BTW Ken , good looking Floritram grass! I bet it feels real good to bare feet, N ice squishy lawn.
Heh. St. Augistine is just an artificial version of crab grass. The leaders are thicker, and the leaves are a bit more fibrous.
I have it because it is drought tolerant and works well in our FL climate.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

I was productive today. Went to Sams and got some B12 and a huge watermelon. Something about this hot humid weather just screams. . . watermelon. YUM.

Just a "Hello" to all. Feeling much better than last week. Still not sure what all is going on. I'm even sleeping better. And that has got to be a first since you have met me.
And I'm talking non-drug induced sleep. heehee

I may not be coming around as much as I used to but I still think of you everyday.

That's good that you're feeling better. And hope tomorrow is even better. Sending some good vibes and happiness your way. Miss not seeing your posts.

I've got friends that got stranded in Houston because of the storm. Can't get out till tomorrow...

Ugh. Hope they do get out tomorrow. What a mess down there! Just so they're safe.

I used to answer the phone with "Earth Station 1; Environmental control..." until I got a wrong number call and just had to interrogate the poor women as to how she got the number to the secure communications trunk line to Earth Station 1? I think I may have scared her a little , like she'd some how miss dialed and got a secret satellite base or something.
I also used "Sherwood forest, Robin Hood speaking..." till I got a drunk dial that wanted to talk to Maid Marion. I had to tell him she'd run off with Little John but I'd take a message.
and then there was the 30 sec answering machine greeting tape. Yep whether I said Hi leave a message or gave a long drawn explanation as to why I wasn't home it was 30 sec to the beep . so I parodied the Beverly Hillbilly's song. I'd get multiple messages a day of everyone laughing in the sales office when they'd hear my song. I even picked up the phone once and had a Lady say she was sorry but wanted to hear the greeting, I told her to call right back. She called back and I heard howling laughter in the background as she said thank you.
Very funny Scottie... now beam down my pants!

Boy you sure did pick a good screen name! That's a riot. And I thought I had a good message on our phone - If you're selling something or want my blood or my vote you can hang up now, otherwise leave a message. At least that's the last message I recorded. We haven't answered our land line in a few years. Mike checks online for messages and in all that time I think we've only had to call back maybe 3 of them. It works out nice because when I have to give out our phone number I just give them my landline if I didn't want to talk to them.

Oh, ow, ouch....
Here I have a week off from work, and I'm spending my time fixing up the look f the house.
Today, I got a sunburn on my neck and I can barely use my legs...
Only power washed half the front walk, and more to do tomorrow...
I DID manage to get the sunburn bleaching what I had washed...
Can you tell where I stopped?

How can you get sore legs just standing there pointing a pressure washer? And I have to do more of it tomorrow!

What a difference. Mike is going to have to do that to a section of the front of our house before we have to scrape it off. Oh, and a good way to avoid sore legs is to get someone else to do it.

I've been to Florida a few times to visit my sister. You have horrible stuff that looks like grass till you get up close. People up here picnic on the grass in parks and kids play on the grass in the yards. Didn't hardly see anyone on the grass in FL, but it did look lush and manicured. Guess that's the trade off for not having to deal with ice and snow.

I kind of like the unwashed patina on the left in the picture. Sort of looks like granite. :D

I'm a simple man with simple wants. Just give me a replicator/tricorder/transporter/cloaking device with warp drive and I'll be happy. OK, maybe temperature control too.

Nicely done!

Years ago when we lived in So Fl we had a female German Shephard. One day I answered the phone and the voice said "May I speak to the lady of the house?" I replied "no ladies here, which bi***(female dog) do you want to talk do, me or the shepherd?". He hung up on me!

I think I figured out how to post the video of Tasha meets Geordi. But it's late so tomorrow.

Hubby has to leave for the OK/TX trip Saturday, so I guess we will be hanging out Saturday night!

Today, the number of days since my last cigarette is the same as the M/YY of my birth. Both numbers are 851. This will never happen again, obviously.

And you thought I didn't have anything constructive to do with my time. Hah!

Another thousand days, and you'll be celebrating the full year duplicate, 1851!

After all, this IS the forum for us old farce. :w00t:

Well, howdy, y'all. It's that time of the week when I'm packing up for work again. I'm REALLY not feeling it today at all.

Mike, take care of that BP. Don't play with that.

Ratty, I'm glad you're feeling better.

Happy Vapersary, Bells.

Seapeach, hope you're recovering nicely.

If I missed anybody, which I know I did, I'm sorry. Oh, I hope you Texas folks are holding out all right! I've been watching that stupid thing. We actually went the whole day today without rain. It didn't help to improve my mood, but I still mowed the lawn, wet and all. Then my daughter tells me she was coming to do it today.

I guess I'd better finish packing.

That looks great, Ken! You can use Muratic Acid to do the same thing. Any kind of cement or grout can be cleaned with it. Even the colored cements. I used to work for a manufacturer of masonry construction products. Just dilute it some & use one of those push brooms to scrub it in a little.

Had to go to the doctor yesterday because my blood pressure was too low. Around 75/40. That's pretty low. He changed my dosage of my BP medicine (Quinapril) and wants me to start taking it in the evening instead of the morning. Tried not taking it this morning and was going to wait until dinnertime. Didn't work out so well, my BP has been hovering around 150/85, way too high. Took a my BP med at 9:00 and then tried to nap for a little bit. That didn't work out either so I gave up, took a nice hot shower. Came down at 10:45 and took it again, 155/83. Going to wait a few minutes longer and try again. The last one was right after the shower coming down the stairs. We'll see what it is after I relax for a few.

The BP Blues must be going around. My mother's bp has been all over the place for about 3 weeks now. Took her to the Dr & he changed her dosage & it made it worse, so we decided to go back to the old way. Have another appt for her next Tues. If we could get her top # to 150 & keep it there I'd be happy. She's taking Clonidine a couple of times a day. Not good for sure. Plus she get mean when it goes too high.

Hi everyone.....would like to post to y'all, but.....Mr. RA and I are fighting. he objects to my lifting my coffee cup or holding my mouse..:-x See y'all after I knock him on his buttinski...

Aww Yiddle, I'm sorry you're having RA issues. I'm having flareups now & then, too, but not too bad yet. I'm counting down the days until I get stem cell therapy for it at the end of August. It's supposed to stop RA in it's tracks. I can't wait! Feel better soon!

Ratty, sleep is good! But sleep because you don't feel good feels like a waste of good sleep, huh? Get well, sweetie, we miss you! (picturing droopy pigtails.)

I've got friends that got stranded in Houston because of the storm. Can't get out till tomorrow...

I'm a bit south of Houston, about 15 miles maybe. We got some rain, but nothing horrible. It's like we were between the swirls or something.
