Ya know we get some really weird conversations going here. Dish washing vs dishwashers, light bulbs, flys vs flies. Socks then shoes or left vs right. I love it! Of course I've been fighting a head cold for 2 day and it may be just the drugs talking. I haven't been sick all winter long so as soon as the temp holds over 85 for 2 week Of course I get sick. I really do hope it rains this weekend because that gives me a reason to own my lawn tractor. So I hand wash the worst off then dishwasher, mostly CF bulbs where I don't dim or use long, Straight cool A/C with heat strips, & and beer for everything else. Take 2 six packs and call me in the afternoon." My cat's better then your dog, My cats better then yours ,My cats better cause he's just imaginary, My cheeses is better than theirs." What was I saying? "30 day's has Sept, April ,May & Nov, all the rest eats peanut butter except Grandma, She rides a mule" I'm so messed up right now.
I did a 2 ohm Sophia coil today and it's vapeing GOOD!
This is what the back porch is for! Random wandering conversations. Front porch is mainly vaping stuffs

I put my sponges in the dishwasher.

You gotta make sure they dry out in the center after you take them out though. I don't use sponges, but have read that if you put them in a dish with some water and nuke them it will kill all the germs better than the dishwasher.

http://www.animalplanet.com/tv-shows/giraffe-birth-live/

Who's watching the giraffe give birth? It's happening NOW!

I was and still am since they turned the cameras back on. So glad they did that. If anyone is interested they said that Animal Planet will be showing the birth on one of it's shows.

Me too but, I don't like it that they don't dry. Next one will, I guarantee!

Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime. I can't wait for summertime!

I like opening the dishwasher in the winter to dry dishes because it puts a lot of moisture in the air. In the summer not so much. They get the drying cycle then.

Oh well missed it. Glad the yung un is OK.

He is SO cute! And I love that the other giraffes kept coming around to see what was going on and to meet the little guy. The announcer mentioned that they had a baby boy so guess they did get a good look from one of the cameras. Otherwise we'd have to wait a day or 2 until the vets could get in to check him.

Sorta kinda, but it didn't look brutal. They say "the baby takes a 6 foot fall to the ground" but that's not completely true since the head and front feet are much closer to the ground than that by the time the tail end comes out of the momma.

If anyone's been waiting for price to come down on LED bulbs, the 60 watt equivalent Philips bulb is available on Amazon for $4.

You're not supposed to use that particular bulb in completely enclosed fixtures but it will work with a dimmer.

I thought the LEDs were not supposed to operate with the heat that the incandescents do so wouldn't the enclosed fixtures be ok with the LEDs?

OK. Please sign the petition of you have not already.

Also, I'm sad to say that I almost doubled the contributions to help save my right to vape. Even $5 will help!

Done. Thanks Ken.

I can wander with the best of them. :D Several months back we ditched cable and got a Roku for one of our TVs. We liked it so much Dude ordered another one. I discovered a bunch of free channels today and am watching Moving On. Anyone remember that old series with Claude Akins as a truck driver? I had forgotten all the episodes, so it's like a new show for me. There are oodles of channels to choose from, most are free, some have a nominal fee attached. This is so much better than cable and much cheaper. Gotta love it!!

After I did da lil' research a few days ago, I'm not gonna worry 'bout enclosed LED heat, except possibly fer da 100 watters. I think it's just da manufacturers playing da 'play it safe' card.

Goodness, just think of da heat LEDs and their associated solid-state control components have to survive in da many extreme environments! Keep in mind dat dere is control circuitry fer dem LED bulbs in da bases. Regardless, I won't hesitate in puttin' 'em where ever I use any other bulb!

LED lamps do have a power supply and that can get warm if they don't have air circulation around it. If you'll notice the heat sync fins on some of them. These are the better made ones I think.

I've lost the satellite TV. Big rainstorm down to the south of us and it's blocking the signal. Lost the race first and then I just lost the local news. Different satellites for each of them. It'll come back soon as the storm moves by. Ok, it's back!

That's why I DETEST satellite. Yet I'm stuck with it. And... we have cable too. But the cable co. doesn't carry Turner classic movies. Which is on 98% of the time. :( I'd LOVE to chop up the satellite.

It's raining like pouring it out of a boot outside. We don't lose it to much. If you live in an area that is effected too often they have "rain fade" dishes that are quite a bit bigger and don't lose the signal as often. I don't know if Direct TV has them but I do know you can buy one from solidsignal.com.

Re sponges - I have nuked them but not in water. Makes so much sense it is a "duh" moment.

Re led bulbs - wasn't there a problem up north when they changed all the stop lights to led and in winter they filled with snow so they couldn't be seen because they don't put off enough heat?

Having a hard time typing cuz I weed wacked the dog yard today and my hands are not working. The vibration killed them for the day. Braces make it hard to type. Oh well, getting old just sucks.

YI thought the LEDs were not supposed to operate with the heat that the incandescents do so wouldn't the enclosed fixtures be ok with the LEDs?

That's a bit of a misconception. The LED's don't generate much heat - but the 120 volt to approximately 3.5 volt power supply conversion does. In the flat lollipop style Philips bulbs the completely flat center portion contains a solid sheet of metal between the plastic, acting as a heat sink and that area does get rather hot to the touch.
