If you do, I'll let you slide for mentioning your affections for FauxNews, lol! (They're still a fine collection of ignorant and often physically attractive bigots, though. I watch them enough to keep up with what the misled are thinking. I subscribe to TownHall and Jack Kingston's newsletter for the same purpose.) Flame-proof suit on!

Oh my, how effin' benevolent of you (your lol aside)!!!

I must admit that I'm not familiar with Greg Gutfeld, although it's quite possible I have heard him without attaching his name. Anyone who speaks sense about vaping is a friend to me. I don't know of any reason for vaping to be a partisan issue.

Dave,

So help me, I've truly have tried to overlook your sanctimonious attitude and appreciate your relative ECF contributions! BUT, when you posted...

"Personally, I consider support of President Obama to be an indication of integrity and intelligence rather than the badge of dishonor that is promoted in the ad." and your top comment above...

.. I day-um near bled to death from a bleeding tongue (sorry, one of your fantasies denied).

Why is it soooo difficult for you to keep your political views the in proper forums/genre?

We porch veterans all know that you could GAS what anyone thinks 'bout your 'leanings'. That seems to be your rationale to wizz on the folk here that are here for comradery, fun and info!

<sigh>

I'm whooped, I'm beat. I'm not sure having a day of fun is worth it any more. Getting old sucks!
[/rant]

The fly tying/fishing club I've belonged to for close to 40 years does an annual 1 day clinic to teach new comers and novices about the sport. The location is gorgeous just below a picturesque water falls in the PA Pocono Mtns (ok for you westerners, they might be hills but we call 'em mountains). We had really good turnout - about 35 folks. The cost is only $40 which include a fantastic lunch of meat balls, chili, hot dogs, burgers and all the fixings.

It's about a 2 hour drive from the house and I usually get up about 5am to get there before 8am. So last night, I whimped out on getting up so early, booked a motel room and drove up last night. So it was only a 10 minute drive this morning and i could 'sleep in'. It made the morning and afternoon so much more fun and pleasant. But yikes, after being in the cold air and cold water all day - I'm one beat old man tonight.

I have a Roku 3 among my other entertainment options. I only use it when nothing is on. Wife doesn't really know how to use the tech stuff so we mostly just stick to regular Direct TV.

Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime. I can't wait for summertime!

I just graduated from my Roku2 to a Roku3 and I'm using HULU plus for the free 30 days and we like it pretty darned well. Just finishing up Season 10 of Deadliest Catch. We are hoping they have A.D. on it. Except for Nascar it really has a lot of good TV stuff with that and Netflix we almost could lose our $110 Dish bill every month except for Nascar.

I've been wondering about Hulu. I found a 2 mo free trial thing, wonder if it's still any good. The trial on the roku says only one week. Kind of afraid to try it though, not sure it would replace satellite for me, I do love me some TCM. Is that on there? Do they just do certain shows, or do they do all shows on a network? We can't ADD another thing, so kinda afraid I'd like it too much, but not enough to replace Netflix. They have some original shows we like a lot. well, one for sure lol Of course, it's not my decision anyhow, so really afraid I'd like it a lot but SIL and nephew wouldn't wanna switch. There are things I love about netflix and things I really don't like!

Hulu is just like Netflix, but has a lot of TV shows that air a couple of days after it aired on TV - things that Netflix does not have. Netflix has better original shows and does not have commercials like Hulu does. To me, if I am paying for the subscription - then why am I still having to watch commercials - the better the show - the more the commercials - or - at least it seemed that way... My buddy has both - no cable or satellite...

I do not think so. Like I said my buddy has it and Netflix - commercials do not bother him because it has things he wants to see that Netflix does not have. I only use Netflix and almost basic cable and of course I have a lot of channels that I have bookmarked - get them one week late, but who cares what week I see it...

I do not have DVR capability, but I have friends that will only watch a show after it is on their DVR for the same reason...

when my son and I were still living in the same house a few years ago, we'd gotten direct tv set up...... they said you can have a free HD box, or a free DVR box. well, I didn't really know what either of those things were....so I asked her. She asked when I bought my TV, uhmmm 1996. lol sooooooo yeah she says, the HD box probably won't do you any good at all......get the DVR box. well, ok probably won't ever use it, but it might come in handy at some point. Honey, I became a DVR'in fool!! lol Even if something is on that I want to see, I'll dvr it and watch something else already dvr'd while it records. lol
