Wayfair, they were on sale still a little on the expensive side but I hate vinyl and this has a canvas type of outer cover on it. I'm thinking tomorrow I'll let a little air out and venture again. That is if my water shoes don't have that pungent smell of lake muck lol
Lol, I'd probably find a tiny boat motor and cruise around the lake. Maybe a sail?

It's awesome and has come down a lot in price. I have the 6.5 quart a little bit much for one but I love making & freezing soups, tomato, vegetable & chicken broth!
I cook for 2. I cook a couple of times a week. Usually. We both love leftovers, but switch it up with sandwiches, & frozen.

Morning everyone! Supposed to be near 90 here today - not to bad but when the humidity is up there it's a pia and you'll discover parts of your body that the sweat finds all on it's own, yuck!

I may have to try that dang float again today but I'm going to let a little air out first, then maybe it won't be so likely to flip. That lake muck is a mother, you sink down in and it's got to be 4+ inches deep. It's decomposing plant life, fish love it, fishers love the fish, the blue herons camp out on my dock daily and the osprey dive bomb the water for the fish, then they start eyeballing the dog, small little pupper that he is.

Heck, this IS the 21st Century, go motorized :)

This looks like fun, but you still need to skootch back into it, I'd try it in a pool! I've been looking into the mini pontoons (under 15ft), either with the pedal/paddle thing or using a trolling motor. I've been here 3 years now and I've just now gotten the guts for the floats! I'm pushing myself out of my comfort zone but it's like dancing....you never know if your spastic movements will be someone elses entertainment!

I found the slot. Now I have to find the directions

I bet there are SO MANY "People" that have heard that exact same phase for years - with no luck accomplishing anything yet - even with the directions in hand . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

    Good morning :)

They are the reason we had to build a cage for our veggie plants and…if you can believe it…my tropical hibiscus and my cereous plants. They love hibiscus flowers! They also love sunflowers…the flowers themselves. I had to quit growing them.

Evidently the squirrels have planted lots of sunflower seeds because they're coming up everywhere. I've left several growing and they're starting to bloom now. They're the smaller sunflowers that grow about 2 feet tall.

I've been down to 1 diy juice for a couple of years now. No more flavor fliting for me. I was pretty limited to bourbon custards anyway. I finally found a taste for creamy fruits, but after 1/2 a tank I'd get tired of them & want my bourbon custard again. I have a box full of flavorings just sitting.

In the beginning I was trying all kinds of flavor combinations, but we're down to 2 flavors for the past 3 years or so. I find that sometimes I can't taste my favorite flavor so I switch to the 2nd flavor for a bit. I usually make at least 600 ml of each flavor so I don't have to dig out the supplies too often. Still beats having to stop in the store all the time to buy cigarettes!

I feel like a little kid -- only 5 more sleeps until vacation!!!!!

My great-great grandfather bought a camp on the lake in 1911 (close to the NY border, north of Manchester VT and south of Rutland). Fortunately it got indoor plumbing in '32! I've gone up there nearly every summer since I was 3 months old.

Several cousins also have property around the lake and combined we have nearly every water toy you could ask for - although not the motorized float and I want that! For several years I had a 3 person inflatable raft (a gift from the DH). I'd put in my towel, food, beverage, book and row out to the float, tie up and just chill out letting the clouds go by, rocking on the waves. It was a great way to decompress. One year some intrepid young cousins put a pair of small boat motors on our float, pulled up the cinder block anchors, and took it for a spin.

That's our wrap around porch and boathouse in the background of the hammock. The house used to sit on the ground, we raised it about 20 yrs ago to put a foundation under it. The fire pit is at a cousin's place down the road, they have the best lake view. Am I there yet?

So peaceful looking. Reminds me of my lake property in Fl. Sometimes I miss it a lot.

Have friends (Geordi's breeders) coming tomorrow for a BBQ and play time for the pups. Leave Monday for Salem, Virginia (Roanoak) and a dog show. This show is where my first Belgian Tervuren, Spock, earned his championship by going Best of Breed over Specials (already finished champions) back in 2003. Geordi is a Special (finished champion) and it's a Regional Specialty (a minor big deal - just the classes of Tervs). We are showing to support the club, mostly going for work. I have no control over what the judge likes, but Geordi is knockout gorgeous (to me! and many others) and we are going to have FUN!!!. Whatever the judge likes, I know I am going home with the BEST dog!! And should have money in the bank because it is historically a good $$ show and business is up.

Plus there is an awesome restaurant over one of the mountains (The Home Place) that serves fantastic, "home made" food family style. You order your meat(s) and they bring out platters of meats, potatoes, gravy, veggies, all sorts of goodies and keep filling the plates until everyone at the table screams "enough!". Then comes the cobbler..... We have a group we go with every year and always have a grand time!
Wonderful!! Hopefully you had someone taking pics you'll share with us? :)

    Lake Champlain?

No, we're south of Champlain too.
The Lake St. Catherine is 5mi long and a mile wide at the widest point.

It is peace to me and what I look forward to every year. You can swim, boat, fish, hike, bike, travel around to interesting places, or just do nothing. It just depends upon what you feel like doing in the morning when you wake up. (T-minus 4 years and counting to retirement)
