On the way for you both!
Guess both of us would do good with some Porch Prayer.
ok.........question for the gardeners. We have two jalapeno plants. They had both been planted in a can together. Then I found out they needed more space. One had one jalapeno on it, and it was much smaller. I expect it was using most of its energy to feed the pepper. They both have had blooms, but that is the only one to make a chili.
They are both in the ground now, but the one with the jalapeno on it isn't doing as well as the other. It's a small chili, should we pick it off so the plant isn't trying to nurture it? For the blooms that didn't make a chili, and just kinda wilted, should we pick those off, or will they just wilt up and fall off? Thanks for your advice!
I think people today, especially young ones, don't realize what a real wood piece of furniture is, or what it is worth. They are so used to cheap particle board crap, they have no clue. They grew up with Ikea (not that Ikea doesn't have its place).I just don't get it. We are trying to sell some of our furniture. Every time we get a call they are making a lower offer and they haven't even seen it yet. All the stuff we are selling is real wood - solid furniture - before they used particle board and plastic. I have had many ask if it is real wood or not, but the price they want to offer is for cardboard / particle board furniture... I just don't get it.
My prices are way below what they are worth, but I am not giving it away. I have already sold two pieces - I had to convince the people to see the furniture first - then we could talk price. In both cases they paid my full asking price and knew the were getting a bargain. Like I said - I just don't get it...They want the real furniture, but...
For ALLour porchers dat have or may encounter dat dreaded dashboard 'Check Engine' warning beacon, a lil' personal experience.
After I gifted myself a Samsung smart phone (android G7) fer my Christmas/birthday, decided to track down my dashboard dire dilemma, da cursed CEwb.
First ordered an OBDII and just plugged it in my under-dash port. Den downloaded da free version of Torque Lite to my G7; easy Bluetooth pairing. Thus far I've resolved two issues; replaced a gas cap (weak relief spring) and just today a coolant temperature sensor. Da latter was really kickin' my Tahoe's 'tailpipe, not countin' my fuel con$umption! and just plugged it in my under-dash port
Fer 'bout $50 total (sans phone) and maybe 10 minutes, I'm now cruisin' beacon (note: not bacon) free! Besides, I've also set up my G7/TL to monitor what I consider my engine's critical computer computations. Can't imagine what a dealer$hip would charge...![]()
Aha couldn't figure out how a post from here ended up there. Thought I was going crazier.I accidentally posted replies on the FP! It's been one of those days! I went to the FP this morning to see what was going on with the BP, so left the tab open!
We were out today and when we came back from the feed store, I'd forgotten that the FP tab was open, and so I proceeded to post.........DUH.........Like I said, it's been one of those days!![]()
My son and DIL have G7s and he can control almost everything in his house (remotely too!) with his phone.
Thank you for sharing this, Yiddle. I'm going to send the link to my nephew (Iraq Vet) & his wife ( also Iraq Vet). He's studying Psych at UT & she is a Psych RN. Both are totally committed to caring for the mental health of our Military. These programs ate a huge part of thatn mentally & physically.
They are lowballing you so they can resell? People now have no clue what good furniture is. My bed was purchased by my grandparents when they married. Their first 2 children out of 6 were born in it & both grandparents passed in it. It will always stay in the family.I just don't get it. We are trying to sell some of our furniture. I'm still using my GNote2. The new Note 8 is supposed to be released in a couple of months. But unless I come across a really good deal on one I'll be watching for an older model. I don't want one without a replaceable battery tho.I think people today, especially young ones, don't realize what a real wood piece of furniture is, or what it is worth. Yep!**sigh** That stuff is SO insecure.

yummmm wish we had a freezer full of blueberries. There's apparently a variety that are supposed to grow quite well in a container in the Tx heat.Well it is blueberry picking time again. Just in time too. Only had a pint and a half left from last year... I would have a hard time without blueberries in my pancakes...![]()
I do now, those might be peppers in the making.See those little round things where the flowers were?
Thanks hunSometimes it's phito blight that causes those black ring joints, sometimes just stress. If stress from initially under potting (root bound) , weather too cool and wet or recent transplanting they'll recover. Either way I've had those black rings on plants that produced pounds of chilis so no bigs imo. Pick the pepper from the one plant and sprinkle 1 Tbls of epsom salt under each plant covering an area the size of the foliage. As the plants are recently transplanted I would fertilize with a mild 4-4-4 product or very watered down miracle grow. The idea is to get them to root as deep as possible, so more infrequent watering (once a week) and fertilize (once every 3 weeks) will encourage them to dig deep for water and nutrients. The payoff is stronger, healthier, disease tolerant plants that will withstand heavy fruit loads, winds and especially heat. The deeper the roots go the cooler the soil so when when the temps run into the high 90's in the summer the plant's roots will stay cooler and set loads of peppers. Healthy Jalapeño plants can easily produce 3 lbs. of peppers if they're happy. Good luck.
Jup it's awful. I've got one piece that I paid 25.00 for at the post 2nd hand store. It was military made for officer's quarters in Germany. Not fancy, but solid wood and so sturdy and strong. It's just a low table with a wide drawer under it. I used to have my TV on it. Wish I could find a lot more pieces like it.I just don't get it. We are trying to sell some of our furniture. Every time we get a call they are making a lower offer and they haven't even seen it yet. All the stuff we are selling is real wood - solid furniture - before they used particle board and plastic. yay!!Nap tested, nap approved!

Hey you.......yur not allowed to fuss at me cuz you didn't answer my question! .....Pick the blooms and the pepper. As long as the blooms are there, the plant will spend energy trying to feed 'em.
And next time, treat those pepper plants properly! It's a sin to mistreat jalapeno peppers! (My Habanero plant bit the big one last week when we had a few days of decent storms go through. Tossed the container and plant clean off the deck and across the yard. **sigh** )
thanks hun.......I brought this post back over hereNo real advice from this gardener cause I've never grown these. I wouldn't want to tell you to follow what I'd do for a flower or bush or tree, but I see that you are getting the help you need. Oh, I do use Epsom salts when I know there is a plant that likes to be on the dry side, but am very cautious because too much magnesium is as bad as not enough.....
It will always stay in the family.
Hey you.......yur not allowed to fuss at me cuz you didn't answer my question! ..........
Is there a way to get someone to stop following you on here? That guy who's posts y'all deleted is following at least me and Mike. But Jup yur right, it's a sin. they were given to my son, and I've been tryin to take a crash course on pepper raisin! At least they're still alive which is a miracle in and of itself.
