Heck of a way to wake up. I have a neighbor behind me that has an all night get together one night every week. Last night during the big storm something went bang really loudly. Wake the dead loud. Still have no idea what it was but, I could hear the guy yelling at somebody about it. Only thing I can figure is someone threw something in the fire barrel, maybe an aerosol can. One of these days I am going to have to call the cops. I don't want to be "that" guy but, with the trouble I have sleeping anyway, I don't need someone making noise all night. They literally go until 5 in the morning or so.

I could see if he did it on Friday or Saturday nights. But, 5 am on a week night? I'm amazed no one has already called the cops on him.

I think he works second or third shift and it varies what nights so the party night is kind of his Friday. It's not like they are overly obnoxious just louder than I like. That's why I have never even spoken to him about it. Now that it's getting to open windows at night weather I may run around the corner to his house and have a little chat with him. Try the nice approach first.

I woke up to a slight beeping sound. Then I looked outside. It is raining. Lots of emergency vehicles. The building across the street is burning. Massive amounts of smoke, and still some flames. Luckily it is not used for anything but storage-- mostly junk last time I looked.

Wow, that was close! Glad it didn't hit your building. I'd have been up the rest of the night watching the action, tho! :p

Sounds like he's the one being that guy. Call the cops, enough is enough. And every week is too much!

In order to shed a lil' light, my update on my LED venture...

First off, da base of LED bulbs are as hot as comparable filament/incandescent bulbs. But da LED bulb itself is near ambient temp.

Da 5700°K 8.5W Ultra (OSRAM) bulb is just so remarkable! My 2700°K (10W) bulbs are very comparable to a normal 60W incandescent bulb (softer yellowish tint) at 1/6th da power consumption.

I'll NEVER ever buy another CFL bulb as long as there are LEDs available. In fact, l dislike CFLs enough, that I'll buy incandescent bulbs before any CFL!

If ya'll can't tell, I'm now a total LED fanboy...
