The cancer spots have disappeared except for what's on the liver so that's a positive thing right? The radiation to the brain is preventative, not because she has spots there so that's positive too. You've had great results with the cyber knife so be optimistic that it will also work for Ginny. Anybody would be scared, but it's not all bad news. Hold onto the little victories so you don't miss out on any enjoyment together.
Yes you are right as usual Janet. We are just hoping the MRI on Sunday shows the brain still clear. I told them they won't find anything up there so they will be ready. Yes the radiation to the brain is preventative at this point and if MRI is still clear then it can't go there like this one likes to do. We don't want that for sure. Thanks for your positivity. Hoping Mike will enjoy his Turkey dinner and also hoping everything comes out ok tomorrow, if you know what I mean. LOL That is amazing 5 units low. I know how Ginny felt when she needed a transfusion and tho she was acting ok going there she doesn't remember any of it. Oh and it's just a scary thing when they start messing around in the brain. I would venture to say his BP must've been almost non existent. Man that is scary.

While back, had an acquaintance ask how Patty was doing. I said she just had a brain MRI and they didn't find anything. Forgot how sharp elbows can be...

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends on the Porches. I am truly thankful for each and every one of you.
My turkey is in the oven and we should be eating by 5:30 or 6:00. I just hope that my daughter is able to eat it. She is suffering from a really bad sinus problem.

I'm home. Got released from the ICU about 3:30pm today. No food restrictions ... the Doc said enjoy your turkey tomorrow. Just start taking some kiddie vitamins like Flintstones or Gummy Bears for the next month ... it will help build up your iron. Holy geez ... I lost 5 units of blood ... no wonder I felt like I was going to pass out just before they wheeled me away to patch me up. Never experienced anything like that feeling that just came over me and I don't want to feel it ever again.

So much for a routine colonoscopy. But on the good side ... the polyp they removed was the pre-cancerous type. Not like a little ballon they snip of and seal. This type I was told grows more like a fungus spreading out on a dead log. The was a lot of cutting and scraping to get it removed. But they're quite confident they got it all and I'm in good shape (once I rebuild my blood supply that is).
How is Mike today? Any word on going home yet?

Got released late on Tuesday afternoon with no diet restrictions. So enjoyed a wonder dinner and time at our daughter's house yesterday. I did take a 1 hour pre-dinner nap as I was quite run-down feeling.

Today I'm still washed out feeling but doing OK.

@2legsshrt ... caution, I could be pestering you with question about the Amazon Dot and Alexa. As a thank you for staying with us for 2 month's Kaitlin gave us a Dot 2 yesterday. I've got it all setup, even the app on both my iPhone and Janets (which lets the iPhone work like a Dot in other rooms of the house). I'm already hooked ... I've got another Dot and 4 outlet adapters due to arrive on Monday.

This thing is going to dumb me down even more than I am already. I was hanging a new wall clock today for Janet. I wanted it center on the wall between the corner of the room and the doors to the deck. The distance was 78 inches ... instead of doing the math in my head I just asked Alexa what's 1/2 of 78 inches. Sheesh!

I know what you mean Mike. We do our shopping lists, set timers to take meds. You want to really blow your mind go and see how many skill apps are available for different stuff she will do. I'd like to get a good BT speaker for the living room cause you can just tell her to play a certain song or a groups music. She'll play games like Jeopardy. I don't even have a clue at all the stuff she is capable of. I've looked thru some of the apps and she can do danged near anything you want. Except get up and make you something to eat. But I'm sure she could make some suggestions and recipes a shopping list of what you need to make it. It's crazy. If you have Audible she'll read you a book, tell you the news tailored for you, weather forecast. Current weather. Iffy knows a lot about what she is capable of doing.

Yeah but ... she won't turn on my coffee pot on in the morning. I have a small one that brews me 1 cup of caffeinated coffee in the morning. It doesn't have a timer. I tested turning it on, then unplugging it, then plugging it back in and it doesn't come back on without resetting the switch. So it won't work with the Alexa socket adapter like when you just plug a lamp into it and always leave it 'on' and let the Alexa socket adapter turn it on/off. Poop! I was looking forward to coming down in the morning and saying "Alexa brew my coffee'.

I'm glad to hear you are doing better. Naps are sorely underrated. I didn't get a chance for a nap yesterday because I cooked dinner for us. I love my daughter as fathers do. However, her cooking skills are something that is not high on her list. Let me just say that anytime she goes to someone else's house for a party or potluck she is asked to bring the ice.
One of the things I enjoy about Thanksgiving are the left-overs, of which I am eating now. I think tomorrow I might make a big pot of Turkey and Noodles.

Man I bet you are Mike. If you lost that much blood you were awfully close to what's not good. That is really scary. That is just too close. Gonna take you a while to get back to normal. Glad you got in soon enough.

I can hardly believe Dave is gone. Probably up there arguing about the use of effect and affect. I didn't even know he had any problems but I knew he had been getting changed on some of his meds.

Stupid plumber ripped me for $500 for replacing my garbage disposal today. Robbery!

Ouch! My son knew he needed to replace the shower assemble in the master bedroom and kept putting it off. He was hit with about the same for an emergency repair after hours on a weekend. I got into the wrong profession.

Alexa (and Siri from Apple, and Google Assistant) smarten you up. If you can just ask for routine things it leaves your brain free to do the things that these "assistants" can't do. NOW, get out there and think something useful and fun.

I have both Alexa (4 Dots and the App on 4 iDevices) and Siri (on 4 iDevices); no GA since I don't have any Android devices. I use them more or less interchangeably for questions and research.

Yea but ... I was having this convo with our daughter last night,

Yea I was trying to imagine Miles, Hux and Beckett growing up with Alexa and Siri … like when they are doing home work … instead of reading the chapter to learn the answers at the end … they’ll be able to just ask Alexa/Siri the answers so they’ll can breeze through their homework. As a joke/test I asked Alexa who where the Generals at the Battle of Gettysburg … whoops like that I got the correct answer.

And when they make a micro/stealth version and the kids take it to school during test time and very quietly whisper the questions to the Alexa … all A’s on the test for sure but a very dumb kid at the end of the year.
