If someone from the 1950s suddenly appeared, what would be the most difficult thing to explain about life today? One answer: “I possess a device in my pocket that is capable of accessing the entirety of information known to man. I use it to look
at pictures of cats and get into arguments with strangers.”

A few more days and we head out to Mike's. Jan's cookin! :D

Yay! You're welcome anytime!! After 40 years it's about time. I had an upper and lower cabinet that goes way back into a black hole in the corner. Mike was emptying the lower cabinet to get ready for the work and he was complaining that you have to actually get into the cabinet with a flashlight to get in the back of it. We've lived here for 25 years and he never knew that...

When we remodelled the kitchen in our first house Doree did the dishes in the bathtub for almost 6 weeks. Did all the work ourselves. I was an E-5 in the Navy at the time and we couldn't afford a contractor. I think your going to love your new kitchen. You lucky thing! :thumb:

Oh No! 6 weeks! Maybe years ago I might have been able to put up with that, but not today!! I'm using paper plates, but gotta have my coffee in a real cup! I may sound like I'm complaining, but there's a big smile on my face!!!

Howdy y'all. So, we got our Internet back at work Saturday. I can't believe I actually caught up on reading in here. Seapeach, I hope the granddaughter is all right. Damned CPS can't get 'em to work right when you need 'em and butting in ya business when you don't need 'em.

I hope everybody is doing all right. It appears that way. At least our AC is fixed in the office. Last hitch it was broken the whole hitch, and I was tempted to get naked to speed up the process of them fixing it. :pervy: I'm sure they would have hurried up then. It's hotter than Hades down here with little to no breeze. Even the Gulf of Mexico looked like glass!! I don't even have an appetite because of the heat.

The whole island lost power on Friday due to some underground something or other that broke. Thank goodness we were on generator power. And even better, it was fixed before I got back to the apartment after work. I would have never slept in this heat.

Anyway, enough of my rambling. Carry on folks!!

That would have been miserable to try to sleep in oppressing heat. AC is one of the greatest inventions of our time! Even better than sliced bread!
That's great that you got the internet back. I was afraid they'd drag their feet about it.

Traded my heater in for an AC last night. She just hired a new handyman. That nut who used to do the work around here is very unhappy. I say good riddance.

Good Sunday morning, Porchers

Another busy day ahead, and starting to feel tired, but maybe I'll 'come to' after my 3rd cup of java!

Sorry no personals this morning, but am outside sitting on the lanai w/my tablet using touchscreen!

I'm really hoping to get into H/O tonight if I don't fall asleep too early!

Hope your day is as pleasant as possible. :)

I get my porches confused. I thought I posted on the back porch, but I posted on the front. Anyways..if you didn't see this on the front. Here it is on the back.
REVIEW: My DIY Betelgeuse with Capellas verdict: Great stuff, totally rocks, nearly there, though something missing.
Sweet Strawberry (Cap) 6%
Golden Pineapple (Cap) 5%
Raspberry (Cap) 5%
Sweet Mango (Cap) 3%
Sweetener (Sucralose) (TFA) 0.5%
... Don't start yelling at the line cook.

but since it is vape related, the front porch is also a good place for it. :)

Ken, after you are finished cleaning the cement - if you seal it with sealer it in most cases will stop or at least reduce the mold from coming back.
you are correct... it will reduce the mold from coming back... for 2-3 months, then it comes back with a vengeance!
I'm on my PC now, but I have pics on my iPad that can show you the difference between what it looks like today, and what it looked like after 10 weeks from the last time I cleaned and sealed it.

Wow, mine lasted about 2 years before I had to do it again and it was just starting to show up and I did not want to let it get bad again. Different environment obviously...

Very. Hot and humid make a difference. Click on the pics below to see.
The cleaner one still shows dark stains, but I think they are just stains... I keep hitting them with the bleach to be sure :)

not even enough energy to go view the hangout tonight. I got my Duinokit Jr. in the mail today... yay! it's my second delivered kickstarter project. I got the Jr. and the Essentials learning kits, but they are sending them separately so we can start having fun now.

I just did the first mission with the 3 stages...
Make a light blink.
change the rate of the blink.
alternate two lights. ( I figured out 2 ways to do it. alternate and overlap)

the kits teach Arduino programming and component connections, so for the first mission, you use wires to plug from the processor to one or more LEDs, then you have to run the Arduino program code to get it to work.

These are kind of like a modern version of the old Radio Shack electronics kits. modern here means you learn programming as well.
I've been thinking about getting into Arduino or Raspberry Pi. Worried about how much coding I would have to do/learn. I don't know much (nothing) about programming and such but, am really interested in "smart home" stuff. Arduino looks like a good way to get what I want exactly without buying into some system that may not be around once the shakeout amongst smart home systems is over. Your thoughts? Thanks
