Yes. Stairs are difficult after major surgery. Have no clue why. Do you have something you can use as a low platform to do a step up/step down exercise on? Maybe a couple of hardback books on the floor? Do a step up h then step down on the other side. Turn around & do it again, then switch feet to step up & down. I did that after my 1st surgery when I got home after a month in rehab. I couldn't walk at all after the month in the hospital. I had to start with sitting in a chair & just moving my feet & doing knee lifts. 5 of each exercise was an accomplishment. They let me go home when I could walk 700 feet with a cane & climb stairs. After got home I substituted curbs & stacks of books for stairs. It really helped.I test ed your theory with walking around the building twice and no significant problem. Going up steps is the problem.
