Reminds me of the atomic cannon I heard about many decades ago. I kind of assumed somebody sprinkled some atoms down the barrel and set it off. Not the first time I ever embarrassed myself.

Don't trust atoms. They make up everything.

Hey kind of off subject but Netflix has Bram Stokers Dracula on it now. We have probably watched it 20 times. Besides having some great actors such as Gary Oldman, Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder and Anthony Hopkins but the thing that really shines is the Directing from Frances Ford Coppola. All those times we've watched it and we still see things in it that we hadn't seen before. For being 26 years old the effects are really amazing. There just are so many little things, he really did a great job with it. It has a few pretty graphic scenes but you can tell that he put a lot into this movie. It is a love story. If you watch it you'll see a lot of little things that have been hidden in it, you have to watch closely but it is amazing

Also I wanted to say after reading over all your posts several times that you are all right. I really think Nermal hit on something that I believe also, that is that our lives are so intertwined in each other that when she goes I will follow shortly after. I think that is what you are saying. I think our families see that also. I depend on her as much as she depends on me. I believe we are true soulmates, we are each others best friends. I know my Gdaughter sees it and even if she wants me to move to another place someday, I just don't know if it will ever happen. Thanks for all of your insight into things. It is very much appreciated.

Patrick, I know the families are different, but part of the situation is similar. My brother was in very bad shape due to a lot of years of drinking and doing drugs. Among his other ailments his most serious problem was that he needed a new liver. If it wasn't for his wife he would have died years ago. She did everything for him. Well, he finally got his liver, but still didn't take care of himself so he was in pitiful shape. Then his wife, who didn't take care of herself either, ended up with cancer. They totally depended on each other. Eventually she died, but they had made a pact that he would not be far behind. He did end up in a nursing home for a couple years, but here it is 5 years later and he's got his own apartment and is doing very well. The point is you never know how things will turn out if you just give yourself a chance.

Ginny got her pet scan today and tomorrow we find out what they are going to do next. Either a different Chemo or possibly a new clinical trial she may be eligible for. What ever it is I hope it helps her be around a little longer. Plus makes her feel somewhat better.

I can't give you a definitive answer. I have an Echo + 3 dots that I got on special (that happens frequently). I suspect if I raised my voice from the back room or kitchen, the dot in the living room would hear it. I'd rather not get into loud discussions with her though LOL. Now it's easy to sit in my chair and ask her to turn on the lights.

How far can you be from it and still be heard?

I can 'activate' a Dot from at least 30' if I raise my voice a bit. You can also communicate with a Dot using a smart phone. Just upload the Alexa app. Patty uses a Dot to reach me when I'm away from home; extremely handy.

We have three Dots also: den, master BR and garage.

Thank you... I'm guessing....you have the 'smart plugs' for the lights?

I have both smart plugs and the Phillips Hue light bulbs (came with the Echo package). My sister told me the white light from the Color Hue lights is much better than the plain White Hue light. I agree with her but the Color lights are wicked expensive though. I have 1 in the light I use for reading and work the most often.
