and then was gone again. Between rain pain and the new puppy, I haven't had much time for online. Trying to get caught up now. Still have about 15 pages to go, so will do these quotes then continue on. I had 28-3/4 pages yesterday that I was behind on if I mathed right. Of course we all know that is debatable. :D

lol. my dad kind of invented the coffee pots with the timers on them. After he'd retired he decided to drive a school bus for awhile. Having to get up at 3 am he bought a light timer, and plugged the coffee pot into it. This was before they had the pots with timers on them. When he got up coffee was ready. I think he also did a spicy V-8 before V-8 came out with a spicy one. He always enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen, so he looked at ingredients on the can, and one year made and his wife canned his own V-8 and he did 1/2 of them spicy. They came out pretty good.

lmao! Many years ago when Carrie was in the theater, a friend's husband did kinda the same to her. He'd seen the movie, then went back to the theater and took her. She said when the hand came up out of the grave, he reached over and grabbed her hand.........she let out a blood curdler, and cussed him up one side and down the other.

I've heard that before but had forgotten it. Seems like the one I heard was a sunday school version though, not sure. It's a good'un.

Very glad to hear he's ok and nearly off the oxy. Thanks for the update!

that's wonderful to hear! Had Mike's update quoted, but yours had more info so went with this one. So very happy to hear he's doing so well. and yay! for his first tooth!

mi neethur

absolutely loved the dance. Had it quoted from the vid, but switched the quote to this one. I thought I was subbed to your channel, but this made me check and I wasn't, but am now. I had been thinking it would be nice to have a video of just you dancing, and as I read a bit further, there it was. Thanks :) I do enjoy the scenery when I have time, but when I don't I usually scroll to the dancing. Really love seeing you move with such joy and abandon!

hope you're feeling better, or will be soon.

Hope you are feeling better too or soon will be

I see what you did there ;)

roflmao! this is how many of my conversations go! I'd worry about talking/thinking like me if I were you :D

Those are great, but I think I'd opt for electricity, TP, maybe a few others.

that sounds good

Good job then!! :D

that gorgeous woodvil just sitting there. Have you found the Rm2? If so, I'll gladly make you some coils and send em to ya. Either kanthal or SS wire. There is nothing to wicking the Rm2. Just let me know what ohms ya want.

I've watched those quite a bit for the same reason you mentioned. I had wondered how many of those folks afforded all that he does, and wondered if the show paid for some or all of it. I didn't know he did reversals though.

I haven't for some time. Last time was when I texted her. She's been going through a rough time. She pulls away when going through a bad time. I don't know whether to contact her or leave her be. I want her to know we're thinking of her and love her, but don't want to push her.

that link said it had been removed, but I found this one......is it the same? I've always been fascinated by origami.

I was gonna say we need more info, but you did provide more. Glad y'all are trying to keep your spirits up. ((((((((Russell)))))))))))))

that piece of mind is priceless! and for @DancingHeretik too

pulled that up and put it in my list.

Ok, now off to read the other 15 pages I'm behind, plus whatever else y'all post before I catch up :D

As for me, I go in Thursday to have the nerves in my spine burned in 3 places. Hopefully that will alleviate a great deal of the pain. They say it can last anywhere between 6 months and 2 years, but it's typically around 8 months. They'll do it on the right side, then we'll see about the left if it works well for the right. Short of replacing discs which they can't do, even surgery won't help.

Prayers that this works!

It's going to be a fun game to watch in any event, but... go Heels!

Since the Zags will be treated like heroes regardless of outcome, we can make everybody happy with a NC win.:toast:

NC's hero status is not so guaranteed should they end up 2nd best for a second consecutive year. On Tobacco Road, the expectations are always really high. :D The Tarheels lost to Villanova by virtue of a heartbreakingly fantastic buzzer-beater shot in last year's championship.

If destiny determines that Gonzaga is to be the victor, I hope them Bulldogs do it running away, by a significant margin.

Actually that's not true. I'd rather witness a thriller, win or lose, than see my team lose a game that's not close. Seeing my team win a laugher would be OK, but that seems like a really unlikely possibility in this case.

This sends me on a tangent, relating to the Buffalo Bills. I've never had any regard for those who are critical of the fact that they lost 4 consecutive Super Bowls. Losing 4 straight Super Bowls is a record, yes, but so is APPEARING in 4 straight Super Bowls.
Hey I saw they had tornado warnings in S Carolina today. How's the weather there Dave.

Well Ginny went back to our old doctor and I think she is going to take her back and wrote her a script for 62.5's She starts Sunday I will get mine next week. So the fun starts we are so looking forward to getting off this crap. The doc couldn't figure out why this other doc wrote her a Rx for something more addicting then what she was taking but when there is a pharmacy in the doctors office bldg and the bottom of the Rx says they will give you a 10% discount if you use them kind of makes me wonder. The Rite Aid we go to special ordered them in because it is something no one uses as he said. Wow that would be 20 cents for Ginny she only has a $2 copay. I suppose that would be good for someone without insurance like I sort of think a lot of their patients are. Just a little hole in the wall pharmacy too.

Today's video took more of my time than average, because it was a threefer. (I wasn't happy with the results of either my first effort or my second effort). I'm having a blast, though, learning to do more and more tricks in the editing process.
that's fantastic that you're having so much fun doing this! I've toyed with making card making videos, but there are many out there already who do it just fine. I would enjoy doing the video, but I think the editing, rendering and uploading would make me wanna scream and tear my hair out! Since I cut a bunch of it off, I would miss what I tore out.

I've been enrolled in Don't Soak Your Beans U for a little while now and have found that their revolutionary and radical teachings match my taste.
Don't soak your dried beans! Now even the cool kids agree

Do Soak Your Beans U is the school with centuries of tradition. I think the two schools are meeting this weekend in the Final Four but I could be wrong.
How to Soak Your Beans :: Camellia Brand
I've never soaked em either. But I do put em in a crock pot the day before.....cook em on high for 16 hours. The beans kinda break down at that point and the broth gets a lil thicker, more like soup. Add whatever strikes me at the time. Smoked hamhocks or neck bones, or do Mexican barracho beans with chorizo and jalapeno. Along of course with all the required spices, garlic onion etc

Well, I'm still alive. Feeling better. Still no real news from the cardio dude. He still doesn't have all the test results so I'm still taking Xaralto (blood thinner). He does thing the episode of Afib was a one time thing because he hasn't seen any of it since. However I do routinely have Atrial Tachycardia (fast heartbeat). Doesn't think it's a problem cause it's nit that high. Also still have PVCs. He says not to worry about those either as there aren't that many. He said some showed up on my halter test (24hr EKG). Ask him how many and he told me 53 in 24 hours. OoooohKayyyy. Guess that's not too many.
I'll try to do better with checking in but, I'm pretty engaged around here. Working on the house and looking for work.
I was shocked at 53 PVCs a day til I looked it up, and apparently 20,000 a day is something to get excited about. Wow. Really hoping you get some good answers about your heart though. If he doesn't figure it out, I'd seek someone else.

Debadoo was back (kind of) and then disappeared again - Where'd she go? Get back in here @Debadoo ...
hehehe Here I iz. Nice to be missed. Are you in need of a good whackin?? Been too long?? Just so you know I love you.
Have the puter in the livin room again so I can be on the couch. when it's in the cave (as it always is if my dil is here, or expected to be back soon) it's really hard to get online. They are supposed to be back tomorrow after work, so we'll see.

@Debadoo bait!

Look who finally got big enough to come to his new home!

I have had this one saved for awhile. This is one of the best pics I've seen in a long time. Gorgeous subject, but with all the camera talk, this is also a beautiful pic! Was thinking this had been done on someone's cell. Not certain about that though. The background isn't as clear, but boy he sure is!

They are sweeties!! I am working on getting a dog. Decided to go ahead and meet one, may not be what I want, but worth checking into.
oh that's wonderful! They sure are a ton of company! As others said, wait til you find the right one. Cuz they are also a lot of work of course. You need to make sure y'all are made for each other. A good part of my peace of mind comes from puppy love and snuggles! The kids came by and took both dogs to her folks today. I don't think they've seen Ozzy yet. So I am puppy-less tonite. But they're supposed to be back tomorrow. I hope in future they limit it to taking one dog at a time. But one night isn't bad........gives me a much needed break, particularly from a demanding puppy.

Thank you so much for posting those sweet puppy pics, Kenna. I really needed lifting up today. I had to put down my sweet little old beagle, Minnie Pearl, today. She had been sick for a while and yesterday she went into total renal failure.
I will miss her a lot.

((((((((((((Kim)))))))))))) I'm so sorry hun! I'm so glad she isn't hurting now, but sorry you are.

I wanna go!

Meeeeee Toooooooo that's about the neatest thing I've seen in forever!!!

DONE!

THANKS Dave!!!
wahooooooo enjoy your new toy. And when shall we expect your first video??? :p

Had cataract surgery yesterday.
Hope you're seeing much better now and that the surgery was wonderfully done. I need to get mine checked again. I have cataracts in both eyes, but at last screening a couple years ago, were no where near needing surgery. It seems they are very slow to progress and I'm very grateful for that.

Her besides the RA she fell down the stairs in around 2000 causing a problem where the nerve to her right legs was pinched and pain all the time. She had surgery and they opened the hole that the nerve runs through in around 2003 finally after about 8 years it was getting worse again she went to see another surgeon the one she had retired and he said he didn't think he could fix it this time and might make it worse so he didn't want to do it. The injections are kind of a scary thing also where they inject a steroid and anasthetic directly to the affected nerve using a fluoroscope to pinpoint where the needle is if it works it will last a couple of months and they do it again if it still works they inject something in on the 3rd time to kill the nerve. There can also be some pretty bad side effects with that including paralyzation which is rare but so is what happened to me.
They are fixin to burn the nerves in my back in 3 places on the right side. He said that they use a needle with a tip hot enough to burn them, but after typically about 8 months it comes back and has to be done again. If this works we'll see about doing the left side. I certainly feel for her.......literally. Sounds like we have a lot of the same stuff going on. My discs are just deteriorating. I had a really bad fall in 1999 that compounded the problem, but have had bad back pain to various degrees since 1982. That's when I was discharged from the Navy for it. It would act up some before that, but not bad.

Wow they snuck her in ahead of some that left their cars there
Glad they got her in and she didn't have to wait.

Hi all! Thanks for the kind words. The saga started 9 months ago when DH had a physical and his BP and cholesterol were up. He had stress test, then a nuclear stress test and echo cardiogram, and finally catheterization (via the wrist). They found that the vessel known as 'the widow maker' was 100% blocked. Fortunately, another blood vessel decided to take a road trip and connect below the blockage and it's enough that they don't recommend a bypass. The bad news is he also has an aortic aneurysm. It's below critical size but needs to be monitored. He's on a mix of meds, basically standard protocol, but he has side effects of dizziness, lighteadedness etc. He monitors his BP (obsessively!!) so it doesn't seem like that's crashing and causing the problem. They tried changing the timing of when he takes his meds but that didn't help. I've been nagging him to call the doc and he's FINALLY seen the light and has an appointment next week. I'm hoping he's just not reacting well to the drugs (typical DH) and it's not another problem. We have a good cardiologist so I'm comfortable with that at least.

My TN meds can put me into a fog and play brain games. I'm having a flare up and am avoiding calling the doc. I'm at the max dose of the drug I'm on and another was toxic to my liver. The next step is just trying different ones to see if they help. Unfortunately, the class of drugs recommended generally send me into a zombie state for a week or better. With the added responsibilities at work and DH's condition, I don't dare go there right now. UGH.

And wasn't March supposed to go out like a lamb? Get that white stuff off my lawn! We're in the 4-6" projections for snow
I can understand your reasoning for not going to the doc, but I just hate that they can't find something that will help without making you feel worse. I know I don't have to tell you how lucky he is to even have survived the 100% blockage of that LAD artery. That's scary having an aortic aneurism that they just don't feel is big enough to do anything about. Have they used the clot busting drug TPA? or is there a reason they don't want to?

Ten years ago in this hour, my Patty was being wheeled in the OR for her hemorrhaging brain tumor emergency surgery...

Good night, and hug your loved ones!
((((((((((Bubba and Patty)))))))))))) What a fantastic celebration when they had given her so little time. Whadda they know anyhow!! She sure showed them a thing or three! :) :) :)

Does this apply to anyone else here? LOL
I need to learn how to resize photos. They're either too big or too small.

ALL THE TIME! and it drives me nuts. I do use a med holder thingy that has 4 daily slots and you fill it for a week, and I try to put it in my phone when I take them, but sometimes forget. A lot of times I don't know if I took them or not even with all that, because morning pills might have been taken at 4 am then I go to bed, get up and don't know if I took them or thought about taking them, but they aren't in there.

Speekin' o' ringy toanz... here'z a bunch eye maid fer frendz n' fambly...

I dl'd one now you need to help me get it on my phone please. You did say you take requests Welp, that's my request. :D

Is this the piano play dog? I liked that! Edit: noooooo it was the two guys, that was hilarious!

My Mockingbirds are back. They nest in a little tree next to my patio every year. They wake me up singing every morning.

That's so great!

Yes... a cappella. Yes they were before pentatonix.
have loved A Capella for a long time!

Coffee snob stuff: My 52 oz coffee mug is filled with a pot of Rwandan coffee made from beans that I roasted 4 days ago. I tend to like coffees grown in Rwanda, and I've roasted 6 or 7 different ones in the 5 years since I started roasting my coffee at home. It is easy for a specialty coffee from East Africa to be too fruity-tasting for me, particularly if it's dry-processed. For instance, I haven't yet roasted a coffee from Yemen that I'm crazy about. This Rwandan is wet-processed, though, and the berry sweetness of it is wonderful to my tastebuds. Good thing, too, since I have 9 more pounds of the green beans.
I don't think I've tried Rwandan, but you know I love Sumatran. I have recently discovered that another fav is Guatamalan Ixban. Have you tried that one?

Kuerig. And by the time I go thru 3 cups I've used 3 scoops of coffee, the same as I used in a drip coffee maker. Just stronger.

JUP! and I have to use the medium size cup button on the keurig to even make that strong enough.

Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard,
to get her poor daughter a dress.
When she got there, the cupboard was bare,
and so was her daughter, I guess.
roflmao!!

For pre-roasted store-bought whole bean coffee, I never found anything else as good as 8 O'Clock 100% Colombian, even though I once bought a pre-roasted specialty-grade coffee. The 8 O'Clock varies greatly in quality from bag to bag but is pretty darn good.
I've never tried the 8 o clock. I think that's the one that several have recommended, but it was either too expensive last time I checked, like real pricey, or I was confusing it with another brand, so I didn't get it a few years ago when I went looking for it.

good to see ya, but wish you'd fill us in on how you are. even if you only pm me :D Think about you a lot and wonder how you are.

Man I got so depressed last night I was taking it out on the dog the wife everything I touched. I just wanted to die, I even prayed for it in my sleep. I have been stuffing myself all day taking all this protein everything I can think of and nothing just stay the same the more I eat the more I crap is all that happens. I thought I was gaining a little but all I'm doing is holding. Started me thinking there is something else wrong with me but I don't know what. Ginny had the same operation and eats one meal a day and still gains weight. I'm just about to the end of my rope.
((((((((Pat))))))))))) With the 137 being within limits for BMI, did they consider the 15 lbs of prosthetics? I know you don't always feel as cheerful as you appear to be, but you sure do put up one helluva fight darlin! Don't stop now. Vent to us all you need to. You know we'll listen all day every day if need be. We all just wish there were something we could do to make it better.

I'm not so much sick of my health problems. They're nothing compared to yours. I'm just scared. I'm such a baby!
(((((((((T))))))))) It doesn't matter sometimes who has things worse, when you're scared it's such a hard thing to deal with. I want to call you but don't wanna wake you if you are sleepin. If you see this, call me. I'll be up pretty late.

Any George Jones fans? A friend of mine sent me this video and I do believe I have found another favorite. Nancy loved everything George Jones did and I'm sure she would also love Tony Jackson.

that was kewl. Can't say I'm really a GS fan, but I did enjoy his voice and some of his songs. Didn't care much for him as a man.

@2legsshrt: After much deliberation, I've come up with a plan.

1. Stay awake until your wife goes to sleep.
2. Wake her up.
3. Inform her that since you were already awake, she did not beat you up.
4. Prepare for the immediate commencement of your next beating.
lmao! You've given me quite a few chuckles today as I've been catching up, as well as some full on belly laughs. Thanks ;) I truly do enjoy your wit.

I have come to the realization that some women are capable of spousal abuse.
Jup for several decades that I've been aware of, this has been a much larger problem than most realize. In part because many men don't want to come forward and admit their wife beats them

How dat duplicate post happened I dunno, so the second one is hereby replaced with this here dribble.
I'd heard of that mixture, but had never looked it up to see what was in it. Sounds yummy.

Prayers that this works!

Hey I saw they had tornado warnings in S Carolina today. How's the weather there Dave.
It rained most of the day. Fairly breezy but no tornado watches or warnings that I've seen. Good BB game so far, Pat. UNC is having trouble finding the basket. You're correct that Gonzaga hasn't yet won a national championship in any sport.

I have recently discovered that another fav is Guatamalan Ixban. Have you tried that one?
I don't know. Could have had beans from that grower or cooperative with a different name. The names are usually invented by the reseller. I haven't gone nuts over any Central American coffees yet but never had one I didn't like either. The joke about Central American coffees is that they're too perfect.

The one I tried is from Bodhi Leaf or something like that. I think you get most/all of yours from Sweet Maria's??

Yes, you have the outfit's name right.. Bodhi Leaf.. wonders will never cease. :thumb: I finally bought some beans from someplace besides Sweet Maria's, a place called Happy Mug, but haven't yet bought anything from Bodhi Leaf. I need to hold off on buying more for a while to get my stash reduced.

Today is that special kind of day.
The kind of day that you want to record every single second
Put it into a decorative box with smiley faces all over it,
Tie it with a decorative bow,
...
...
...
And burn it out of existence.

My day started just a brief 4 hours after going to bed. 5:30 and the phone rings. I had to quickly grope for the receiver and answer.
Mom: " who am I speaking to?"
Me: "Your loving son Ken."
Mom: "<dad> had a heart attack and I've brought him to the hospital and..."
-- dial tone --
Well.. my bedside phone doesn't have much but a dial and receiver, so I turn on the lights and stumble to the living room wondering why she used my dad's name instead of saying 'your dad'.
Call her back, and, yes.. "your dad is in the emergency room now being looked over, but they don't want to call it a heart attack, just a possible heart condition."

welp. no more sleep today.
Later on, while at work, I get several texts with updates...
I like to take a nap during lunch, so I lay down on the couch and drift to sleep.... for 20 min. Mom calls again.
She doesn't remember calling me this morning and was wondering how I knew to call her... she was not really with it this morning.
Turns out that the good news is that it was not a heart problem.
The almost as bad news is that it's pneumonia.
time to sleep - 4:20 <sigh>
Then they delayed his Dialysis today until his heart started rapid pulses.

Mon called tonight at 8:30 to tell me this gem. She is exhausted as she never even got the 20 min nap. She got 6 hours of sleep, but still.
Tomorrow, she is going to go postal on the staff to make sure that his Dialysis is given in the morning like it should be.

ya... time to put this day in the trash.

It rained most of the day. Fairly breezy but no tornado watches or warnings that I've seen. Good BB game so far, Pat. UNC is having trouble finding the basket. You're correct that Gonzaga hasn't yet won a national championship in any sport.

I don't know. Could have had beans from that grower or cooperative with a different name. The names are usually invented by the reseller. I haven't gone nuts over any Central American coffees yet but never had one I didn't like either. The joke about Central American coffees is that they're too perfect.
That Guatamalan Ixban is delicious!

Double ugh! But very glad it wasn't a heart attack!
