sticks a lot lately, which kind of messes up one of the reasons I went with a trackball, Accuracy.

Same with the Logitech combos, just the one USB dongle for both.

Not track ball, but back in the days of corded mice with ball I used to have to periodically clean the rollers inside. My big problem was cat hair sticking to them and jamming them so they wouldn't turn. Maybe have a look at those?

You beat me to it. At work it was a running joke when our IT person would go by and ask if we'd cleaned our balls today. It really cut down on the number of complaints she got from people saying they needed a new mouse.

You folks mentioned a USB dongle ... do these keyboards support bluetooth directly without a dongle? The keyboard is to be used with an iPad so no place to plug a dongle into it. I'll go google the keyboards and see if I can tell, but if you know, I'd appreciate your response.

The day didn't get started all that well. It actually started last night as I was getting ready for bed. I tipped over my water glass and some water got on my laptop's keyboard. I cleaned it as well as I could. This morning I could not sign-in to my laptop. The "A" key and "S" key were inoperative. So my day started with a speed run to Best Buy. 30 bucks later and I'm now logged in. The Wireless Keyboard and Mouse combo are working well. Now, I just need to get used to the two of them.

Anything that gets rid of wires is a joy to me! Wires make me crazy. Our grandkids will probably live in a wireless world and I'm so happy for them! It probably won't take you long at all to get used to the wireless mouse and keyboard and you'll never want to go back - well, except that now you have 3 things to keep together. But it's more like you'd have to get used to having a wire than not. Hey, you could have posted here anyway. It would have kept us guessing.

Drop down the "more details", both of those list

General
Device TypeKeyboard
InterfaceBluetooth, 2.4 GHz
Max Operating DistanceUp to 33 ft
Wireless ReceiverUSB wireless receiver

(Sorry, cut and paste deletes formatting)

The way I read that, the computer needs an input for the wireless USB receiver. So I'm confused, since that is what built in bluetooth is to get away from...

Maybe narrow your search to IPad bluetooth keyboard or similar?

The Microsoft 850 I mentioned requires the USB dongle. Neither the keyboard nor mouse are Bluetooth compatible.
