Goodnight all. Going to try to go back to sleep. Woke up to a minor panic attack around midnight. Gotta hate that. Feeling better now. My ..... neighbor is having his weekly backyard firepit party and making noise. Does it once a week or so. I think he works nights and has a get together on his nights off. The night of the party varies so I think it's like his Friday night. Oh well. Waddayagonnado?

Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime. I can't wait for summertime!

Find out his schedule each week.........take a nap that day........and go party with em!!! lol glad you're feeling better, and hope you can get back to sleep

Actually more a sustainability issue. When you have a million lines of code in a programming language no longer taught, maintenance becomes a nightmare. And sometimes you just need to scrap it all and retool the factory to make products that work/sell in a changing world.

Just put your cpu tower in the rocker next to you on the porch, and it's mobile...
Ahem. Classy, the porches have wifi, we leave the cpu's at home. We're all portable up in here!

I'm whooped, I'm beat. I'm not sure having a day of fun is worth it any more. Getting old sucks!
[/rant]

The fly tying/fishing club I've belonged to for close to 40 years does an annual 1 day clinic to teach new comers and novices about the sport. The location is gorgeous just below a picturesque water falls in the PA Pocono Mtns (ok for you westerners, they might be hills but we call 'em mountains). We had really good turnout - about 35 folks. The cost is only $40 which include a fantastic lunch of meat balls, chili, hot dogs, burgers and all the fixings.

It's about a 2 hour drive from the house and I usually get up about 5am to get there before 8am. So last night, I whimped out on getting up so early, booked a motel room and drove up last night. So it was only a 10 minute drive this morning and i could 'sleep in'. It made the morning and afternoon so much more fun and pleasant. But yikes, after being in the cold air and cold water all day - I'm one beat old man tonight.

Beautiful!

I guess I'm never gonna be a mod collector, drip tips are another story...;) My latest little pretty:

Bookmarked! The prices are reasonable for that sort of thing. And, I love the shape of your new drip tip!

As for Tapatalk, I never have figured out how to get it to do what I want. I welcome new forum software.

Thanks Classie!! Hope it works better for all.

OK, the Atlantis has been spoken for. Thanks!
Glad you found someone to take it for you.

they did say that was a big part of it, but also that someone was gonna start penalizing places that didn't have good software for mobile device users. didn't even know they could do that. Also, not sure how FDA regs would affect ECF but they mentioned something about that too.
GOOGLE is who was going to start penalizing.

interesting cooincidence. I also woke abruptly. Not a panic attack though. Acid reflux. I hate having that, but the only effective medication for it is really bad for my bones.
Had to sit up and hack the acid from my lungs for a while, now gonna try going back to sleep too.

Howdy howdy y'all!! I miss this place!! Just poking my head in to say Hello. Some fruitcaking genius at work downloaded an illegal movie, and we had our Wifi Internet taken away from us. Now I can only get on once I leave work and get back to the apartment. By that time, I'm dead on my feet and all I can think about is bed. Guess I'll never catch up now. :(

Yeh I've been there, done that. Taking Nexium. Is that what's bad for your bones? If so I didn't know that and will have to ask my doc about it. Bad knees, hips and osteoarthritis in ankles, wrists and several finger joints. Don't need anymore problems for God sake.

Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime. I can't wait for summertime!

Yes, ask your doc about it. Arthritis, decreased bone density and increased risk for hip and spine fractures are known side effects with all of the proton pump inhibitors. That includes Nexium, Prilosec and others.

There is controversy regarding Nexium in the medical world. A good number of doctors feel that AstraZeneca, the manufacturer, made meaningless changes to the formulation of Prilosec for the sole purpose of obtaining a new patent when their patent on Prilosec ran out.

I believe they changed one molecule on the non medicine side of the drug and renamed it. Read an article about that in Medscape a while back. Doesn't surprise me at all. Lots of money involved.

Prilosec was the one that I found out on, but Nexium is the same problem

Yeh, that's fully enclosed too. I have LED bulbs in all of those in my house though and haven't had any problems. YMMV.

Some LED bulbs are certified by the manufacturer to be OK in fully enclosed fixtures, some are not. Same with whether or not they will work with a dimmer.

Ya, unfortunately if there is a bad side-effect, I'm affected. I had a prescription to reduce my cholesterol and started having sharp pains in my elbows and knees. Don't even remember which one it was, but I think it was pulled for other side effects... when I looked them up at the time, large joint damage was a 3% chance. I had a back med when I tore my ligaments in the army... which caused my back muscles to clench up.
I have a poor track record for prescriptions, which is why I will not accept one that has a commercial that says to ask you doctor if it's right for you.
Oh, and I live in an area with "certain fungal infections"... just like 100% of the rest of the world, so I'm not falling for that one either.

My doctor limits me to 6 months - now I think I know why. My friends doctor has had him on it for over 2 years without a break - I am forwarding him this link...
Between Prilosec and Nexium I think I've been on them for 20 years. Both my family doc and my gastro doc say to stay on them. Now I don't know hate second guessing my docs. My brother died of Esophageal Cancer so it runs in the family and I already have some minor erosion.

Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime. I can't wait for summertime!
