Here is something else. I don't know how many of you are regular Costco shoppers like we are but if you don't like the idea of stopping the once a month flyer they used to put out that usually lasted about 3 weeks of all the things that are on sale. Now you can only see it online. I called them about it and told them I thought it was a stupid idea. Trying to go thru everything online and then having to look it up on your smart phone if you have one. He said they were doing it as a trial. We really hate the idea. Always looked forward to getting that little booklet sort of like the Sears and Roebuck catalog, and you could take it with you to help you when you are shopping and see the things you use that are on sale. Send them an email to Customer Service. I really miss it. That's how I found my television, Sound system, Computer. Now you get to play with your phone as you are trying to navigate thru the crowded store.

I've always had the shop where I get tires do the extra siping, never a question about warranty. They still cover the tires they sell.

And have had them replace a tire that got chunked (sidewall, lots of tread left, prorated at 95%), at basically the cost of the siping. YMMV.

Teens Who Vape Are 7 Times More Likely to Turn to Regular Cigarettes

That, and other items, have caused me to lose a lot of faith in them...

That's like teens that have sex are 100 times more likely to get pregnant.

Still trying to get used to Costco. We were with BJs for a number of years. I'm still liking our BJs more than Costco. Don't like the layout of shopping in Costco, not as convenient. They move/change inventory too much ... can't depend on getting the same thing on the 'next' trip. And in particular, we were told bird seed/food is a seasonale item only carried in the spring and summer. WTH ... am I supposed to not feed the birds in the winter!

I don't know if any of you are into this but we have been bingeing on The Great British Baking Show for 2 days. Really pretty good what these Brits can do. Well I see the show has kinda gone downhill. Mary Berry and the 2 hosts left the show when it went from BBC to Channel 4 whatever that means in the UK, but they left the show out of loyalty to the BBC. I forget what season we are up to but they have a bunch of real dandy's on it. So lets put it this way it was a really good show. We're on sea 6 and I can see why everyone left, they don't have the same standards at all. You know the UK has all these different races and everyone seems to just be treated as another Brit. Seems like no discrimination like there is here. Pretty cool if you ask me.

About a year ago @corn flakes posted this. I just came across it again and thought we could all use a laugh. Thanks for posting it the first time CF!

    A.A.A.D.D.- KNOW THE SYMPTOMS!

Thank goodness there's a name for this disorder.

    Age-Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.

    This is how it manifests:

I decide to water my garden.
As I turn on the hose in the driveway,
I look over at my car and decide it needs washing.

As I start toward the garage,
I notice mail on the porch table that
I brought up from the mail box earlier.

I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.

I lay my car keys on the table,
Put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table,
And notice that the can is full.

So, I decide to put the bills back
On the table and take out the garbage first...

    But then I think,
Since I'm going to be near the mailbox
When I take out the garbage anyway,
I may as well pay the bills first.

I take my check book off the table,
And see that there is only one check left.
My extra checks are in my desk in the study,
So I go inside the house to my desk where
I find the can of Pepsi I'd been drinking.

I'm going to look for my checks,
But first I need to push the Pepsi aside
So that I don't accidentally knock it over.

    The Pepsi is getting warm,
And I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.

As I head toward the kitchen with the Pepsi,
A vase of flowers on the counter
    Catches my eye--they need water.

I put the Pepsi on the counter and
    Discover my reading glasses that
I've been searching for all morning.
I decide I better put them back on my desk,
But first I'm going to water the flowers.

I set the glasses back down on the counter ,
Fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote.
Someone left it on the kitchen table.

I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV,
I'll be looking for the remote,
But I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table,
So I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs,
But first I'll water the flowers.

I pour some water in the flowers,
But quite a bit of it spills on the floor.

So, I set the remote back on the table,
Get some towels and wipe up the spill.

Then, I head down the hall trying to
Remember what I was planning to do.

At the end of the day:

    The car isn't washed,

    The bills aren't paid,

There is a warm can of Pepsi sitting on the counter,

The flowers don't have enough water,

There is still only 1 check in my check book,

    I can't find the remote,

    I can't find my glasses,

And I don't remember what I did with the car keys.

Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today,

I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all day,

    And I'm really tired.

I realize this is a serious problem,

And I'll try to get some help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail.

I'm with ya Mike but once you get used to it they are all pretty much the same. You can get some good deals on a lot of things but you have to like large quantities. I try to buy all my electronics there, you automatically get the 2nd year warranty, you can take things back in 90 days no questions asked, all of their stuff is high quality really no cheap junk there. There are some items in electronics you only have 30 days but very few. I've always bought my computers there. You are right tho about finding something you really like and you don't see it again for 6 months. Their Concierge service is excellent. Their meat is always top notch. It makes us so mad when we try something and absolutely love it and never see it again. Another thing is the way they box stuff up. If you don't keep an eye on them they will fill a box up with so much heavy stuff it weighs 60lbs. Ya gotta love their rotisserie chickens for $5. I guess someone wanted to up the price and the head guy said absolutely not, that was something they were known for and wanted to keep it that way. I guess they actually lose money on it. They are great.

Poor Ginny she is off the Chemo but it still lingers on. Food doesn't taste good to her, she still feels sick when she stands up to long but it did it's thing. So on Tuesday we both have an appt at Cyberknife. I have to have labs and a CT Monday before it. Dr. Kelley will decide if she thinks they can get rid of the one remaining mass on her liver. If that happens and works then have to decide if she wants to have the radiation to the brain. They only do it when you are in full remission because this Cancer likes to come back in the brain.

And over 60% of California forestland is owned and controlled by the Federal gov't.o_O

Who still have to follow the laws about how they can and cannot handle forestland management.

When I get the online notice about the sales I put anything of interest in my shopping list on my phone. I've got a couple different store lists on my phone since I don't buy everything at the same place.

Haven't bought any electronics there yet, but I love their meats! At work we always got our birthday cakes from there because they were delicious. I wish they had general signage on the aisle ends to give you an idea what's down there. Any trip to Costco is going to take longer just trying to find stuff. Coffee filters are located in with paper goods and coffee is located on one side of the store while the coffee makers and the pod coffee is located on the other side. Still, if you find the time to wander there are some good deals to be had and the Kirkland brand so far has been excellent.

At the checkout we just have them leave everything in the cart. Then when we get to the car we pack it up in the reusable shopping bags ourselves. I prefer the bags to the boxes because it's just easier for me to carry.

I've noticed when using reusable bags at the supermarket the checkers seem to want to cram as much as possible in 1 bag, especially the male checkers. If they're having trouble lifting it into the cart don't they realize the customer will have trouble getting it out? Gotta keep an eye on them young'ns because they'll sneak in the tomatoes on the bottom too!

@3mg Meniere How are you doing?
Ugh I bet not too well. Surgery on Friday then weekend warriors on the weekend. I hate hospitals
I always have them done when getting new, but I've been told that it can be done on used ones as well.

Performance Tire Siping | What is Tire Siping - Les Schwab

Been doing that for more than 20 years, many of which I was still working, and driving on black ice and compact snow, and, of course for us here in the Pacific NW, lots of rain. Definitely feel the difference from un-siped tires, even on ice. (While I do toss the chains in the car, seasonally, I've only needed them once in that time, traction was good enough without.) And typically get significantly more life than "rated."

And I've heard/read that all the State Police cars are on siped tires.
Too bad Les Schwab isn't available everywhere. They really stand behind their tires and labor. Not always the cheapest but they can't be beat for the way you are treated there.

Yep the same with us as far as the lists. I use an app called Any do and we have 5 different lists that we use. The nice part is I can use Alexa to make out the list. Makes it real easy just tell Alexa Add this to my Costco list or Add this to my Walmart list. When you get to the store it is all there and you can just check it off. It's one of the skills Alexa has. Really handy.
