.. I've always believed if you're going to Party, New Years Eve is at least the one night of the year when kicking your heels up is the time to do it ..

Matt beat me to it, 'amateur night'! Now I'm a pro and don't go...

I think we have lived through the Chinese curse with 2016: "May you live in interesting times."

Ok, back to my corner.

Russ, hopefully you know you have many a 'family member' here rooting for you in your corner!

Do hope dat '16 has been an awesome year fer y'all; and dat '17 is even better! Catch ya next year. vape on...

Actually hope the can't start em. I call New Year's Eve "Amateurs Night." People who don't drink all year get pie eyed and then drive. Picture em bouncing from curb to curb and running red lights. That's pretty much what happens down here.

First, I'm glad that screaming spot test was a temporary spike, though I don't credit the Metformin much. It is helpful, but not really that much in my experience.

Yeah, amateur night. They haven't learned how to drive drunk. Another thing; they are usually protected by the sober drivers paying attention. No so after midnight on new year's day.

So true! We call it "amateur night" too. We experienced drinkers just stay home.

Very busy day today. Turned of the main breaker outside and proceeded to change out the breaker panel. The old one was Federal Pacific and doesn't meet code any longer. Replaced it with a new GE panel. Getting the old one out isn't too hard. Getting the new one in sux. It's 2 inches taller than the old one so nothing just slipped into place. Turned off the power at around 10:30am and turned it back on around 3pm. Doing it myself saved us around $1500.

Our hot water heater change out has been a minor nightmare. Had to rip out a wall to get it out. Then to find the right size water heater! Found it at Home Depo. Now working on re-tiling the floor and painting the replaced wall and whole entry way/laundry room. I don't even want to think of what it would have cost for a contractor/plumber/electrician to have done the job! Have to wait to finish the back entry that got the wettest until the subfloor dries completely. But the tiled kitchen area looks great!

Not a good night to end up in a ditch on a back road, which most are around here. Should be real nice around 2am when the bars close or in this area bar closes. Got a big pot of Split Pea with Ham soup in the slow cooker since 11am should be good.
Now, that sounds like a delightful meal on a cold and stormy night Enjoy!!

American Legion is having a Packers party tomorrow. No mention of New Year's. I guess their way of celebrating Wisconsin without acting like Wisconsinites. I went over and borrowed their WIFI for my tablet late this morning.
