I mean I really do understand the reasoning because there are a lot of younger people that get them and they are on disability and they sell theirs but there should be some common sense also. I'm probably getting riled up about nothing, have never had a problem but who knows. They are looking for the doctor shoppers, sellers, people who take stuff that is not prescribed and people who run out too early or need early refills cause they were lost or stolen which isn't me and the doc knows that.

Pat my surgeon sent me to a pain specialist. I like you was really miffed! However give it a chance. I was totally honest with my guy, told him that I was concerned that he would try to eliminate my pain meds. Which I will need for life. He said no his goal was to give me the meds I needed to be pain free 24/7. And he has. Yes I do have to have urine drug testing, to make sure I'm not taking any other pain killers. I'm not, so no big deal. I now only need to see him every 2 months, he gives me pre-dated rx, so I save a trip. Give it a real chance, it may work out better than expected. Hugs.

Learning to use fixed shutter speed and aperture. Not there yet but headed that way, maybe. Using automatic settings sure was simpler.

Another good vid Dave, perfectly complemented by Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor". I have that on a Bachbusters CD (by Don Dorsey)... it's great for testing new stereo systems - pushes the amp+speakers hard on the lows, mids, and highs. If your stereo has any weaknesses, Toccata will find them!

I sympathize with your pain. I used to have servere migraine went to about 5 different doctors no help. Then a friend told me about a herbalist. She cured it almost overnight with and you won't believe it; canabis tea. Currently its undergoing medical trials in my country Au as a pain releif medication for people with accute pain like from Cancer.

In an effort to digitize a couple dozen Hi8 camcorder tapes, yesterday I ordered a couple adapters and cables from Amazon. They'll be here in the next few days. I spent about $10. Then, I found the equivalent parts I'd ordered in a junk box. Arggg.

I think I have six window screen tools.... never can find them unless I buy a new one.

Basically that I'm falling apart!:) Still testing but I have poor circulation in my left leg that is going to require more testing. Getting an Arterial Doppler Test in a few weeks. Cardiolite Stress Test next Wednesday. Also the ultrasound of the arteries in my neck has discover some plaque. Haven't actually sat down with the doc yet and probably won't until the end of the month. Other than all that capola I'm actually feeling pretty good.:);)

At least your mind is still in top form!!!

It was really cold the other night, 55° but went up today to an expected high of 75°. Another sunny and beautiful day in South Florida.
It was nearly as nasty up here in the Panhandle, but we only got to the low 70s. Oh, how I'm dreading summer.

The last time I was in Oregon I got a light sunburn that I wouldn't have suffered here in Florida, because the heat would've driven me indoors before I was overexposed. It was August, back home the temperatures were in the mid 90s. Meanwhile, on the coast of Oregon it was in the mid 60s. I was in heaven! Hope I get to return some day.

Below is Toketee Falls, Oregon. It's nearly 100 miles inland, east of Coos Bay. But it's still cool, in both senses of the word. West Oregon is a place where it's difficult to take a bad picture. And a day hot enough to make you sweat is as rare as a hard freeze where I live now.
toketee.jpg

If it weren't for A/C, the population of Florida would rapidly shrink, probably to 25% of what it is now.

I hope someone enjoys the photos.
Here's a video ... though I doubt anyone will watch the full thang.

Maybe I should try that on my car stereo. I've had some great stereos in the past, but now my best equipment is mobile.

Sadly, as the car's value decreases,
the system is now worth more than the car itself.

Also saw Moana which was really good
that one looks good. Gonna watch Finding Dory later, it's finally on Netflix.

I don't understand, this is supposed to be the Apple capital of the world and a lot of this years apples are terrible. IDK if they are shipping them out to get more money which I can't believe
I wouldn't be surprised, stores in Galveston never had decent seafood, and what they did have was high priced. it was brought in from other places and what was caught in the Gulf was mostly shipped to other places. Once in awhile if you had an "in" with a shrimp boat, you could get some good shrimp.

I have been having a problem with the rear window on my Jeep. The strut supports have slowly been losing the ability to hold up the window which means that I keep hitting my head on it while unloading or loading groceries or whatever. I stopped at Autozone today to order a set. Talk about sticker shock! They had two in stock and they were $36 each. They still have two support struts in stock. When I got home I did a bit of research on Amazon since I have Amazon Prime. I found a set that are supposed to be an exact match for my Jeep and only had to pay $21. They are available via Amazon Prime so there is no shipping and I will get them in two days. Talk about a markup at a B&M and they are supposed to be better than OEM. I will find out in a couple days.
Glad you were able to get it fixed. I had that issue with the trunk on my Taurus after awhile.

Back to the cardiologist Wednesday (I think) for more tests. He doesn't like the circulation in my left ankle or the sound of the arteries on the left side of my neck so I have tests to look at that. I'm hoping he'll have time to go over the results of the Haltor test but, I don't expect it.
Dang darlin.....it's a wonder you were able to do all you were doing. Hope they can find out exactly what's goin on and get you fixed.

Dang it Ken! I want one of those so bad. How does this one compare with the Tiko you got earlier?
welcome hermit!!

When I was on a low carb diet one of my snacks was a slice of ham rolled up in a slice of cheese. It was filling as well as delicious as lunch or a snack.
Jup, love that but I would use cream cheese for the cheese and wrap it around a baby gherkin. Still one of my favs but haven't had that in a long time. Need to get some sweet gherkins.

Corned beef, cabbage, carrots, & potatoes!
yummmmm love love love CB/cabbage. Haven't had that in a long time either.

Speaking of Ritz crackers, you want to try something weird? Peanut butter & mackerel (water packed) on Ritz. Sounds awful, doesn't it?
Jup it does hehehe But, my fav ritz cracker snack is putting pnut butter, ketchup and horseradish on ritz crackers. That also sounds horrible, but of all the folks I've gotten to try it, only one didn't like it.

We use a lot of eggs, cheeses, salami, ham, turkey, chicken, pepperoni, sausage, BACON, cream cheese, mushrooms, salsa, spices, butter, heavy whipping cream, sour cream, home made soups. Bacon makes everything better, for those who can have it.
Almond flour can be used to make replacements for pizza crust, breads, buns, rolls, coating for frying, cookies, cakes, etc.
that sounds like our fridge! thanks for the links. My dil has spurts where she goes low carb/healthy. She follows something called trim healthy mama that apparently has a lot of recipes/advice. I think the only one of those things we don't have most of the time is salami. she's got a ton of almond and coconut flour etc. Then there are times like last night when she just had to have pizza! lol

I'll eat her lumpia any and every day of da week!!!

Not too sure I like my new avatar... it looked really neat when I spotted my shadow on the back deck at mid-day earlier this week, standing with my back to the sun. I took several pictures before noticing the screws and grain pattern on that one board... moved around just a bit to get the 'eyes', 'nose' and 'mouth' just right - and ended up with a 'heart' too!

Kinda spooky tho....

here's the whole pic, unedited:
I was gonna ask about yur avatar. The full pic is really neat, but yeah the avi is a bit creepy. Liked the other one much better.

I was thinking it was like Bubble and Squeek
I saw Jamie Oliver fix that a long time ago and have wanted to try it ever since, just never have.

We also can see the Southern lights
really really wanna see those and the northern lights.

We had serious dramas here with some storm damage and one of our doggies taking sick and vet bills you would not believe. The plastic fantastic is maxxed out again.
very sorry to hear about that. Specially the puppy. Hope he/she's better now.

and better oil than what you would get at a restaurant...
Does she use pnut oil? Or another kind?

I'm thinking about fixin' country fried ham, cheese grits, and... the coup de gras:

Homemade biscuits
Comin to yur house for supper. Then headed to semi's for ribs and lumpia!

Weather changes have my body in spasms. Today is a day for staying inside and using the little pills that allow me to get through the day.
I hear ya! (((((((Diver)))))))

In case you didn't know it, I have not been a happy camper lately. Taking all those NSAIDS was covering up a lot of problems, but life can get downright unpleasant without.
sorry yur having so many problems darlin! ((((((3mg))))))))) My finger got lazy typin that, and had you at 33mgs lol

I get it too, but it is so not right that folks in chronic pain that don't abuse it, can't get pain meds.

You're lucky. Well, not because you're in pain, but because he'll actually give you pain meds. It's horrible here trying to get pain meds, even from the pain specialists. They flat out tell ya that they reserve most of it for cancer patients. I'm grateful I don't have cancer, but there are other folks that live with constant pain. Sorry you have to deal with the pain, but glad yur doc is at least helping.

Well that doesn't sound too bad but with Ginny the doc said she needs to quit smoking what is legal here which she does once a day before dinner so she will get an appetite. She's been doing it for years and only does a little before dinner. So of course it showed up in the UA and the doc says it puts her at high risk whatever that means. I mean she has been doing it for years. She has to see the pain management guy and another UA in 3 months. This could be tough for her she has done it for so long.

I have one more OT appt for my hand. Continuing my PT exercises independently. Then I see the ortho this month for my hand, right ankle, and neck. Right ankle is an old injury, the others are arthritis. They changed osteorarthritis to arthritis NOS. Seems like my whole body aches at times, but part of it may be the cold I am now getting over. Then I see the ENT Dr for my ears and sinuses. Then I see the gut doctor. Three appts in the big city this month, all on separate days. In case you didn't know it, I have not been a happy camper lately. Taking all those NSAIDS was covering up a lot of problems, but life can get downright unpleasant without.

Haven't attended a quilting meeting for more than a month. And have done nothing, either, other than making some dresser scarves for myself. Just starting to crochet grocery bags again. Size I hook with heavy thread, so doesn't require much more than range of motion.

I am glad I changed doctors, but catching up on all my concerns is an ache.
I'll see your ENT and raise you a cardiologist.

Is that the stress test that they speed your heart up with a shot?I know they won't let me take a stress test haven't for 7 years now. I'm still ...... about this pain specialist they are going to require me to go to. Stinking state just like the FDA. They know I don't absorb stuff like a normal person they can tell that with the pee test I have to take every year, if one of you guys took the medication I did it would be off the chart mine is within the therapeutic range. That should tell them something.
That be the one as well as injecting me with a radioisotope.;)
