I hate to say it but my heart is breaking. I have a little pup that is a 6-year old mix-breed Shih Tzu/Poodle female. Over the weekend I noticed she was having a problem with her sight. I got her to the vet yesterday and he ran a blood test. He ruled out Lime Disease and a couple others that I didn't understand. She didn't have a fever her temp was 102.8°. He gave me a 10 day supply of Prednisone to try to treat a possible infection. Her eyes are bloodshot suggesting an infection. He found no obvious reason for the loss of sight and suggested it might be a form of Macular Degeneration. I am keeping her comfortable. I have the yard sectioned off and now trying to figure out a way to mark the fence so she won't run into it and cause further harm.
Oh, Jerry. For whatever good it might do, my heart is breaking right along with you.

The question is how hard is it to switch to SS. I'm using two eleaf istick TC40W as my everyday mod and Kay fun Lite+ V3 toppers. Also have a SXMINI but no way of updating the software. I have a mac and my understanding is that YiHi is PC only.

Not hard at all or I wouldn't have done it. Add a couple of wraps to reach same ohms. The flavor is better imo.

In the last couple weeks, I have changed over to SS. I use Steam Engine to figure out the coils just like I did with Kanthal. I agree with Kenna, the shift to SS is easy or I wouldn't have switched either. I was a bit intimidated with making spaced coils but after making my first one it is a piece of cake. Give it a try, what do you have to lose.

is that the TCR setting that you're using?
Yep thats what I use on the SX's the JT's seem a little high at that just like with their power so I run it a little lower. But the .00088 works great with the boards on the ML and the Q for SS316L.

Are you speaking of me. I have no problems. Well maybe a couple. I seem to see the world in a different light then others and don't think anything of saying here what I would say to others. Maybe its me that needs to leave this thread. I could make life better for y'alll.
Not a chance. Your stuck. If they can't deal with it too bad:pervy:. Your an original and we love you. ;):)

I came across a post whilest looking through.
This may explain my perspective and why I think people will find their way to whatever thread they choose.

ATTITUDE
by: Charles Swindoll
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.

And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes.

Also, to help me grasp what you're saying about the TCR setting, does reducing TCR (while leaving all other settings the same) give you a cooler vape, or a hotter vape?
Yeah reducing TCR gives you a cooler vape. You can play with it some. Also I don't know if you know it or not but when you set your resistance and the coil is a little warm for whatever reason and you know the resistance of the coil you can adjust it by using the up or down buttons as soon as you get the resistance from the reading it gives you. This could be dangerous to some because you could set your resistance wrong if you actually have a bad coil but if you know the coil is fine and possibly have fired it and not let it cool enough you can adjust it.

@MattB101 not hard at all, even in pure power mode, I run cooler (less watts) than I would with kanthal and nichrome. Why? Because 316L stainless steel has an issue staying stable. Add to the issue, it's also easier to melt when pushing tons of watts to it. So, if you want to go to 316L it's easy, just don't expect to throw 100+ watts at it, and you'll be alright. As for the Macintosh issue trying running a virtual machine plugging your device and keep that virtual machine running Windows into the laptop or whatever it is you have and keep that virtual machine running windows and you should be alright

Thanks you guys. To be honest I'm not sure where I would go, I'm kinda used to coming here everyday. I'd probably have withdrawals, but will look around a little to see if theres any place that I'd fit in.

When the infection is cleared up her sight may return. Best thing to do is keep her hair out of her eyes. We had a pup lose her sight gradually lose her sight. We would go outside with her. She leatned how to navigate indoors & out on her own. She wouldn't run, or move quickly anymore but she knew where things were outside & kept to areas she was familiar with on her own.

I vape around 8.5 watts on a 1.2 ohm Kanthal coil. So that's not a problem. :)

That's another thing I didn't know, thanks! I agree that it could be dangerous.

A silly thing about YiHi is they've got so many mods called SX Mini, regardless of whether they have 1 or 2 batteries. There are even 2 different SXMini Q Class mods, one with the SX450J chip and one with the SX450J-BT (Bluetooth) chip. When I go into the mod-making business, they're going to be named #1, #2, and so on.

While I was sulking a few days ago about not being able to connect to the YiHi software, I realized that my disillusionment with the one no-longer-functioning DNA-chip mod I'd ever used was not due to the DNA chip, but to the fairly poor construction of the mod it was in. So I decided I'm going to give DNA another chance. After watching a bunch of reviews to make sure I was getting reputable build quality in the mod itself, I ordered one mod with a DNA-75 and another with a DNA-167. One or both might arrive tomorrow. Shopping! Wheee!

@MattB101 No problem dude. Just make sure (if you don't have one) to get a mod that locks resistance. It will help maintain proper energy throughput. Every one of us has our own "nominal settings". Like my "nominal (peak performance) comes from 3.7 - 4.0V. Doing the calculation though, some wires won't allow me to run those settings (316L and Nichrome-80). But they will allow me to get close to it - or close enough - and still provide a fantastic vape. Either way, 316L is a good wire to build with, it's very soft, very malleable, and very easy to work with. Doesn't matter the gauge either. 24, 26, and 28 gauge wires work well for me. Even on my old Semovar, 28G 316 @ 12 wraps fits just fine in my KFL+ and fires nicely at 3.7V (1.4 - 1.7 Ohms).
