Goodnight all. Going to try to go back to sleep. Woke up to a minor panic attack around midnight. Gotta hate that. Feeling better now. My ..... neighbor is having his weekly backyard firepit party and making noise. Does it once a week or so. I think he works nights and has a get together on his nights off. The night of the party varies so I think it's like his Friday night. Oh well. Waddayagonnado?

Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime. I can't wait for summertime!

It's amazing how oblivious some people can be when it comes to respecting people sleeping. One of the reasons I hate being in the hospital is the night shift coming in and laughing and carrying on like it's a daytime shift and you'd think especially in that setting they'd be more sensitive. Have you talked to your neighbor? If he's really being ignorant about it you could find out when he sleeps and have a party of your own!

Howdy howdy y'all!! I miss this place!! Just poking my head in to say Hello. Some fruitcaking genius at work downloaded an illegal movie, and we had our Wifi Internet taken away from us. Now I can only get on once I leave work and get back to the apartment. By that time, I'm dead on my feet and all I can think about is bed. Guess I'll never catch up now. :(

Sorry that happened, Roto...everyone gets punished for the actions of one. That stinks.

Where Dude worked before retirement, someone came into his boss' office and incorrectly used his e cig charger and caught his desk on fire. Boss, who is a very nice guy, got his vaping privileges taken away. It was someone else who goofed up, but he had to pay for it.

Just my opinion, but in my experience escalation is best avoided.

Yeh I've been there, done that. Taking Nexium. Is that what's bad for your bones? If so I didn't know that and will have to ask my doc about it. Bad knees, hips and osteoarthritis in ankles, wrists and several finger joints. Don't need anymore problems for God sake.

Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime. I can't wait for summertime!

Matt, I cannot personally attest to this, but I have read that many people with arthritis get some relief from drinking unfiltered apple cider vinegar. It might be worth a try.

I am on Fosamax (generic) for osteoporosis. Everything I read says take a break for a few months every 5 years due to increased risk of random fractures (like hips or femur). Dr would not "let" me take a break. Finally talked to his wife, the nurse practioner, and she told me to take a break anyway. So every few years I take 6 months off.

Good morning everyone. It's looking a lot better to me than yesterday. Sheese. Can't remember being this kind of sick in ages. Slept most of yesterday and even after that slept 10 hours last night! I feel well enough to run out later for a rotisserie chicken to make some chicken and rice for lunch/dinner. It's my comfort meal.

Uh Oh. Looks like Mike has it now. Maybe this explains why he felt so beat after fishing yesterday. Anyone else get "overly tired" right before getting sick?

Matt, love the ducks! I'm expecting to see a pair show up at our pool soon. The water on top of the pool cover is hard for them to resist. One year, after our pool was open, I went out to find a slew of ducklings in the pool and mamma walking back and forth along the pool apron quacking away at them because they couldn't get out. I used the skimmer to scoop them out and she waited unil they were all out before leading them, single file, into the bushes. It was so cute. A real life cartoon.

Roto, sorry everybody had to pay for the one person who did wrong. Of course, if everyone was watching the movie then I guess group punishment might be in order. Hopefully it's only a temporary ruling and they'll allow it again. I'd think knowing this would happen would be enough to keep anyone else from trying it again.

Beautiful photo Mike! Glad you got away to the great outdoors! How is Janet doing today?

I got a new tablet for my trip. Anybody have a Bible for Android you can read offline?

Here's a couple sources for you:

EReaderBibles.com - free bibles for your ereader devices.

Bible New International Version NIV (fb2, epub, mobi) - Download Holy Bible - Free Download Holy Bible - Download Holy Bible - Holy Bible online-everything about the Holy Bible

I just googled "bible epub", and there were a lot of hits, so if you don't find what you're looking for on those two... :)

Between Prilosec and Nexium I think I've been on them for 20 years. Both my family doc and my gastro doc say to stay on them. Now I don't know hate second guessing my docs. My brother died of Esophageal Cancer so it runs in the family and I already have some minor erosion.

Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime. I can't wait for summertime!

Symbicort ALSO decreases bone density. If I remember correctly, Matt, you take Symbicort in addition to Nexium. I take both Symbicort and Prilosec but take both at lower than the prescribed dosages in order to try and slow down the negative effects on bone density. Yes, I'm guilty of not following doctor's orders, but with some of these things I've done more research than my doctor has done and I educate him rather than vice versa. Fortunately I have a doctor who listens to me, takes me seriously, and allows me to self-prescribe to a significant degree.

Absolutely. Probably best that you and Mike didn't get hit at exactly the same time!

For 8 years or so I've used Bible Gateway, which is free, and I've found it to be really good for a number of reasons. https://www.biblegateway.com/

Acid reflux. I hate having that, but the only effective medication for it is really bad for my bones.
Had to sit up and hack the acid from my lungs for a while, now gonna try going back to sleep too.

Ohhhhhhhh I hate that!!! Wake up with horrible burning acid in my throat. I use OTC ranitidine Was on prilosec for a long time before nexium came out. and something that I think started with an R before that. They left me on that for a long time, later found out I shouldn't have been on it but a few months. grrrrrrrr Someone mentioned apple cider vinegar for arthritis, but it is also supposed to be great for heartburn. The only time I tried it (mixed with water) I only had balsamic vinegar.....that did NOT work lol

oh man, that stinks hun..........we'll miss you terribly while you're at work, and I know you don't have a lot of time while you're off. Perhaps y'all can earn it back, or at least talk to em about punishing only the jerk that did it if they know who it was.

There is controversy regarding Nexium in the medical world. A good number of doctors feel that AstraZeneca, the manufacturer, made meaningless changes to the formulation of Prilosec for the sole purpose of obtaining a new patent when their patent on Prilosec ran out.

I had wondered about this when nexium came out

I see you found what you want. Was gonna say I have the Holy Bible on my non working android phone. I would imagine it's much better than the one I have now, since I dl'd mine many years ago. Still it comes in handy.

wow.......love the tips and tricks thing! Will make quoting soooooooo much easier, and way easier for folks to respond to only a piece of a large quote!!! Thanks so much for putting this up!!

Question for the cooks in the group...

I am looking at finally giving in and upgrading my wifes microwave oven - the one we are using now is about 40 years old - not broke, but obviously on its last leg. My question is -

I have been looking and reviewing the Convection Microwaves. Anyone have one and how do they like it?? It is one thing to read a review on the internet - it is another to get one from some one you trust... How well do they hold up also?
