That is the best news yet!!

 Thank you!! Yep, we're pretty hopeful that continued treatment will show more positive results, and they approved her to continue the treatments... so, onwards and upwards, right? :)

I found that the cost of 16 oz is not but a bit more than 2 of the 4 oz bottles. I know that the juice will be used so I am not too concerned.
kewl! I noticed the same when buying SS wire at Temco. 250 feet was less than a dollar more than 100 feet on one gauge, and the other gauge it was like 30 sumpthin cents more for 250 feet than for 100. So jup, I bought 500 feet total with the 2 gauges.

So... that's the drama in my world. And, believe it or not, that is the SHORT version. We're definitely happy to see 2016 in the rear-view and are hoping that 2017 brings much better things for everyone!
((((((((((Kaezz and DB))))))))))) so glad the tumors haven't grown and so very hopeful that continued treatment will begin to shrink them! Really hope you get the supervisor position and that you hear soon!

Yes, she looked out the door and then up at me as if to say, "Nope, today I will poop in the house."
lmao. Jup.......we haven't had snow, and on those occasions that we do get some, it rarely sticks. But I get the same look when it's raining. His look says he'll hold it til next week if necessary though. He's only gone in the house one time that I know of other than a time that he was sick.

Active Shooter at Ft Lauderdale/Hoolywood Airport.1 suspect in custody, 5 dead, 8 injured. Cops thought it was over but niw they have another shooter between terminals 2 & 3. Prayers for all.
That's horrible!! What is wrong with people these days

Cold front coming through here tonight with rain and thunder. Poor Tasha is a basket case with thunder ever since a storm several years ago where the lightning hit very near by and the instant thunder made the house shake. I give her some herbs and her thunder wrap and we cuddle when she will let me. Or she hides in the master bedroom. Gonna be a long night and cold (for us) over the weekend.

Alrighty, as promised I thought that I'd drop by with a bit of an update on how things have been since I've gone MIA from around here. ;)

Huge project at work. We had to pull one of our large pressure vessels out for maintenance/overhaul/inspection. That thing is about 45 feet long, 3 feet in diameter, and weights about 49,000 lbs. Needless to say, it is a PITA to work on. While we were in the process of doing all of that, we were also ripping out all of our control hardware for upgrade/replacement and having software designers write new code for the new controllers. Once everything was put back together again, we had to dial in the new software to get the control back to doing what we wanted it to do. All in all, it's been about two months worth of solid work, and we're still not quite done with it all.

On top of all of that, we've had massive lay-offs here and my supervisor will be leaving in about another week. Supposedly, I'll be taking over his position, but there are rumors of them bringing someone else in to run the department. I'm trying very hard to hold my tongue until official word comes out. ;) Holding my tongue has never really been my strong suite.

On the health and well-being front, my Darling Bride has had more than her fair share of struggles. The clinical trial drugs are taking their toll and have seriously diminished her energy levels, but it turns out that at least they appear to be having an equal effect on the tumors! The last CT/MRI show no new growth! :D Still not shrinking them, but at least it's not getting any worse. That is great news, because every scan for the last year and a half have all showed continuous growth of the tumors.
To top it all off, she fell a few weeks ago and broke her left wrist in two places. Also, her blood sugars have been a bit rocky. She is a Type 1 Diabetic and is on the insulin pump. Thanksgiving day, she had an insulin reaction and was unaware of it. I did a test with her glucose meter and found that it read a blood sugar of 28. I managed to get some sugar in her and got her stable and all was well. Two days later, she had another reaction, fell down and started having seizures. (This isn't the fall that broke her wrist.) I managed to call 911 while holding her to prevent her from hurting herself with the convulsions, and when the ambulance showed up they were able to help me test her blood sugar... again, it was 34 and we got some sugar in her. She refused to go to the ER, but we got her stable and that was that. She is still struggling with blood sugars, but we're getting it under control by making adjustments to the insulin rates of the pump and things are getting much better lately. She fell again a couple of weeks ago; right after I had left the house to go to work. She called me right after I'd gotten to work and said that she had fallen and thought she had broken her arm. I left work and took her to the ER and yeah... two fractures in the left wrist. I'd say the poor thing just can't seem to catch a break, but looks like she caught two! :p

So... that's the drama in my world. And, believe it or not, that is the SHORT version. We're definitely happy to see 2016 in the rear-view and are hoping that 2017 brings much better things for everyone!

Here's certainly wishing, and hoping and praying a much better 2017 for you and the Mrs.

We're getting our first, and possibly only, taste of Winter here. Forecast to dip down to 32° briefly around daybreak tomorrow. And then Sunday morning to get as low as 30°, staying below freezing for 5-6 hours.
I'll be giving the air conditioner a break, probably sleeping with the bedroom window open, especially since we're also in for intermittent showers tonight.

I had the pleasure of attending the CES once. I think it was 1982 or 1983. It was the first time I'd laid eyes on a CD player. Most of the units there played the disks in a vertical orientation. And because they were designed for display, they had transparent CD lids so you could see the disk spinning.

Needless to say, there was a whole lot more there to see, especially the computer hardware which is now archaic. CES is such a great show!

About that gorilla glass ... my phone doesn't have any kind of glass. I'd guess it's made of white polycarbonate. It cost about $7 and plugs into my Ooma VOIP device.

On this Winter night, how about a couple tropical weather videos. The first two are mine, yeah, the quality sucks, but you'll be kind because I'm a nice guy.

This one isn't mine. It is from a buddy of mine. But, I do appear in it.

So, that's why I've been expanding the size of my lap ... to provide a stable platform for that. I didn't even realize I saw the future coming, I just thought it was old age spread.

My current laptop is 17". Can't do anything smaller. Too bloody blind to see the screen properly.

I just don't get laptops. Yeah I have a 15" for travel. Outside of that... not gunna happen. Have 2 27" monitors and a 25" tv that can be either a 3rd monitor, a tv, (cable or air) and server monitor.
