I bet you look just fine in a lovely scarf. There's a lot of different ways to wear them and lots of demos online to show you how to do it. I think it's most attractive. It's just going to take some getting used to because you'll look different. Different can be a very good thing!!

Looks like we're just going to be getting sleeting rain here. Ugh!! I agree it would be much better to get the snow for a lot of reasons. If I remember right I think the Farmers Almanac said here in the northeast and north of us it was going to be a cold winter with not a ton of snow. Looks like that prediction might be coming true. For us February is usually our peak winter weather.
Next chemo, I will bring all my scarves and hats, and hope that the Cancer Society lady will be there to show me how to use them. right now, I am comfortable with babushka or nun style. Although I do have a very large batik one with long tails. Probably will get the remaining hair shaved today.

Pat, remember that the hard work will be worth it when you get home.

That would be great to actually have someone there to help you learn to do it yourself. Just gotta practice. Who knows, you might like it and want to keep doing it even after your hair grows back!

Here I am. I hate riding in a snowstorm. I like to think I have control. So after a visit to a nearby town that has better shopping, we said the rosary all the way home. I am feeling nun-like, wearing scarves, even though they are bright colors, it is the tactile, not the visual.

More snow expected mid-week. I want some good snow to insulate my garden. Last winter sub-zero weather without snow did a nasty number on many peoples gardens.
What width & length sre you making your scarves?

Well not much to say from the old folks home. Therapist gave me a workout not a lot but put more of the burden on my shoulders to stand pivot and sit. Made my shoulder and hip hurt pretty bad.Sheyou tomorrow.
It's good you are even able to have some pt! And make you work up an appetite!

We're having a weird winter - mostly mild. Not complaining, but I will be later if we don't get enough freezing to kill off the mosquitos!

altho we could use that here - darn skeeters !

Likewise, although here it's the slugs and other garden pests. Without at least a couple weeks of hard freeze to reduce their population, the following season is a constant struggle!

Right now I have one triangular, 2/3 yard on both legs. Too small to cover adequately. One triangular, 3/4 yard on both legs. Just right. One triangular, one yard both legs, generous, I made a band to catch all the ends. Quite impressive. As for longer and narrower, I don't know how to wrap for that. I suspect the cancer society lady will be there for my appointment and give me some pointers. At least I will be prepared with everything I have. I could take something out of the club stash to experiment with, but don't want to abuse the privilege. I would suspect that a 45x12 strip should make a good wrap, but all I know how to do is babushka and knit. And Muslim-style, too, I guess.

Serged edges, with a narrow fold-over, no worry about excessive bulk from a double-sided construction.

Thanks, Uncle. I have been cruising through them a good part of the evening. I just woke up from a "nap". I think I'll take another until the early morning hours. Had some un-medicated dreams of some wild drunken stupidity. The same set of things happening over and over and being unable to break out of it. Talked to someone near and dear to me a few hours ago. Doing well.

Oh and I know that too well. I am shooting to get out by Friday. I have to be able to stand and pivot by myself. I would still need someone there to keep me upright. That way I can go from the bed to wheelchair to commode back to chair and eventually bed. I'm up to 2 hours in the chair, I thhink I could do more if I take the left prosthetic off after I get to the chair. I have a doctor appointment Friday at 8:15am of all times. About a 30min drive from here and hopefully Ginny will take me so have to be able to do it. They don't provide transportation and it costs about $150 each way I think to use the med transfer. I sure wish it was later. Ginny will love that NOT! Woke up at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep. I'm ready to go home. Had therapy yesterday. Just 1 but was enough for me. Hip still hurting from it. Have gotten to really know a couple of the aides and the watch out for me if you know what I mean. Therapy today at 210 and 320 pm. Ahhh Monday busy day around here. It's going to take a uhaul to take everything home. I'll sure be glad when I don't have to use a bedpan. Almost got caught so sent it home. I have my new one which is just tiny. Works for me.

Apparently our mosquitos are as wimpy in cold weather as we are. We even had rain, but it immediately began to get colder so maybe we don't have new ones. A good hard freeze or 2 should keep them lower this year. They were still horrible this time last year after Harvey.

Yep I'm trying. They keep putting more of the responsibility on me. I was hurting today after. Did 4 stand and pivots and sit. I couldn't wait to get the pain meds. Even after that I still hurt. My shoulder mostly. I'm not supposed to use it and they jump on me when I do but I still use it some. I must've screwed up my shoulder good. Last time I didn't have to have surgery but guess I broke the socket in a few places so lots of hardware there. No pain no gain is true. Each day it's a little more.

Today the stand and pivots were mostly put on me with a little help and I feel it for sure. Plus I'm years older. And poor Ginny, drove 45min to her radiation appt and the machine was broke. So 45min back with a stop to deliver the dinner she made last night as if I was there. Pork roast and potatoes and gravy. She made a plate for the woman accross the hall also who she know from the Cancer cntr. What a gal. They didn't even bother to call and tell her. So she got to spend another day at home trying to relax but the damned neuopothy is really bothering her feet and hands. I have to get someone in here to fix my ...., stingin like crazy. I so wish I hadn't done this.
