Fried liver w/onions popped out of this post and it brought back one of the nicest memories! Amy (Mrs.C) made the most incredible liver & onions dish at the Odyssey........Everyone who ate it loved it!!!

Hear, hear! Never, ever and probably never will have such a savory L&O as Amy blessed us with! Must also give special cudos to Sandra fer her 'to die fer' too few Macaroons!!

Not to diminish Matt's, Semi's bride's and da other kind cooks' ephphords, but Amy and Sandra kicked sum major taste buds ....!!!

Da only aspect to rise 'bove da menu was da beyond expectations/experiences of da gatherin' of da most lovin' and kind folk in my many memories!!!

I absolutely detest liver, but liverwurst n raw unyun sammichez rock!!!
Gary, I was of da same opinion... 'til Amy's fixings!

Seriously porch folk, as long as I don't need a passport, I'll traverse da US of A to attend 'nother Odyssey, if at all possible!!!

Last week I went as far away from chicken as I could think of. Corned beef, cabbage, carrots, & potatoes! Now I won't want that again for years!

Oh my, one of my favorite meals! And I make a mean corned beef hash from leftovers.

Nope! Leftover corned beef! Ruebens, baby!

Oh yea! :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:
There's a restaurant in Hampton, VA called Goody's (would fit the Diners, Drive Ins and Dives definition of dive) that makes the best Reubins on Marble Rye I have ever had. Paired with probably the coldest beer in town it was my go to place for lunch.

Hum, next Hampton Beach dog show I must check it out! Loves me a good Reuben!

I sometimes roll up low fat turkey and swiss (instead of using bread). Lately, I just cut them up in little squares to nibble on.

Great minds think alike.

When i go shopping in a couple of days I'm getting some ham and Swiss cheese and tasty crackers as I love to munch.

speaking of triple-D's...

i actually like the show, but my daughter has had the (mis)fortune to serve Guy Fieri several times. She says of all the people she has waited on in Sacramento (Schwarzenegger, numerous NBA stars, etc) Guy was consistently the worst ....... One time, he yelled "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM???" She replied "Yes I do, now wait your turn". She told me that story a few nights ago when she showed up in panic thinking i was dead.

my phone died (so she showed up in a panic) and i'd already cancelled the contracts on my backup phones (Freedompop's "free" phonecontracts end up not being free). for anyone who had my phone #s only the 408 one is still good.

oh yeh-- my daughter is taller than Schwarzenegger:toast:

we all have our action heroes. . .

He He He, we are having a small get together this Saturday and my wife is doing most of the cooking. She got a couple of phone calls about what she was cooking so that they could bring something to enhance the meal.

One guy called and asked if she was going to cook her famous ribs - she told them she did not have any ribs right now and planned on baking some chickens - "About 2 hours later he shows up at the house with two slabs of ribs"... I guess he really does like her ribs...

Off topic, if there is one here, but I promised to give some links to low carb foods and recipes. Was waiting to find out if those wanting low carb were diabetic as well, since it can make a big difference in some of the foods you are allowed to eat. But I just might forget to post the links, so while I am remembering:
Diet Doctor: Low Carb for Beginners
AllRecipes: Low-Carb Recipes
I Breathe I'm Hungry: Week One Keto/Low Carb 7 Day Meal Plan & Progress | I Breathe I'm Hungry
Pintrest and FB also have many, not sure I can link them.

We use a lot of eggs, cheeses, salami, ham, turkey, chicken, pepperoni, sausage, BACON, cream cheese, mushrooms, salsa, spices, butter, heavy whipping cream, sour cream, home made soups. Bacon makes everything better, for those who can have it.
Almond flour can be used to make replacements for pizza crust, breads, buns, rolls, coating for frying, cookies, cakes, etc.
Lettuce wraps can be used instead of hamburger and hot dog buns or bread for subs. (Most all restaurants serve those things on lettuce now, too, if you ask).
I am sure I will think of many more as soon as I post this, but at least I didn't forget altogether!

Nanny, I've been low carb for many years, and those sites you mention are regulars for me. I'm not diabetic, thankfully, so I can indulge in a large variety of low carb food.........I'm also a member of Mark's Daily Apple and that may be another good site to visit....lots of good info on Paleo! .......Forums - Mark's Daily Apple Forum
