Well, so do snow tires. Studs not required. They go on all four wheels.
Yer prolly thinkin what I thot. How the hell do you steer with a snow tire on da front? Well... they aren't a "classic" sno tyre. Basically all weather tires with a softer rubber. (they wear out quik!) But they grab better than any regular tire.

That's what I heard and we bought these about 10 years ago they are also on all 4 wheels which is the law here. I know they make some good tires these days but still the snow tires siped without studs that they make these days will grip as well as these all weather maybe if you have all wheel drive but the way the conditions get around here I see people all the time slide into intersections in the ditch everything else because they figured hey I have all weather tires thats good for all weather. They have gotten us through some pretty bad conditions but they are obsolete and will get some new ones. possibly all wheel drive also.

Ha well they got her in early and this guy hires a few extras for this time of year. The kid didn't get the hubcap on right and it fell off when she was in traffic she said she heard something when she got to the docs right front hubcap missing. She is going to go back and see if she sees it. He tried to tell me it was missing. He says yeah the one with after market hubcaps. I said there is no way and they were the hubcaps that came with it when we bought it new. So she is going to follow her tracks back on a 6 lane road and see if she sees it then back to the shop.

Pat, point being the softer rubber grips. Really grips. So all 4 wheels have superior stopping traction even with 2 wheel drive. Frum wut I understand they'll stop faster than a studded tire.
FWIW, I don't use em but the lil woman duz. I lernt ta drive way back wen u actually hadda lern to drive, not just point da car in da direction u wanna go. ;)

Yeah me too drove in Alaska, down the Alcan in the middle of winter in 68, S Dak that was 2 years in Alaska about 160miles from the arctic circle. But when we got em that was the way to go. They don't get a whole bunch of use so just didn't want to put out the money. We figure on getting a new car when she get on Medicure maybe not new but close. Then we'll think about some good tires.

You know I'm almost ashamed to say it but I voted for Mr. T. Man did I get sucked in. Although the choice wasn't that good I really think I made a mistake. That's why I don't buy used cars actually I do or have but never from a used car dealer. I learned many years ago that the new car dealerships only keep the good ones and wholesale the rest. Something else my dad taught me. It is different these days now they wholesale most of them.

A movie everyone needs to see. Cries from Syria. I can't believe what Assad and Putin are doing to those people. They both need to be dead. It's a disgrace and some of our top politicians have relations with this government is even worse. It's on HBO go and probably on Kodi. They say it is a fight against terrorism thats why they hit 21 hospitals and many schools while they were filled with kids. It's really genocide Assad dropped like 3000 tons of poison gas on his own people.

Hi all! Thanks for the kind words. The saga started 9 months ago when DH had a physical and his BP and cholesterol were up. He had stress test, then a nuclear stress test and echo cardiogram, and finally catheterization (via the wrist). They found that the vessel known as 'the widow maker' was 100% blocked. Fortunately, another blood vessel decided to take a road trip and connect below the blockage and it's enough that they don't recommend a bypass. The bad news is he also has an aortic aneurysm. It's below critical size but needs to be monitored. He's on a mix of meds, basically standard protocol, but he has side effects of dizziness, lighteadedness etc. He monitors his BP (obsessively!!) so it doesn't seem like that's crashing and causing the problem. They tried changing the timing of when he takes his meds but that didn't help. I've been nagging him to call the doc and he's FINALLY seen the light and has an appointment next week. I'm hoping he's just not reacting well to the drugs (typical DH) and it's not another problem. We have a good cardiologist so I'm comfortable with that at least.

My TN meds can put me into a fog and play brain games. I'm having a flare up and am avoiding calling the doc. I'm at the max dose of the drug I'm on and another was toxic to my liver. The next step is just trying different ones to see if they help. Unfortunately, the class of drugs recommended generally send me into a zombie state for a week or better. With the added responsibilities at work and DH's condition, I don't dare go there right now. UGH.

And wasn't March supposed to go out like a lamb? Get that white stuff off my lawn! We're in the 4-6" projections for snow
