Iffy, Patty's episode must have been very scary for both of you, but I'm so glad she's improving now.

The past few years we haven't decorated much here since it's just Mike and I except for Christmas day. And even then, we're usually out and about so we're not even home! It was nice because as much as I love Christmas, by New Years day all decorations MUST go!! They just seem so out of place by then! It only took us an afternoon to get it all packed up. This year everyone is coming home so we're decorating everything and making tons of cookies. It's going to be great, but - anyone want to come help put it all away? I always wonder how people who put out a bazillion decorations manage to put it all away afterward. Does that make me a Grinch?

This will be our first Christmas, since our marriage (47.5+ years), without a tree! It will also be the first Christmas morn gift exchange outside of our abode...

Fer moi, not so much a sad change, just a lil' nostalgic wid a large dose of reality! We know our limits (mostly). Just pray our kids can remember more than Patty and I can nowadays.

BTW, she had a major disorientation episode the other day and is just now regaining some strength. What an awesome trooper/angel she be! I'm SO Blessed...

Maybe a little early, but may each of you find the Peace you seek during this most Holy Season!

OK, ophph to phinish my two Noel projects...

Sorry to hear the bride had another episode. Prayers for you and her continue.

Sweet Iffy... I have to tell you that your bride is also blessed in having such a caring loving husband.

Sorry that Patty had that episode and that she continues to gain her strength back.

I'm sure the kids will remember! I know ours always bring up lil tidbits that Peter and I have long forgotten.

I deleted 99% of all my GF sale e mails. There was one I was waiting for, and got that with a 30% off, so it was worth it.
There is nothing out there now that I need......maybe 'want out of curiosity '.....but don't need a thing. Very grateful for that!

We've cut back quite a bit ourselves, and honestly, if it weren't for the grandbabies, we would do even less.....as it is, Christmas is still at Mama's house cause I choose to have it that way, but each year, I say, 'this is the last'. Gifts are now limited to the grandbabies....we have family come in for a week, so that is our gift to each other!

I never stopped saying MERRY CHRISTMAS, pc or not.....it was Gracie correct, that was enough for me.

So MERRY CHRISTMAS
Merry Christmas, Gracie! I never stopped saying it either. We stopped most decorating several years ago. I always got live trees, but we don't even put up Mom's artificial tree anymore.

Uhmmm and what are these projects of yours?

Setting up two Amazon Fire TV Sticks; one fer two of my G-'babies' (kids suitable w/educational access and R rating restricted) and da other fer a son-in-law (sports nut). It's taking a bit o' time to get 'em set up just da way I want.

Also been 'playing'/learning wid my new Amazon HD 8 Fire tablet; neat lil' device! Eventually hope to learn 'nuff stuff 'bout all da above and get Patty set up wid a 'touch & play' TV combo.

Dis network/syncing/streaming/pairing/etc. stuff is sooo 20th century, but all sooo new to moi. I 'member at da Odyssey, Matt lost me at da first turn when discussing his 'digital toys'.

Now what do I do with all these decorations I have???

Same here! We only used handmade decorated eggs, created by my Mom and Patty, and lights on our tree. Gonna have our girls take turns picking which ones dey want. Have well over a hundred...

Eh, that wasn't intended to be against anyone here. I heard the happy holidays everywhere I went this past weekend, and had just finished watching a live tv broadcast where every comercial was saying it.
All that P.C. stuff usually starts getting to me.
I celibate the mass of Christ's birth every year, and darned if I'ma gonna say happy holidays.
Then again, I have no problems with someone wishing me a happy Quanza, Hanukkah, Chanukah, Ramadan, or whatever.

Don't know if this is luv enough, Johnny, but it's a short section of the data screen video with high resolution. Plus, it's got bird sounds. The data screen has a lot lower native resolution than the video taken by the aircraft. :)

I earlier mentioned that my second computer monitor had gone out on me. Well, yesterday I bought a replacement. I did online searches and found out that a plain computer monitor is not a cheap endeavor. I wound up getting a second small television and set up my first television as a second monitor for the laptop. When I got home and hooked everything up, I discovered that the new TV did not have an outlet for using an external speaker. My desk is set up in the living room. As such when my daughter watches the big TV in the living room I use headphones so she is not disturbed by my TV. I also have an external speaker on the TV that allows me to better hear the TV. I have a high-frequency hearing loss. I have not been able to hear using just the speakers on a TV unless the sound was on really high, for a very long time. The ability to have an external speaker and to use headphones when needed is a big requirement. Today I returned the TV and replaced it with a better model (same manufacturer). I can't say enough good things about BestBuys customer service. I wound up spending $20.00 more for a Smart TV with all of my requirements.

Absolutely... dat's just sooo too phlippin' kewl. Thanx, Dave! <excuse my envy...>

I have a high-frequency hearing loss

OK, ya touched upon a fav rant o' mine. I use to have a true 20Hz to 20+kHz hearing range (self-tested wid calibrated mil test equipment available to moi within my career field(s)). Every time I ever had a formal hearing test (mil or civ) only da voice freq range was evaluated.

Having ever increasing tinnitus now, I oft wonder if had my upper range been evaluated, would there had been an alert. And yes, I know age is a major factor, but...

Nonetheless, guess my ears have had more to do wid my well being and state in life dan my mouth!

I've noticed that I have to balance sound on my devices & tv to lower bass. I hear too much of that. I'm so glad my tv's have different settings for sound.

Can you hear the music while you're flying so you can match up the end of the music with the end of the video or do you fit that in afterward?

We've always had very good customer service at Best buy as well. Glad you were able to get that resolved.

Talking about hearing, I just found out I've got hearing loss and hearing aids were recommended, 1 and possibly 2, but I'll have to try them out and see what I think. Always knew HAs were expensive, but $2k each!! OMG! Glad I only have 2 ears! Maybe I'll get one of those old fashioned horns and walk around saying, "eh?" all the time (or at least more than I do now). The technology is pretty cool these days though. The audiologist can adjust them via computer!

You know we got a new soundbar and I wanted to stay with the same brand as the TV Vizio and the one I got was the highest rated and I can't believe the difference. First time I have been able to sit and watch tv the same level as Gin, it is excellent plus with the surround and the bass that it all has it is amazing. If your interested in looking at them it is a Vizio SB4551-D5 excellent sound.
