After thought ... who was it that got me started on the Legend of Drizzt. I'm on book #7 now. This from someone who never read a 'fantasy or sci-fi' book in his life.

I know that @Danousa and I were talking about it at one point. Myrany too, possibly. The Drizzt stories are my absolute favorites in the Forgotten Realms world. I'm glad that you are enjoying them!

Robert Jordan's Wheel of time series is one of my all time fantasy favorites. It is however a rather large undertaking to read as it is VERY long. In fact the author died before finishing it but the hand picked person who finished it did a good job of it.

ABSOLUTELY!!! The only other one that comes close is the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. I was very pleased that they still managed to close out the WoT series after Jordan's passing, and was not at all disappointed in how well it was done.

I spent quite awhile reading fantasy as an escape from reality..... I enjoyed Robert Jordan, but preferred Tad Williams. "The Dragonbone Chair" series and "Shadowmarch" series are excellent to lose oneself in....
