That's pretty weird Paul Allen dying. I guess money can't save your life. I'm not liking being home alone. I really don't want to live if Ginny loses her battle with Cancer. It's not for me. I don't want to do anything anymore. I had a purpose when she was here now I don't.
As someone who has struggled with crippling depression since I was a preteen (60 years and more now) I can tell you that while those feeling are real, they don't have to govern you. In all those 60+ years, there are quite a few moments I would not care to have missed. I'm glad I stuck around to see what happens next.

Well Ginny is not in a good mood this morning. She had to have a male nurse help her to the bathroom and she told him she wanted a female nurse. She said she was sitting on the toilet and trying to get some help to get back to her bed. Rang the bell was yelling no one came. They left her in there for 10 min. He said he was trying to find a female nurse but she thinks he was lying about that. If they release her on Friday they are going to send her to a Nursing/Rehab facility. She'll play hell getting her meds there or help. I've been there and done that.

This will be better for both of you, and you can be there all day everyday, if you want.

Legs, I've been there also. It is doable with a positive attitude. Stop the negative. I know you have a lot of stuff going on. You have had several suggestions and links for help yet I haven't seen any followup on your part. Ask for help when you need it then take advantage of the offer. The nursing home is a great opportunity for you to get to know the nurses, aides and other patients. You have one project......Ginny. My caretaker had not only me but also a house remodel, a financial business at tax time and a death in the immediate family.

Where are all those links. I can't find them. I don't even feel like looking outside. It's been really bad this time. I don't even know what is causing me to feel like this. I tried to find those links and I should've bookmarked them or something. I don't even know how to do that. I'll tell ya, I stay in the house with the curtains shut. I need to go to town and pick up my anti biotics and I can't even seem to muster up enough to do that.

My daughter is coming Sunday and Monday then my Gdaughter on Tuesday for a week. She is going to give me a good lecture I'm sure. I need to snap out of this what ever it is. I guess I need someone to slap me in the face. I have things that need doing and I just sit here on my .... thinking about what I need to do. Then I don't do it.

The only person who can get a procrastinator to do something is the procrastinator. Procrastination is why I would rather have to show up in any kind of weather at a clinic to sit perfectly still in a chair for 3 1/2 hours 3 days a week and undergo dialysis than do it myself once a day and be ambulatory the whole time. The person who motivates you is not available right now. Motivating you is now a do-it-yourself job. Just do it.

Any time I take a day off it just means doubling up the next day 'cause nobody can do the chore but me.

So everyone is happy. YeeHaw. Try and get out of this Wo is mee attitude. She looks good but still has no strength. She called me and told me she is just there to die right before I left so I let the family know and her big sister who can be a PIA cause she is all business which is why she has so much money but she said the right things to Ginny and snapped her out of it.

She said it's a big sister secret which is fine by me. It worked great. She was crying when I sent the text to the family and she was happy when I got there. Of course after I got that call I was hurrying to get out of here and forgot everything I was supposed to bring. Tomorrow. She is really weak. Like the doctor said that chemo nearly killed her.

Where are all those links.

Hopefully, these are the post w/the links that "You" are looking for . . .

1st post: 21207667

I am sure you and those around you have checked out a lot of places for help . . . However, just in case it might be a good thing to check again, the following maybe able to provide you some assistance, especially some "Caregiver" help for Ya' both . . . Hope the links are helpful and Ya' find some assistance, even if it is only being able to talk to another caregiver for some additional support . . . ;)

FYI:

WA State - Senior Services:

American Cancer Society:

2nd post: 21212175

First - Fully understand and that can be a problem. However, most of those links are not location specific they are for WA State organizations/programs within & out of the Department of Social and Health Service (DSHS) and from the national American Cancer society that may or may not provide services in your specific area.

Those links can also direct you to those agencies/organizations in your specific area that might be able to help. AND - If I maybe so bold to suggest - given the health problems you both have and the services available - have you also check with getting Medicaid (even just being accepted for Food Stamps will offer even more benefits - like internet for only $5-$10 a month . . . ;) ) - There is Medicaid Special Needs Program . . . BTW: You can apply online . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Medicaid Toll Free: +1-800-772-1213 TTY: +1-800-325-0778 Web: www.ssa.gov Youth with disabilities may qualify for SSI at age 18 and therefore receive Medicaid based on the individuals's income (not parents) and disability. Medicaid pays for mandatory health services. In Washington, it also covers optional services.
AND - Here are some other links to resource materials that you might find help that I found for "Stevens County":

National & Washington State Hotlines & Websites

http://mobile.4people.org/countydocs/stevens.pdf

2 Specifically are:

SENIORS
Colville Senior Center 509-684-3407 Medicare 1-800-633-4227 or TTY 1-877-486-2048

TRANSPORTATION
Rural Resources Community Action Dial-a-Ride 1-800-776-9026 Rural Resources Community Action 509-684-2961 or 1-800-776-9026 Special Mobility Services 1-800-892-4817 or 1-800-821-7167 (TDD)

BTW: Open & Check Out this Spoiler . . .
"Removed spoiler box" . . .
"Open for Home Health Care Organizations & Phone Numbers" (EDIT: These should be in your specific area)

Home care services:

Okanogan Regional Home Health Care 509-422-6721
VNA Home Health Care Services 509-534-4300
Volunteer Chore Services 509-684-5671
Life Care Solutions 509-921-6560 or toll free 1-800-475-0278 Homepage - Preferred Homecare | Lifecare Solutions, Home Medical Equipment, Home Infusion, Home Oxygen
Maxim Healthcare Services (STATEWIDE) 1-844-650-6851 Page Not Found - Maxim
N.E. Washington Health Programs - Home Health 509-935-6001 or toll free at 1-800-829-6583

S & S Home Care 1-888-875-1910 http://www.snshealthcare.com
Now, there is also . . . Catholic Charities Spokane > About Us > Service Areas > Colville Regional Office
They will provide assistance and/or help to people of any faith and they have an office in your area.
Hope this information will help you both . . . :D

3rd post: 21215041

Absolutely No Problem - It was "My" Pleasure . . . (AND - While I do not have the exact health problems you and Ginny are experiencing, I so fully understand being disabled and having many different health problems, being on a very limited income/medicaid, and not having/refused the services you need.) . . . I'm just very glad you reached out to get some assistance for you both. Hopefully, you will still check out some of the other links to see if they can provide any other assistance that is needed too (Portable Oxygen tank, etc.). More importantly, hopefully Catholic Charities can direct you to a Wound Care Clinic/Specialist/Doctor and/or also provide you with a "Wound Care Nurse" for your leg, especially since you can't continue to help Ginny and keep going without taking care of yourself too . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

EDIT . . . BTW: You may want to also check out "Washington 211" informational website for Washington State that looks as though it might be helpful too: Washington Information Network 2-1-1

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

After reading your post - might I also be so bold to strongly suggest that "You" reach out to a number of these organizations to get additional support for "YOU" - more specifically emotional support especially for caregivers.

In Addition, show this list to your " GDaughter" when she gets there on Tuesday so she can call / reach out to some of these agencies/organizations to get "You" & "Ginny" some more assistance.

Really do hope this information helps . . .

Sending - GOOD VIBES & Healthy Thoughts - to You Both . . . ;)

Waiting for Ginny's Oncologist to call so I can get some of the straight POOP on her. He is a very strange doctor. From India he comes right to the point and doesn't soften anything up. Ginny is gradually getting a little better labs but she still cannot walk without help, which is going to be hard for me. But we have the hospital bed and a commode. Now I'm glad we kept all of it. I want to find out what is making it so she can't walk. Originally she was going to be able to take the boot off Friday but don't know now. She calls the nurses when she has to go #2 and tells them they better hurry and at least a couple times they didn't show fast enough, but they say they would rather she do it in the bed then have another broken bone to deal with. I had no idea low WBC would cause you to be so unsteady, I knew RBC would cause a lot of weakness but those are fine. That last chemo treatment really hit her hard. It killed almost all of her WBC's
That infection, on top of her immune system being nonexistant, on top of the RA, broken foot, & stuck in bed for a week now without a lot of solid food will do it. Her body is under a LOT of stress right now so not surprising at all. Be patient. They'll get her going, but it's going to be slow. She doesn't have a lot to fight with.
