This looks interesting: Portable Electronic Cigarette Atomizer Holdfast Clamp. It's on sale for $4.64 and free shipping! It'll be on the slow boat, so order yourself a little Christmas present now!

That reminds me of this. Was it Mike or Iffy that suggested the clamp for repairing watches about a year ago?

Yep - that gadget is a 'watch makers movement jig/holder'. You can also find them on Amazon in plastic for about $5-$6 w/ free shipping.

Before I lose touch due to the "outage"...I'll be leaving for Africa on Monday, the 27th, and returning May 11th. We're working with a Bible school in Ethiopia. I sure would appreciate your prayers!!! I'll check in when I return!

Prayers are sent and will continue until you return...

Absolutely, ya got 'em!

Can you be more verbose in your remarks about those remarkable bulbs please?

I'm with Bells, mind expounding please? Do you have a preference 5700K vs 2700K are those circles degrees like they get hot? SIL has been wanting to get some of these, so kinda doin the research vicariously through y'all for her. So if I have this right, the incandescents are the ones with the filament that breaks when they blow like we always used..........and the CFL's, are those the ones that look like swirly ice cream cones??? (been wonderin bout that one for awhile, but think I finally figgered it out)

First off, I replaced my work bench 100W incandescent flood with an 8.5W (60W equivalence) Ultra 5700K. IMO, the 'whiter' LED appears brighter; probably due to the higher K 'temp'. It also has a wider defined pattern. Remarkable at ~12% of the wattage!

TBH, I prefer the 2700Ks for bedroom and closet lighting; not as intense. Might try lower wattage LEDs when I run out of my incandescents and LEDs.

Deba, you're correct.

What a couple of weeks this has been! My FIL passed away on Sunday, with his wife (of 67 years) and six of his kids at his side. It was a blessing, but much faster than anyone expected. I'm off to AZ, tomorrow; the funeral is on Saturday. Didn't want anyone to think I'd gone missing, again! Anyway, he was a fascinating man - one of the Greatest Generation. Spent three years in the Navy during WWII, much of it on a submarine called Kingfish in the South Pacific. Then, he married his grade school sweetheart, started a business, had eight kids, and lived a long and full life. Very cool guy.

@Sushi, absolutely will keep you in my prayers. Safe travels!

Breathe deep the gathering gloom,
Watch lights fade from every room.
Bedsitter people look back and lament,
Another day's useless energy spent.
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one,
Lonely man cries for love and has none.
New mother picks up and suckles her son,
Senior citizens wish they were young.
Cold hearted orb that rules the night,
Removes the colours from our sight.
Red is grey and yellow white.
But we decide which is right.
And which is an illusion?

Well, I will probably not be online tonight so I thought I should let ya'll know that we will see each other in a few days then.

Kind of wondering what it will really be like - I hope not to much like facebook - I just am not a big facebook fan.

Well, I guess we can all applaud the changeover since it is supposed to be such a great thing - -

or maybe we should save it until after we see what the learning curve will be...

I put three of the cool white in the downstairs bathroom (60 Watt bulbs) and three of the warm white in the upstairs bathroom (60 Watt bulbs as well). The downstairs bulbs appear much brighter than upstairs. Strange as they are both rated at the same lumens output. I like the warm light better but I also like the apparent brighter light. I think your solution is probably the best. Cool white for task lights and warmer for general lighting.

It won't be that different, Semi. The ECF Forum is a forum and it will still be a forum. FB is.... uh... something else, not sure what.

hey, hey, hey .... may get some chores done tomorrow mooring if'n there's no ECF.

Yo Matt - I almost drove over to your house last night to see if you were still up. Yikes, went to bed at 11pm, read 'till midnight, then put the lights outs to go to sleep and woke wide awake. Laid in bed for an about an hour then gave up on sleep and came down stairs and putzed around for another few hours. I think is was around 4am when I went back to bed and got a few hours sleep.

Our prayers and condolences out to you and yours!

Oh my, the 'Kingfish', what an outstanding honorable WWII history!

There is no bound to my love of and highest respect for the 'Greatest Generation'!!! My heart breaks each time I hear of a GG passing.

May you and yours cherish, embrace and pass on to your future generations the selflessness that, unfortunately, may never ever be surpassed en mass again!

My heart aches, but yet knows that he is still a selfless warrior and hero, at last in eternal PEACE...
