Good morning people! What are your plans for Thanksgiving? We're having our son and daughter and their families here for dinner. After the first 2 months of the lockdown we've been getting together due to circumstances and all is well. Boy, I've never been so glad to see a year end as this one. What a mess.

Hiding out, or, rather, continuing to hide out, is on the agenda...

And, while hope is on the horizon, the sheer logistics of getting 350 million people TWO shots, isn't going to be quick. And, of course, that's just the US population. Realistically, until it's knocked down in a lot more of the world, as international travel ramps back up it will still be being brought back in...

My understanding of the Pfizer one is that you get the 2nd shot 21 days after the first one and then you still have to wait a week until immunity so that's a month right there. Not sure about the Moderna and Astra Zeneca one. Yeah, it's gonna take awhile.

IIRC they're both also two shots, not sure of the timing. The Astra Zenaca one seems to lean to the first shot being "half" a dose, with the second one boosting it's efficacy up. It's clear advantage is that it doesn't need -70 degree storage, a huge problem for distribution!

I live with dd, her hubs, and 2 sons. 2 of her 3 daughters will be here with families so that's 3 adults and 3 kids. They are folks that are here fairly often.

2 of us, son and DIL, and good friend (and ER nurse) Geordi's breeder's husband (Grampa). Grama can't make it because she has to work (also a nurse, currently working ICU - she has had COVID and recovered). We will be sending home a big plate of dinner for her!

Welll - Going to best friend's home in West Palm Beach for non-traditional outdoor Bar-B-Q . . . They are serving a Proteguesse meal - similar to a Braciole - with grilled veggies, salad, and pie for dessert . . . There is going to be 4 of us outside on the terrace . . . Going to be interesting to say the least . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Oh my goodness. That sounds delicious. Reminds me of a dish our landlord used to make years ago, but in reverse. It was slices of ham rolled up with a filling of ground beef and chopped veggies and covered in a tomato sauce. He just called it a roulade which I guess is a generic term for rolled up meat dishes like that.

Yep - I think many different cuisines have their versions of a "Roulade" (usually French) . . . The "Braciole" (Italian) - and while many people have their own recipes - it is usually Beef (flattened) that is usually filled in layes of variety of sliced Italian meats/cheese/roasted veg/ and sometimes a few boiled eggs & seasoned bread crumbs then rolled up and tied. . . Can be small individual portions or one large that are seared first and then put in the pot of "Sunday Gravy" to braze . . . . SO GOOD . . .

Oh yea - There is also anther meal called "Porchetta" that many of Italian decent or origin make made of pork rolled up with meat/veg that is covered in a thick layer of herbs & spices then roasted/broiled (So good as a sandwich too) . . .

Either of these reciepies, actually many different versions - can be found with "Google" . . . Just Sayin' . . .

If "You" try any of them - Let "Us" know . . .
